Best Science Fiction Book Series

This list is for series of science fiction books - not individual books.

The Top Ten

1 The Foundation Trilogy - Isaac Asimov

One of the best science fiction series of all time. Foundation and Empire is my favourite.

2 Artemis Fowl - Eoin Colfer

Friendly literature with a plot about crime in 8 or more Novels. Can get use to that! - iliescu

A great mix of fantasy and science fiction.

3 Escape From Genopolis - T. E. Berry-Hart

A chilling world with creepy genetic experiments.

4 The Giver - Lois Lowry

I am not a big fan of science fiction. I read Asimov- rather bored. Read Verne and some other classics- bored.
The Giver was amazing, however. Emotional, chilling, beautiful. The best Apocalypse book, as well (though Hunger Games is really good as well. )
Several other science fiction books by Lois Lowry are very good, as well. Ender's Game and Artemis Fowl are pretty good, too. Otherwise, there isn't a single science fiction book I really like.

The 9 serialize such far the Anastasia series by Lois Lowry is the better deal might say. - iliescu

An unloving, deprived world with hardly any emotion. Scary.

5 I, Robot - Isaac Asimov

Isaac Asimov has done great of late in being modernize of the Robot franchise. Robot Dreams have in actual read the entire thing. Does well for the segment it is in print with and in a beautiful intelligent way. Good job to the Robot franchise community. Foundation has it where it counts but does not seem as charming or tug towards attention of a reader. Anyway, cool stuff hope to read more of it! - iliescu

Stories about very human-like robots and all their problems.

6 Space Trilogy - C.S. Lewis

Out of the Silent Planet is the best. The technology is primitive, but, just like in The Chronicles of Narnia, there are good morals.

7 Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card

Found the first Ender's Game Author's Definitive Edition, thought it became a misplace item. Anyhow, The Hugo winner still in grasp(worth another go), a fine Science Fiction novel cartridge to behold on the shelves or in a bookcase. Great writer of our times and a definitive worth more than another glance. Am glad these are around. Awesome summer so far, found what is nice again...which feels pretty good! - iliescu

Ender's Game! This list was basically an impossible decision to make since I like so many of the series on this list. Ender's Game, however, is something I can go back and read over and over and never get bored with it-it's just that good. - Element119

Bought most of the novels in this saga, the first one eludes yet in the closet spaces. God bless for Orson Scott Card perspective with Ender's Game entry to Science Fiction. Awesome! - iliescu

I love the story and it is such an interesting yet unique read.

8 Revelation Space - Alastair Reynolds

The 6 novels to this time span of 'Revelation Space Universe' from the author of it are attracting a reader imagination that much seems certain! - iliescu

9 Dune Chronicles - Frank Herbert

Dune has 6 entries beside what might have been a one track adventure, a lot of options actually open and release freedom to the reader in this opinion. - iliescu

Absolutely incredible. Arrakis deserves a massive movie adaption that hopefully will be successful. - iliekpiez

I love Dune! Reading about Paul Atreides and the mysteries of Arrakis sweeps you away to their world. Iron Maiden even did a song about the book, called To Tame A Land. - Element119

10 The Forever War - Joe Haldeman

The Contenders

11 Tripods Trilogy - John Christopher
12 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams

Very interesting and humorous series! - Element119

13 The Book of the New Sun - Gene Wolfe
14 Hyperion Cantos - Dan Simmons
15 The Man in the High Castle - Philip K. Dick

Phillip K. Dick has a nice assortment range of Novels. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep especially props up again and again which is how the works of the author there post is recognition with that sort of fame in the written literature network. - iliescu

16 Vorkosigan Saga - Lois McMaster Bujold

Loving McMaster the work on Vorkosigan Saga - hopes are with it to exist in the future. The only draw back to this is might be set too further along the future. A marvel feat of science fiction by an author though. Beautiful wording and could flow simple - not certain but one am favoring more is the Robot series by Asimov. After reading in full the Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen might change the perspective to this as best novel. - iliescu

17 The Moon is a Harsh Mistress - Robert A. Heinlein

Robert Heinlein is earliest of the finest have read about in the industry with Science Fiction. Another aspect is that finding as a favorite of the 5 that are best to read in modern science fiction thus far in the archives can seem to come across. Good stuff, well made Heinlein! - iliescu

18 Mind Dimensions Series - Dima Zales
19 The Sprawl - William Gibson
20 The Stars My Destination - Alfred Bester
21 Culture - Iain M. Banks
22 Mars Trilogy - Kim Stanley Robinson
23 Zones of Thought - Vernor Vinge
24 Imperial Radch - Ann Leckie
25 The Way - Greg Bear
26 Dragonriders of Pern - Anne McCaffrey
27 Honor Harrington Series - David Weber

Seen the Honorverse at the bookstore in the area name as Indigo. It is in good condition and proportion fine at that, it does not take up the whole of slots while has much built in a smaller canon. A delight to grab one and read, makes summer a joy and a fondness might be the shape of thought about this Harrington Series when in possession especially for persona. - iliescu

28 Safehold - David Weber
29 Saga of the Skolian Empire - Catherine Asaro
30 The Dark Tower - Stephen King

King's Best. - iliekpiez
