Once you hear the voice on the radio or on T.V., you immediately know who is singing.
The Top Ten
Marina and the Diamonds Marina Lambrini Diamandis, better known by her stage name "Marina and The Diamonds", is a Welsh singer-songwriter. Born in Bryn Mawr and raised in nearby Pandy, she moved to London as a teenager in order to achieve her dream of being a singer. Most of the comments seem to be about best voices. That's really not the same as most distinctive. Although, I actually do think Marina has a very distinctive voice.

Just listen to her without autotune. All of her songs are much better than all of Taylor Swift's songs.

I'm listening to Bubblegum now, it's great!

Amy Lee Amy Lynn Hartzler, known professionally as Amy Lee, is an American singer-songwriter, classically trained pianist and composer. She is also the lead singer to the Arkansas band Evanescence.
K.S. Chithra Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra, often credited as K. S. Chithra or simply Chithra, is an Indian playback singer from Kerala. Chithra also sings Indian classical, devotional, and popular music.

K.S. Chithra has possibly one of the widest vocal ranges and is able to capture every single emotion known to man with her voice.

Her voice is extremely unique. That impresses me a lot. The way she controls from a low note and then jumps to the super high notes is amazing.

I know there are a lot of great singers, but no one stands out to me like Chithra. She has a heart of gold and a beautiful soul, and she sings with such pure and raw emotion.

For sure. Her voice is so unique. That's why I like her so much. I don't like hearing the same types of voices all the time. It's time for some real singing.

She is one of a kind, so is her voice and singing style. Quirky.

At least somewhere I can see her place well deserved.

Celine Dion Céline Marie Claudette Dion is a Canadian singer and businesswoman. She is best known for her song "My Heart Will Go On", which is the main theme of the 1997 film Titanic, which was the first film to gross $1 billion at the box office.

I love Celine's voice. Timeless!

Dido Dido Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong, known as Dido, is a British singer and songwriter.

Dido is such a beautiful girl with an angelic voice. I can name many songs by her that stand out: from her newer song Hurricanes, to her 2000 hit Thank You. The beginning verse of Thank You is even sampled in one of the best songs of all time, which is Stan by Eminem. Dido is an instant throwback to the 1990s, an underrated queen in my opinion.

Everybody tries to imitate her, which is the reason why she is not on the top. Her vocal range and her melismas can't be replicated.

I've always been a big fan of Mariah Carey. No one has a beautiful voice like Mariah's, except Celine Dion of course, in the female artists category.

She can go so high that she sounds like a bird!

Shania Twain Shania Twain is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She has sold over 100 million records, making her the best-selling female artist in country music history and among the best-selling music artists of all time.

Anytime I'm listening to the radio, and a Shania Twain song comes on, as soon as she starts singing, I know it's her. I think she has one of those voices that anyone can recognize right away.

This singer-songwriter and Columbia recording artist won season 11 of AGT in 2016. Her debut album broke Billboard's top ten (and they also named her to their 2016 21-under-21 list). She has a phenomenal vocal range, and her raspy voice crackles and then lands precisely pitch-perfect on the note it needs to hit. Her voice is instantly recognizable and has become widely admired in the eight short months since she broke into public view.

With so many milquetoast voices in popular music, it's a breath of fresh air to hear from a songwriter who can not only craft amazing songs but can deliver them vocally in a unique and moving way.
