Top 10 Best Covers of Linkin Park Songs
Given how it's been eight years since Chester's passing, I figured it might be interesting to look at some of the most interesting covers of a Linkin Park song.
To specify, I'm not including the original versions of Linkin Park songs. I'm only talking about covers done as a tribute to Chester by other music artists.
-
Breaking the Habit - The Broken View
It goes for a more emotional resonance while not being as fast-paced as the original, building up its tension toward the latter half, which I think is quite impressive.
I'd say it's probably the best cover of this song, honestly. Very commendable all around as far as I'm concerned.
-
Numb - Fame on Fire
This is more of a Metalcore spin on the song, which is certainly a different approach to take. The vocals are top-notch, and the melody is very solid as far as I'm concerned. It's a cover that does justice to the original while still offering its own identity, which I think is a good approach.
-
Heavy - Our Last Night
A nice balance between melodic and heavy, and one that doesn't overstay its welcome.
I think the guest feature also helps with balancing things out so that the track doesn't feel too one-sided or one-dimensional as a whole.
-
Burn It Down - Halocene
An interesting female cover that I'd say is pretty enjoyable. It has grit, distortion, and a buildup that feels emotional and genuine while also still standing out in a way that just works in a way I can get behind.
-
Breaking the Habit - Affiance
-
Numb - Caleb Hyles
-
In the End - NateWantsToBattle
Arin Hanson's inclusion gives the cover a little bit of oomph for me and is honestly pretty enjoyable.
It serves as a nice contrast to Nate's clean vocals, which are already solid on their own, and it's a commendable cover all around.

Castle of Glass - Halocene

Points of Authority - Set It Off

Crawling - Tommy Vext
