Top 10 Music Artists with the Most Annoying Stereotypes
Ah, stereotypes are so annoying, regardless of what they relate to. I'll be focusing on some stereotypes about a few artists. If I missed one, feel free to add it.
Basically, a stereotype is a false generalization about something or someone that is ultimately not true.

Linkin Park - All of their songs sound the same, all of their songs are edgy, etc
Linkin Park is an American alternative rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The current members include Mike Shinoda (vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Brad Delson (guitar), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bass), Joe Hahn (DJ), Emily Armstrong (vocals), and Colin Brittain (drums). Linkin Park... read more
Lol, whoever said that definitely only listened to their first two albums. As a big fan of Linkin Park, I know they always change their style in every album except the first two. For example, listen to Hands Held High, Iridescent, Roads Untraveled, Final Masquerade, and Battle Symphony (those are from their 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th albums respectively). Then compare them to their first two albums. If you still think they sound the same, you're deaf.
Not all of their songs sound the same. A few might, but not all of them do. Songs like Leave Out All the Rest, My December, Shadow of the Day, Iridescent, Burning in the Skies, Castle of Glass, Roads Untraveled, and others are not edgy.
-
Nickelback - Their songs have no meaning, they have no talent, etc
Nickelback is a Canadian post-grunge band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. The band consists of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair.... read more
I don't agree with any of those stereotypes because songs like Because of You and Just to Get High do have meaning. Because of You is a song about self-harm, and Just to Get High is about the dangers of drug addiction. Plus, they aren't talentless, and the hate they get is really annoying.
Most of their songs feel meaningless to me, but they do have a couple of good tracks I haven't explored much yet.
Feed the Machine seemed fairly meaningful and showed they had talent.
-

He's controversial, but I don't think his music is devil worship.
With that makeup, he doesn't look satanic.
At least he has a good personality!

Green Day - They sold out, they pander to emos, they're not punk, etc
Green Day are an American pop-punk and punk rock band formed in East Bay, California, in 1987. Trying a different music style is not selling out. Also, they don't pander to "emos," and they definitely are punk, considering they have the aggressive "I DON'T CARE" punk attitude.
Green Day is too upbeat for emos. I do agree with the sellout part, though.
They're punk, not emo, but yeah, I do think they've sold out.

Yeah, I know it's annoying to include him on every list in existence, but Christ, the Bieber has gotten very stale. I'm no fan of his, but he's not the worst thing ever made. He can sing, but it's just very mediocre.
The Bieber haters are basically beating a dead horse. I'm not a fan of him, but he's mediocre and pretty irrelevant now.
See his cover of Let It Be live. That's enough to convince you he's a respectable musician.

Love Story isn't. You Belong With Me isn't. Shake It Off isn't. The list goes on. And so what if she sings about her exes? She has a good voice and catchy songs.

Shake It Off isn't about a breakup.

My Chemical Romance - They're emo

The lineup since the band's 2019 reunion includes lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way, with Jarrod Alexander serving as a touring drummer. Bob Bryar was the drummer from 2004... read more
For everyone saying that they're emo, understand that emo is a genre, and one that My Chemical Romance isn't. Just because they get labeled as emo doesn't make them emo. Do you want to know why they get referred to as emo? Because their first album had a lot of elements of actual emo.
If you want to try out true emo, listen to Rites of Spring or Cap'n Jazz. Stop judging an artist because of their style. Even if you aren't a fan, give them the respect they deserve. I've listened to a few of their non-singles, and some of those lyrics are awesome. They're not a band I listen to much, but I could probably get into them someday.
Another problem is that people judge an artist's whole discography after listening to just a few singles. Sometimes you have to dive much deeper to find the true gems. I used to hate this band simply because I thought it was an "emo band," but then I actually gave them a chance, and I learned to respect them. I haven't listened to too many of their songs, but there are some great ones out there - ones I would have completely missed if I had kept judging and labeling them as "emo."
Just because teenage girls who call themselves "emo" listen to something, it doesn't automatically make it emo. I doubt that any of these "emos" actually listen to real emo music.
In short, My Chemical Romance aren't emo. Although I am not a huge fan, I have a lot of respect for these guys, and I honestly wish I had never judged them in the first place. Please, stop with the emo label. It's annoying and really shows your ignorance. Don't call My Chemical Romance emo unless you happen to be listening to their first, slightly emo-inspired album.
-
Travis Scott - He only knows how to use autotune
I agree that he uses a lot of autotune in his songs, but he has many tracks where he raps normally without it.
-
Lil Pump - All of his songs are trash

Onika Tanya Maraj, known professionally as Nicki Minaj (born December 8, 1982), is a Trinidadian-American rapper and pop artist. She is widely recognized for hits like "Anaconda," "Super Bass," "Starships," and her feature on "Bang Bang."... read more
Granted, she has made a few songs about sex, but surprisingly, she made a decent song called Grand Piano - something I honestly wouldn't expect from her. Not all of her songs are about sex, but the ones that are definitely suck. She has talent, but chooses not to show it, and it's frustrating.
She is talented. Some of her popular songs are her worst, but she has a lot of meaningful songs like Grand Piano and All Things Go. Her most undiscovered songs are some of her best work.
Actually, she does have talent. She has good verses on many songs that feature her too.
-
Trippie Redd - All he says is "Big 14" and screams
Michael Lamar White IV, known professionally as Trippie Redd, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He gained popularity with his debut mixtape A Love Letter to You in 2017. He is known for his melodic style and genre-blending approach to hip hop and rock music.
Trippie has toned the yelling down, probably because he's matured or for other reasons. But his yelling does take time to get used to.
