Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J. K. Rowling

Harry Potter is my personal favorite book series ever. I love The Hunger Games and The Hobbit, but I believe this book deserves a higher rank than both of those books. I grew up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and all the other characters in these seven books. The story is so rich and the characters are so relatable and human, it feels like you're really there, going on the adventure with them. I dreamed of going to Hogwarts and becoming a wizard, zapping my enemies with spells and jinxes, and I still do. I don't dream of being of going into a death game, and killing other children. I don't dream of becoming a hobbit and going on a journey through Middle-Earth. I dream of being with Harry Potter, and saving the wizarding world. It's not just nostalgia; I think every kid who wants to read about awesome characters, deep stories, and worlds you want to jump right into, should read this book.

I remember the time when I finally got this book. I was really excited, finally getting this book on hand, a book which would mark an end to the beautiful journey of the harry potter series, and was keen to know how the story, ( which had such a deep impact on my childhood) ended. And I got a masterpiece. The Harry Potter Series got a fitting conclusion, much better than most of the fantasy books you can find (except the lord of the rings). - Kiteretsunu

Everyone is complaining that books for teenagers shouldn't be above classics like To Kill a Mockingbird. I agree - with the exception of Harry Potter. Harry Potter is the best book of the 21st century, and arguably the best book for teenagers ever. It has a likable yet still imperfect main character, a perfectly developed plot, and a universe everyone wishes they lived in. Harry Potter is an absolute masterpiece and absolutely deserves top 5, if not number 1.

The Hunger Games is above this?! It made me feel nothing at all. Absolutely nothing. Katniss doesn't do anything but survive. She's selfish, and doesn't care for anyone but herself and Prim. Peeta and her were for her convenience. So that she could rise above the Capitol and not be killed. Gale and her were cheap plot tension. The second book. I swear, if I have to read another book like that again I will...never mind. Every tribute was her partner. And they all survived except one. At this point I was really, really disappointed with this book. And the third book. Katniss conks out halfway and gets the ending explained to her. EXPLAINED to her. (Calming breaths) Rant over.
Harry Potter is a whole other story. J.K Rowling literally made me feel so much when Dobby, Fred, Tonks, Lupin, Sirius, and even when Hedwig died. She writes in a way that can only be matched by Stephen King and J.R.R Tolkien. Every single character was developed. Harry was hot-headed but brave, he also felt ...more

Why the hell is The Hunger Games above Harry Potter, the the Vinci Code, and And Then There Were None? Harry Potter actually has interesting characters, great and interesting storyline, and a main character that actually has a definable personality that teenagers can both relate to and look up to. The Hunger Games has none of these. I prefer TLotR and The Hobbit, but Harry Potter should be higher than The Hunger Games.

The Harry Potter series is the best series in the world. J.K Rowling is an amazing author. This is my opinion on the top ten list. Number one should be the bible, number two should be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, number three should be Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, number five should be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, number six should be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, number seven should be Harry Potter and the Prison of Azkaban, number nine should be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and number ten should be Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Plus, Universal Studios is the best amusement park, but Six Flags is awesome, too. You can learn language from the spells and the characters are awesome. I love Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and all of the other actors. J.R.R Tolkien's books suck along with The Hunger Games and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, but the Bible and Harry Potter are the two best books. Anyone who disagrees deserves ...more

A lot of these books are great and all, but by far Harry Potter is my favorite. It's a very carefully crafted story leaving readers waiting for their Hogwarts letter. I hope someday Potterheads around will be able to recreate Hogwarts or Ilvermorny as a boarding school. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and all the other amazing characters impacted my life. It taught me beautiful lessons that most others who haven't read these books wouldn't understand. It taught me that everyone belongs somewhere, that I'm important, and it's always good to have friends. In a society like ours, lessons that Harry Potter teaches are crucial. I just overall love these books and Deathly Hallows is a breathtaking conclusion.

This clearly needs to be first. I never read the Hunger Games, but I did read The Hobbit. Other people Wimpy Kid is down now! Anyways in Harry Potter the boy grows up learning about love, wisdom, braver, and much more. The Hobbit is fine, but seriously? The Hobbit discovers himself. BORING! I like all Harry Potter books, but the seventh is truly the best!

