Top 10 Best Lostprophets Songs

That blend of snarling riffs, sharp-edged synths, and lyrics that could swing from angsty to anthemic without missing a beat.

Lostprophets crashed into the early 2000s rock scene like a Molotov cocktail in a Hot Topic. Hailing from Pontypridd, Wales, they rode the wave of post-hardcore, alternative rock, emo, and nu-metal, while carving out their own lane with a slick, hook-heavy style that stood out in a sea of scream-your-lungs-out clones.

For a while, they were everywhere in the rock world. Festivals. Soundtracks. Music channels that still played music. Their songs were not just background noise. They were what you blasted before a night out, what you leaned into during a breakup, and what you screamed in your car with the windows down at 2 a.m. because, well, you had feelings and no other outlet.

Then the band's story became something horrific. Lostprophets disbanded in 2013 after former frontman Ian Watkins pleaded guilty to child sex offenses, a reality that understandably makes listening to their music impossible or deeply complicated for many people. The legacy is radioactive.

But this list is not about glorifying him. It is about the tracks. The songs people once played on repeat. The ones that got stuck in your head for days. The ones that can still spark something, even if you hate that they do.

The Top Ten
  1. Last Train Home

Absolutely epic. Best song by Lostprophets. One of the best songs I've ever heard. Right from the intro, it wrings out every ounce of emotion from within you.

The intro is about as epic as epic comes. Seriously, I just listen to this song for the intro. The rest of the song ain't bad though.

Best song on the planet! The intro, the lyrics, the solo - it's the ultimate combination of awesomeness in one song.

  2. Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)

I wrote a short story on this song, once upon a time. It has been the basis of my life for the past year. It has become tied with my favorite song of all time. This means a lot to me, and I get emotional when I hear it. It's absolutely beautiful and deserves its position as number one.

I love all Lostprophets albums, but my favorite is Liberation Transmission. This song is from Liberation Transmission, and Rooftops is my favorite song. Rooftops beats Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja and Last Train Home (even though I love those songs too).

  3. 4 AM Forever

This is an amazing song. It sounds just perfectly incredible, so I just can't figure out what the hell it's doing so low on the list. Wake up, people, and hear this beautiful song. Vote!

This is the first song I ever heard by Lostprophets and by far the best! Why the hell is it way down here on the list?! I've been hooked since I first listened and nothing will change that! Best song in the world!

This song's really, really good. Fifth place isn't good enough for this song. One of the best songs I've heard!

  4. Everyday Combat

I can't believe they didn't release this as a single back in 2006. It's easily one of the best songs on Liberation Transmission, and this list just proves my point further! This deserves a music video!

  5. We Bring an Arsenal

The best song I've ever heard. I heard it more than 100 times. This is the best song by Lostprophets. Why is this song not even in the top 3?

One of the best songs I've ever heard. This song not only makes you move but makes you listen to it again and again.

Man, how come We Bring an Arsenal isn't first on the list? I have listened to a lot of Lostprophets songs, and this one is by far the best.

  6. Where We Belong

It's impossible to choose between the many masterpieces from Lostprophets. Well, if I had to choose, I would say this one. You just can't describe it! It left me breathless the first time I listened to it. Now, I still get so excited while I listen to it.

Probably the best from their newer works. I wish it were higher up on the list. Maybe some more votes will get it there!

    Oh, take these stones away

    Start a brand new story.

I'll make it through each day

    Singing death or glory.

    Lord won't answer me

I won't let it bring me down.

I love this song. The lyrics are so good!

  7. Wake Up (Make a Move)

Best Lostprophets song ever. It's kick-ass! Love the breakdown! It should definitely be number 1. Older songs like this are way better than the new stuff.

This song kicks major ass. You can feel it right from the intro, and it just builds up. The chorus is awesome. Top 3.

This song is amazing! I can't believe that it's not in the top 3. The song is like a fire that burns in the hearts of all proper and true fans of punk and nu-metal.

