Top 10 Best Helloween Albums

This German band, often hailed as the pioneers of power metal, has been crushing it for decades with their signature mix of speed, epic storytelling, and jaw-dropping riffs. From the unforgettable twin guitar harmonies to the soaring, almost operatic vocals, Helloween albums are packed with tracks that just explode with energy and talent.

What do you think are the best Helloween albums? Whether you're all about the classic '80s sound or you're more into the heavier, darker albums from the '90s and 2000s, there's a lot to pick from. Each record brings something new to the table, evolving with the band members and the times, yet keeping that unmistakable Helloween vibe. From the groundbreaking Keeper of the Seven Keys series that put them on the map to their recent releases that prove they're still at the top of their game, the choices are stacked.
The Top Ten
Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2

Both the original Keeper albums and The Legacy are great. However, this one has more tracks that are still played live than the others. The title track is epic, much like Halloween is for Part 1, but this album is more consistent.

Helloween's best work (even with Kiske), though I am more of a fan of what Helloween is doing with Deris. I am a major fan of the original melodic power metal Helloween was originally doing. The Keeper records are still on top.

Both Keeper albums are equally good, but this one became more popular because it fulfilled the expectation of being the second or finishing part of a great set of albums.

Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1

Outstanding! Even the B-sides destroy other bands' full-length albums!

What can you say? The excitement those tracks bring to me personally is out of this world! One of my favorite parts of the album is in the track "Halloween," with the amazing melodic and powerful leads at 9:40 and on. For me, only "Livin' in Hysteria" by Heaven's Gate can look up to this album. Long live the album that set fire to the European power metal scene!

Last note: I recommend picking up the remastered edition and listening to the B-side "Victim of Fate." "You will burn in hell!"

The Time of the Oath

One of the best Helloween albums. I know it is blasphemy, but musically better than the two Keepers. Kings Will Be Kings is my all-time favorite song.

Amazing! Forever And One is my favorite song ever! And Power! Wake Up the Mountain is amazing! Andi rules!

Truly the best. Tied with "Keeper, Part 1" for the all-time greatest effort from the band.

Walls of Jericho

The greatest Helloween album, if not the greatest album of all time. Every song on this album deserves a 9/10 or more, except Phantoms of Death. Fourteen awesome songs.

Before Helloween created Power Metal, they played Speed Metal at the highest level. Masterpiece.

How Many Tears, Ride the Sky, Metal Is the Law, Metal Invaders, etc. PERIOD! The songs speak for themselves!

The Dark Ride

The Dark Ride for me was just the perfect storm. It's dark and brooding, yet somehow uplifting. Happiness smothered in melancholy. One of my favorite albums of all time, and the title track is without equal.

It is a masterpiece. Its place is next to the two Keeper albums and Jericho. It is harder, heavier, darker, and slower than their other albums, but this is my absolute favorite after Keepers and Jericho.

This album is different from its predecessors. It is quite dark and features the best vocals of Andi Deris. It also contains the title track, which is epic, fast, and has an energy that would put the darkness to shame.

Better Than Raw

Really good album, in my opinion. My favorite songs from "Better Than Raw" are: "Push," "Falling Higher," "Hey Lord," "Time," and "I Can" (which is my favorite song from this album). Really good piece of music.

Very fast and powerful! It has so much energy, very good drumming, and so many amazing solos. The first Helloween album I ever had on cassette, and I love it so much!

Helloween reinvented Power Metal by mixing traditional European (melodic) and modern American (staccato riffs) elements.

Straight Out of Hell

It's fast, heavy, and well done. Nabataea is a masterpiece. Everything in this song is brilliant. Waiting for the Thunder is great. Make Fire Catch the Fly is fast and has clever lyrics. Church Breaks Down is also very good. Straight Out of Hell is happy and nice to hear. The ballad Hold Me in Your Arms is one of their best ballads. The bonus track Another Shot of Life could be a normal track. And Burning Sun doesn't even need to be commented on. It's an awesome song!

The best Helloween album in my opinion. Every song is a tune. Straight Out of Hell, Waiting for the Thunder, Burning Sun, and Far from the Stars stand out as the best tracks - some of the best songs Helloween has done. Absolute belters.

Master of the Rings

Are you kidding me? This is one of their best albums! It has lots of great songs, such as The Game Is On, Perfect Gentleman, and many more. You should listen to it again.

Great comeback album with my all-time favorite song: Where the Rain Grows.

For me, it's better than Time of the Oath. In my humble opinion, it must be in the top 5.

Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy

The whole set of songs complements this album very well. Each one has its own unique identity. The King for a 1000 Years is an epic masterpiece and has nothing to envy about Halloween or Keeper of the Seven Keys.

Underrated. Not their best, but Occasion Avenue, King for a 1000 Years, and Born to Judgment Day are among my favorite Helloween songs.

This album is actually really underrated. Andi Deris finally sorted his voice out.

The Newcomers

? Helloween

A dream come true. All three singers on one album: Hansen, Kiske, and Deris. Fear of the Fallen, Skyfall, Golden Times (bonus track), and We Are Real (bonus track) are absolute classics. It is not Keeper 3, but it is how they should've continued on the fourth album instead of Pink Bubbles.

? My God-Given Right

I'd give this album maybe an 8/10. I prefer certain tracks over the whole thing.

One of their best albums for sure!

The Contenders
Gambling with the Devil

This album is underrated and gets a bad reputation because of the title, but that doesn't change the fact that this is their most uplifting and positive album yet. It can't compete with Keeper, but it is deserving of number three with its incredible guitar and lyrics. After the singer got vocal lessons from Rob Halford himself, there isn't a bad song on this album. It will always be my number one. Helloween for life!

Masterpiece. One of their heaviest albums. Heavy, fast, melodic.

Chameleon

This is one of the most underrated albums of all time. Sadly, because it's such a piece of great music! And yes, it's metal, but with something else. It's not the "typical" Helloween power and speed metal. It is lighter and not so heavy, but still sounds like Helloween anyway, with some new elements and experimentation.

I actually liked Chameleon. I think the reason most Helloween fans don't is because it's not metal. However, I listen to more than just heavy metal (which isn't even my favorite music genre), so maybe that's why I like it.

Rabbit Don't Come Easy
Pink Bubbles Go Ape

Many good songs on this album: Kids of the Century, The Chance, Nr. One, Someone Is Crying...

Great album! Sounds better today than when it was released!

Actually, the music on it is good... The production is bad...
