Top 10 First Person Shooter Protagonists

We're looking at the FPS protagonists that can be from the same franchise and so on.
The Top Ten
Doomguy (Doom series) The Doomguy, commonly known as the Marine and referred to as the Doom Slayer in the rebooted portion of the series, is the unnamed player character in the Doom video game franchise of first-person shooters created by id Software, and its sequels and spin-off media.

One year after the release of Wolfenstein 3D, another titular game was released, Doom. Hell is a place for people in the afterlife where there is eternal damnation, except for Doomguy, who is eternal damnation for Hell itself. The name? Who cares! Does he speak? Who cares! Demons still alive? Not anymore when Doomguy comes.

He is the strongest, fastest demon killer in existence, and nothing can stand in his way.

"They are rage, brutal, without mercy. But you, you will be worse. Rip and tear, until it is done!"

William B.J. Blazkowicz (Wolfenstein series)

You thought that the Call of Duty protagonists like Mason, Logan, or Mitchell would make number one. Hell no. Meet Blazkowicz, the protagonist of the titular Wolfenstein. In Wolf3D, he goes all the way to defeat one person: Hitler.

Nine years later, the reboot was released: Return to Castle Wolfenstein, where he goes battling even more Nazis and more twisted creatures to prevent Nazis from taking over the world. He does the same thing in its sequel, Wolfenstein.

In 2014, The significant The New Order looked realistic, was even more violent and twisted, and left Blazkowicz satisfied with more dead Nazis.

Duke Nukem (Duke Nukem series)

Making his titular appearance in Duke Nukem 3D, this ass-kicking, bubblegum-chewing badass keeps making alien corpse piles bigger and makes us laugh with his jokes and puns.

Gordon Freeman (Half-Life Series) Dr. Gordon Freeman is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Half-Life video game series, created by Gabe Newell and designed by Newell and Marc Laidlaw of Valve Corporation.

He's got the best quotes out of any game. I always shed a tear when I heard him speak, such a poetic fella.

Imagine having Gordon under John Price.

Lo Wang (Shadow Warrior)
Master Chief (Halo series) Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, more commonly known as the Master Chief, is a SPARTAN-II commando of the UNSC Naval Special Warfare Command. He is the protagonist and main character in both the Halo trilogy and Reclaimer Saga.

The game that marked the beginning of Xbox, we just can't ignore Master Chief. With his well-known appearance, we never forget this franchise that started the sci-fi craze.

Master Chief is way more popular than Doomguy in everything. How is he second?!

Commander Shepard (Mass Effect) Commander Shepard is the player character in BioWare's Mass Effect game series: Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3.
Captain John Price (Call of Duty Modern Warfare series)

Yeah, it could have been John 'Soap' MacTavish, but with his well-known moustache, hat, and his accent, we know what stunts Price does. Going to Pripyat in 1996, surviving the collapsing bridge, battling Shepherd and Makarov, he is the one who never dies.

Sergeant Cortez (TimeSplitters)
Jackie Estacado (The Darkness)

The Newcomers

? Samus Aran (Metroid) Samus Aran is the protagonist of the science fiction action-adventure game series Metroid by Nintendo. A galactic bounty hunter, Samus is usually equipped with her Power Suit, giving her access to weapons she uses to battle her enemies.

Sergeant Matthew Baker (Brothers in Arms series)

You didn't expect Baker on this list, did you? This sergeant does not only kill enemies, destroy artillery, and grab documents. He deeply cares for his men, making sure none of them dies, but that job is not easy at all.

Ranger (Quake)

Driven to insanity from traveling between numerous hellish dimensions and killing anything that moved. Killed a Lovecraftian God only to venture further deeper into the unknown.

Sergeant John Mullins (Soldier of Fortune series)

Being a separatist movement or secret organization won't save you from this Vietnam veteran. Gun in hand, and blow your enemies away. Decapitate, dismember, destroy, that's what Mullins does.

Strelok (S.T.A.L.K.E.R)
Artyom (Metro 2033)
Lieutenant James Jimmy Patterson (Medal of Honor series)

There were multiple choices, but Patterson takes it all. With the D-Day landings, Operation Market Garden, or whatever happens, this silent soldier is a true menace to Nazis.

Andrew Ryan (Bioshock series) Andrew Ryan is a fictional character in the BioShock video game series developed by Irrational Games. He serves as the primary antagonist of the first half of the first BioShock and a minor character in its sequel, BioShock 2.
