About my new post series...

SplashMoun10 After months of planning to start a review series on this site, I'm finally going to do it this week. I'd thought about doing it since very early in the year, but at the time I was still busy with college work. When the summer rolled around, I thought I'd be getting to it any time now, but it never happened. Nevertheless, I'm very excited to begin the review series this weekend!

What am I going to be reviewing you say? There's music reviewers, movie reviewers, TV show reviewers, and many other types of reviewers and critics on this site, so what shall I be tackling exactly? Well, nothing other than the thing I know best...theme park rides.

Seeing how I'm this site's big theme park nerd, it only seems fitting for me to have my own post series in which I get to really showcase my knowledge. While obviously nowhere near as popular as movies and music on this site, I think rides are just as valid a form of entertainment when it comes to critique. As a user from WDWMagic once said, it's sad that the Disney company treats their theme park department as subordinate to their movies when they should be equal. There is the valid point that rides aren't as accessible as movies, and just watching it on YouTube doesn't give quite the same feeling as actually experiencing it, but regardless, there's a whole lot to talk about when it comes to critiquing a ride, particularly the highly-themed rides found at Disney and Universal Studios.

I plan for my reviews to go fully in-depth, just like you would with a movie albeit a bit different. I'll be covering all sorts of things like special effects, scenery, quality of theming, thrills, music, and all sorts of other things that go into these rides and make them great or not-so-great experiences. For me, it's going to be a really special series as it will be unlike anything else on the site and will likely make me stand out from the crowd even more.

For the most part, I'm only going to be covering rides from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando. I had been planning to start with Splash Mountain, which would be fitting considering my username and that it's my favorite ride, but I also think it might be nice to save my favorite for a later time. Since there are so many I could potentially begin the series with, I'm willing to let my followers vote on a ride and that will be the one that I do.

So guys, what is the first ride you'd like to see me cover?

Excellent idea! I'll definitely be checking often. I liked the Haunted Mansion when I went to Disney World, so I guess I will request that. - DCfnaf
