Top 10 Best Twilight Characters
Alice is a great character. I love her style, bubbly personality, and sense of humor. The only part that annoys me is her intent to torture Bella with clothes.
Alice is literally the only character in this book series with any common sense. And to all the Twilight fans out there, don't start with that nonsense that the characters are amazing and that Bella is an inspirational character. No. Bella has absolutely no common sense. Alice is by far the best character.
Alice is a wonderful character. She is the sister I've always wanted. She is funny, nice, and always there for the people who need her. She has been such a great friend to Bella, a fantastic sister to Rosalie, Emmett, and Edward, an amazing lover to Jasper, and a wonderful daughter to Carlisle and Esme. I love her so much!
OH MY, the movie made him seem so horrible. But in the books, and especially Midnight Sun, his character is so much better. He did still watch Bella sleep without her permission and does control her. Red flags.
Edward is easily the best character. He has the superpower to sparkle at will. He reminds me of Santa Claus. He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake. Santa is good, so Edward is too. He is a sparkling, baseball-playing bloodsucker. JK, I'm Team Jacob. I hate Edward.
I'm a guy, and I love Edward Cullen's personality. Those arrogant Edward-haters dishonestly accuse him of being "abusive" with no realistic proof. No! They're liars. Edward is a true gentleman because he's gentle, soft, protective, supportive, and--best of all--humble.
Bella's a great character. Yes, she's a bit of a Mary Sue, but her good traits balance it all out. She's kind, selfless, smart, and funny. She does have some bad traits, but every good character does. She's clumsy and a little naive, which balances out her character. I don't like a character that only has good traits.
She is sort of a Mary Sue. I have a love-hate relationship with the whole series, so my opinion can easily waver. But I really like Bella as a character, though not as much as, say, a role model.
I love Bella. I understand most people don't like that she always gets her way, but 18 years old is old enough to make your own decisions.
Jacob Black is a good character. He has good traits, but he's a bit of a jerk to the vampires. I like how he finally let go of Bella when he realized she was passionate about someone else.
This is my favorite character throughout the whole book and the only well-developed main character. I think that's because we really only see glimpses of his life, but they are important glimpses that represent significant moments in his life.
Just within the first book, where he's not featured much, you learn that his mother died when he was young. He lives with his disabled father, whom he helps a lot, and he never complains about it. That alone reveals much more about what he's been through and what his personality is like than you learn about Bella in the entire series.
Now, I may be completely biased in my opinion of this character due to Taylor Lautner's attractiveness, but when I was reading the books, the most enjoyable part was in New Moon. During this time, Bella was spending time with Jacob, and I could feel his kindness and perceptiveness. Jacob had the ability to read Bella in ten minutes better than Edward ever could.
That's the main reason why I was Team Jacob and severely disappointed when Bella went back to Edward, old tendencies and all. As a general Jacob fan, I'd say Bella doesn't deserve someone as great as him. However, Bella is who he wants, and he deserves to have what he wants. Life has been beyond unfair to him, so he deserves Bella.
Honestly, Jasper is my favorite character. I feel so bad for him. Everyone thinks badly of him because he is the newest to the animal diet. My theory is that he feels everyone else's thirst as well, and that's why he snapped at Bella's birthday. Besides, Edward pushing her into glass just drove him over the edge. So, it's all Edward's fault.
He has a lot of charisma and shows a lot of struggle, which I think makes him really realistic as a vampire because he's trying not to kill Bella. Plus, he's good for Alice.
Jasper is an awesome character, especially in Eclipse. How can people not like him? Even with his dodgy past, he's still amazing.
Carlisle is an incredible character and is so great that no human could match his nature. The fact that he's a vampire makes him a paradox. He's traditionally viewed with suspicion by all who discover his true identity, yet he possesses characteristics akin to great figures like Jesus (not being preachy). He embodies qualities that transcend human nature and give a genuine sense of selfless, compassionate righteousness.
Carlisle is worthy of his own series, as he's clearly the best character of them all.
Rosalie was the only realist in the movie. She only changed when the baby she wished she could have came through Bella. She loved Emmett and all the Cullens but wishes she never had the opportunity to meet them because she, above all else, believes that life is meant to end. The middle is what makes it worth it.
