She's known for her unique style of writing, and impersonating characters in creating her songs and forming her albums.
Most of the comments seem to be about best voices that's really not the same as most distinctive. Although I actually do think Marina has a very distinctive voice.
Just listen to her without autotune, all of her songs are much better than all of Taylor Swift's songs.

Her voice is instantly recognizable and has become widely admired in the 8 short months since she broke into public view.
With so many milquetoast voices in popular music, it's a breath of fresh air to hear from a songwriter who can not only craft amazing songs, but can deliver them vocally in a unique and moving way.
I've never heard anyone like Grace, such a soothing rasp that can make any song she sings sound incredible.
