2storm Walter Payton needs to be number 1. Walter is better than anyone before and after him. He made the Pro Bowl 9 times. And this one person said that Sanders was drafted first round, that why he was the best, so was Payton. Payton would've had the most yards all-time if he played longer. Payton is the best all-time here are the reasons.First of Emmitt Smith is not the best. Emmitt had the best offensive line ever plus he had Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman. Plus Emmitt played 15 years Payton 12. Smith had 18355 yards in 15 seasons and Payton had 16726, 2 thousand yards he would of beat him.
Second he is famous. You guys be thinking no but let me explain. Plus he set the record in a game with the flu. And he had to split yards with Neal Anderson.
And lastly he had a bad line. Just like Barry Sanders he had a bad line.