I love Alice and Rosalie, but Rosie has to take the win. At first, she's not nice to Bella, but all she's really trying to do is to stop her from throwing her life away. Rosalie is so sweet, and when Renesmee comes around and Bella isn't there, she treats Renesmee as her own. Personally, I love Rosie.
The most underrated character in the series. He is so caring, yet Bella doesn't even consider that. He loves her so much, and he loved Renee too. I think Charlie deserves so much more than Bella.
Charlie is very funny. He just lets Bella be because he doesn't really know how to raise a daughter. He is doing great, though.
He's the only normal one. A cool guy that you could talk to whenever.
That big brother you always wanted. Funny, supportive, and strong.
Emmett, oh my god. Everything is awesome!
Emmett is (like Rosalie says) a monkey boy. He is a great character.
I can relate to her wanting to kill Bella because, yes, that is hard to get over when somebody else kills your loved one.
She's the main antagonist of the whole Twilight saga, and I think it's cool how manipulative and evil she can be. And her hair color is cool.
She's just such a cool villain, and she should be higher up on this list.
Seth is my favorite! It's just so sweet how he's friends with Edward, and I think both he and his sister are really cool.
So loyal and won't hate people just because he's supposed to. Funny too! He should be near the top.
I love Seth. He's just too cute, and the way he looks up to Jacob is so cute. He's like a little puppy!
Jane is the best character and one of my top favorites. Actually, she is my number one most favorite character. I don't understand why people would hate her. I personally like the Cullens' side more than the Volturi, but Jane is my most favorite character if I had to pick from every role in the whole saga.
The best character in the whole saga. Her gift has no parallel. She is the coolest, and all those haters are just jealous of her.
A cold heart shows the perfection of mastering the mind. Jane is awesome!
Nice to finally give Bella a baby. Absolutely hated everything about Jacob imprinting on her, though.
She's so cute. She's great and so mature for her age. Why isn't she on the list already?
I really wish Renesmee had a little more time on the screen.
Esme is an incredibly strong character. After living a horrible, traumatic human life, she still had the will to love, live, and prevail! I love Esme for so many reasons. One is that she reminds me of my mom, just like Carlisle does for my dad.
Esme is the matriarch and the motherly figure. She and Carlisle call all the shots. She is so kind to everyone, and she wants to help out. Jane is a merciless pain.
Esme is the best character in the entire series! She's so kind and amazing. Why is Jane in front of her for being merciless?
She's the only strong female in the book. When her true love leaves her, does she curl up in a ball and do nothing for months? No, she continues her life because she knows life moves on and so should she. Granted, she's bitter about it, but she has every right to be. I mean, Sam may not have had a choice, but Emily did, and she decided she needed her cousin's fiancé. That kind of betrayal doesn't deserve forgiveness. They deserve her pain and more.
Leah is the best werewolf (shapeshifter) around. She's better than Jacob, Sam, and Emily, who can't do anything. She sacrificed herself to save Esme.
Aro is the best character in the series.
Honestly, I get the feeling people judge characters by their looks here, and not by their real qualities and plot relevance. I mean, Jacob is a good-looking guy, but he's (no offense) kind of a jerk. If he really loved Bella, he'd let her be happy and stop causing her pain.
I agree with Alice topping the list. She is fabulous, though a little shallow. Edward is a character I can't abide, just because he can be mean, selfish, and unfaithful. Jasper is fourth because he's hot (okay, only partly true) and he's a very interesting character, even creepier than Aro in my opinion, and quite badass.
Bella... just no. Rosalie deserves to be higher. She is a very realistic and sweet character who has the appropriate attitude to feel sorry for Bella. Jane totally deserves her place, so frail in appearance but brilliantly cold and calculating. Victoria, same.
Carlisle, Emmett, Esme, Seth, Leah... should all be much higher. Really amazing characters. Same for Alec, Demetri, and Heidi: all tough but amazing characters, like 10,000 times more powerful than Bella and Edward. And how is Kate not on the list?! Her power is the best!
Well, that was my very long opinion rant. But Aro is intriguing, funny, badass, and super powerful, and he could kill Bella (maybe not that far, but yeah)... He needs to be higher.
A seriously underrated character. So what if she didn't get much screen time or wasn't a main character? Where can you find a genuine and kind person nowadays?
I just love his style, morals, and all that stuff. I love how he chose his own path even when everyone was telling him what to do. An underrated favorite of mine.