This is a life changing adventure. Period and I'm literally speaking when I said so. Harry Potter deserves number 1 spot. Check out all the people who love just to listen someone say those two words "Harry Potter". The fans it has is beyond compare. Its really disrespectful to have this in number 5. There are some amazing books out there but this is just in another level.

I grew up with Harry. J K Rowling, that woman made me smile more than everything in this damn screwed life ever has. I love Harry Potter to bits for it was my past, it is my present and my future too. The first book I will read to my child because Hell, you learn from this books more than you can imagine.

All Harry Potter books are awesome! Those 7 books must be the top 7! The hunger games, diary of a wimpy kid and the hobbit are never better! ROWLING'S WORK IS ART! NO BOOKS BETTER! NO EXCUSES! SAID AND SAID! DONE AND DONE! I AGREE WITH THE COMMENTS BELOW! THIS IS INFURIATING TO SEE HP AT NUMBER 4! #1= HARRY POTTER!

Honestly Harry Potter is amazing. Name one thing about Harry Potter that makes you dislike it. Hunger Games and the Hobbit are amazing but Harry Potter is better. I've read all the Harry Potter books, The Hobbit and all the Hunger Games books. I'm also almost finished Lord of the Rings (which should be a little higher)

This is a great book. While The Order of the Phoenix was better, it is not on this list, so I can't vote for it. This book has action, comedy, and everything else you want. I may not like Harry or Ron, but Luna and Hermione and Bellatrix make up for it. Note: I have read this book 18 times, so vote for it.

Okay that is it! Harry Potter should be the best book in all world history! You suck hunger games! Okay the Bible and the Hobbit are pretty good but Harry Potter is magical! Literally Magical! Once you start reading you can't stop until you've made it to half way through. The hunger games is nothing but plain brutalness! Harry Potter is my mentor! If I could be anyone I would be Ginny Weasley. You guys are idiots not to put this number 1!

Harry Potter was no longer a book when it "hitted" the world with its fascinating story. It became a cult and it will, very likely, remain that way for a long long time. Greatest books ever made. The first book I read was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and you know what? I kinda got why people love reading in that moment, in that glimpse of curiosity. Just by reading the first chapter. You now tell me J.K Rowling's magic world is just "literature"..

Why is Harry Potter not first?!? I cannot express how much I love this book. I mean, you can't argue with Hunger Games, but Harry Potter is better. If this was book series, I bet harry Potter would be the first. People, please vote for HARRY POTTER! It should be higher than fourth!

I'd have to say Harry Potter is my favorite of these. All the characters are so brave and amazing, there is mystery, romance, and magic. Seriously, what could be better than that? It has good villains, too. There are upsetting deaths and most of all, amazing adventure.

I honestly don't understand why Hunger Games is before Harry Potter, any Harry Potter book in general. It was a magnificent story. Tons more memorable. How many quotes are remembered from Harry Potter? Now think of how many are remembered from the Hunger Games.

I've a sealed box-set of the Harry Potter series. I'm saving it for my kids so that I can make them read it and tell them that "Harry Potter made my generation and that will remain the best ever series, the best love story "always"'. !

I love Lord of the Rings and Jurassic Park and all that. But I also read the Harry Potter series, and after spending so much time learning about these people, and seeing them die and put to the brink, it's heart-wrenching!

All the books above this are nowhere near to this masterpiece. Entertaining, dark, thrilling. WHY IS THE HUNGER GAMES ABOVE THIS IT IS NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD. And as for the Hobbit: it is good but not mind blowing.

This series changed my life and changed an entire generation.
The 7th book was definitely the best one, since everything is explained and you get mind blown by every little details.
The best chapter is the one where harry goes to die in the forest and he accepted that he needed to do so if he wanted to keep everyone else safe.

How is the Hunger Games before this? I mean, seriously! This is the greatest book! Maybe not before the Bible or the Hobbit, but definitely before the Hunger Games!

Why is the Hunger Games higher than the Harry Potter books, and why do people like Diary of a Wimpy Kid more than this? This is literally the greatest thing ever!

Harry Potter SERIES are the best books. No one could ever beat it even that book by Tolkien. The Hobbit is nothing compared to this book.