  8. Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja

This song is so amazing! It's just so random-sounding I could never believe how well it worked. It's the kind of thing only Lostprophets could do, and to have the crunchy guitar, the funky bass, and the super mosh-friendly riffing is just absolutely mind-blowing!

This is the song that completes their live set. It's heavy and raw! It proves that they can be catchy without the need to go into poppy emo territory that often fails to please old fans.

The title of this song is just crazy and insane for me, Japanese. But they actually mean it. Seriously awesome. This is their trademark song ever!

  9. Start Something

How is this not in the top?! With a kick-ass riff and sweet backing screams, this song rocks and should rank up there with the best.

  10. Can't Catch Tomorrow

Lostprophets' best song in my opinion. Great lyrics, great sound, great video. Bang tidy! It should be in the top 5 at least. Rooftops is only number 1 because people know it from Guitar Hero and it's one of their only songs that get played on Kerrang etc. a lot.

This song is very nostalgic to me. There's something about it that reminds me of something I heard when I was young.

My favorite song by Lostprophets. Should be top of the list! VOTE!

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Somedays

  13. ?

    Reprazent

  14. The Contenders
  15. A Town Called Hypocrisy

Why no comments on this? This is awesome. I think it's fair to say this is the closest to "Indie Rock" Lostprophets went. In my opinion, it's definitely top 5 material. Vote.

Why is this at number nine? This song is awesome. It deserves to be in the top three at the least. Such a catchy song, man.

Such a fantastic beat. It's so catchy you just want to listen to it more and more.

  16. The Fake Sound of Progress

  17. A Million Miles

How can this song be so low? Great song. Hilarious ending. Totally epic strings. I think I heard a violin at some point in this song.

This song is absolutely amazing - one of my favorites by Lostprophets. This should really be much higher.

  18. Directions

  19. We Are Godzilla, You Are Japan

Amazing song. I showed this to a friend who didn't like Lostprophets, and he started headbanging.

  20. Last Summer

That's all I think about in this cold, snowy winter! Our last summer! Good vibes from the past.

  21. It's Not the End of the World, But I Can See It from Here

The video is so epic. This should be in the top 10. I think Where We Belong is overrated. This is better and more hardcore. The beat is so awesome. Vote for this song, everyone! It doesn't deserve this spot!

Greatest song ever! This song made me love them!

    Awesomeness from start to finish.

Just a great song. Not much else to say.

  22. The Light That Shines Twice As Bright...

  23. Burn, Burn

Easily the best song by Lostprophets. This is their trademark. They're known for this song. The guitar riff is epic.

Trademark song at number seven!? That's stupid. I can live with number 2 or 3, but 7th!? Get it sorted, people!

Even though this isn't my favorite song by them, why is this ranked so low? It's the song that got me into Lostprophets.

  24. Better Off Dead

Bring this higher up! What's it doing languishing at ninth?! This song has, by far, the most insane riffs, chorus, and introduction (after Last Train Home perhaps) ever made by Lostprophets. In fact, the entire new album is godly. Epic tracks like A Little Reminder That I'll Never Forget, The Dead, and Save Yourself are nowhere to be seen! And Bring 'Em Down is rotting at 24th for what joy?! Listen to the new album in its entirety and then you'll realize that Lostprophets keep improving with time.

This is divine! One of the best choruses Lostprophets have ever made. This deserves top 5 for sure! Lovely riffs too. Can't forget the tune.

  25. Bring 'em Down

Better be in the top 10, or else the rock gods will not be pleased. The sheer epicness of the chorus and the heavy riffs make it one of Lostprophets' best songs. Please listen to this masterpiece before voting blindly.

And Another Reminder I'll Never Forget can't be seen! What's with that?! Bring that song to the top 20 at least!

Why isn't this in the top 10? Amazing chorus, brilliant riffs, and the end is godly. One of the best songs they've ever made. And what about A Little Reminder I'll Never Forget? At least top 20.

  26. The Handsome Life of Swing

  27. I Knew You Were Trouble

  28. Gettin Kinda Hektic

  29. Davidian
