Worst Music Artists of the 2010s

The Top Ten
One Direction One Direction (commonly abbreviated as 1D) were a British-Irish pop boy band based in London, composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and previously, Zayn Malik until his departure from the band on 25 March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records... read more

Polluting the industry with their depressingly poor pop music, One Direction may capture the hearts of teenage girls worldwide, but everyone knows most of it isn't their own work.

Their music is annoying, they have little talent, and they don't even seem to like their own music. Plus, their fanbase is mostly made up of young girls ages 9-12.

They're judged based on their looks, not their talent.

I can't understand why people listen to this garbage. Their songs are a joke, and the vocals are terrible.

Nicki Minaj Onika Tanya Maraj, known professionally as Nicki Minaj (born December 8, 1982) is a Trinidadian/American rapper / pop music artist. Minaj is most known for her songs such as "Anaconda", "Super Bass", "Starships" and her feature on "Bang Bang"... read more

This horrible person ruined rap music. Her voice is so annoying, and her songs are only about sex. Rap was good back in the '90s and early 2000s with 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, and Eminem. Now it's just garbage.

The worst music artist ever, beyond a doubt. I hate everything - and I mean everything - about her.

She is worse than One Direction, in my opinion. Her songs are repetitive and annoying.

Justin Bieber Justin Drew Bieber (born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He currently resides in Ontario, Canada and is Christian. He is the son of author Pattie Mallette... read more

Justin Bieber has remained quieter this decade and even announced his retirement. However, this doesn't change the fact that he has still released some abysmal records and has filled radio airspace with singles that few people truly enjoy.

This guy ruined pop music and the entire music industry. He uses way too much autotune, and when he isn't lip-syncing, he sounds like a choking cow. He's also a horrible person, being so rude to his own fans. And now he's called the "Prince of Pop"? Michael Jackson must be rolling in his grave!

Miley Cyrus Miley Ray Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus), known professionally as Miley Cyrus, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee, to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. Her voice type is Mezzo-Soprano and spans 4 octaves... read more

She wasn't always that bad, but her voice now sounds terrible due to excessive drug use. I mean, come on! She can't even sing "Wrecking Ball" on key. Her AMA performance was painful to listen to, and the VMA performance was just ridiculous. Her antics are getting old, and I don't think she'll last much longer. As for her singing, the talent she once had is gone. She sounds sick and manly every time she performs her new songs live. Sorry, Milerz.

She's a bad example and not a very good singer. Party in the USA was probably her best song, and that came out, what, five years ago?

Hannah Montana was actually what made her popular, but now that it's off the air, nobody really remembers her. Plus, her new movie *So Undercover* isn't very good. *Yawn.*

PSY Park Jae-sang (Korean: 박재상, born December 31, 1977), better known by his stage name Psy, stylized as PSY, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, record producer, and rapper... read more

Pop was so much better back in the '80s with artists like Michael, Madonna, Prince, and Whitney. Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Bieber, Gaga, and Timberlake ruined pop music. Taylor, you'll never be as good as Whitney.

Why do people like this piece of garbage? Just because she's cute doesn't mean she's a great singer. Taylor, you are nothing.

She is worse than Justin Bieber. At least he doesn't write songs about his ex-lovers like she does.

Carly Rae Jepsen Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian singer and songwriter from Mission, British Columbia, and later based in Vancouver. She is best known for her hit song "Call Me Maybe" which topped many charts in 2012.

Call Me Maybe? No, more like Call Me Never. This song is stupid and overly repetitive.

The Chainsmokers The Chainsmokers are an American DJ and production duo consisting of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart. The EDM-pop duo achieved a breakthrough with their 2014 song "#Selfie", which was a top twenty single in several countries.

Rebecca Black Rebecca Black is a YouTube personality and singer who's infamous for her 2011 single "Friday," which was the most disliked video on YouTube until "Baby" by Justin Bieber became the most disliked video in 2012. She has also released other songs, including "My Moment" and "Saturday".

Remember the abomination of a "song" called Friday that came out in 2011? If I didn't know any better, I'd say she sounded like a dying animal.

I hate her nasal voice. She sounds like she snorted something with cat hair in it when she was seven. Annoying.

The Contenders

The worst artist of this decade.

She doesn't respect our queen.

She copied my five favorite female singers: Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, and Beyonce. I bet she's trying to be like a bad version of Madonna.

All her songs seem to promote revenge, murder, and violence (how classy!), or they push for eliminating the separation of church and state in America. Maybe this is why the Religious Right loves her music so much, even though she promotes violence and murder.

Sorry, Madonna fans, but she is from the 1980s. Her time singing should be over. She sounds like a worse version of Britney Spears.

I can't stand Rihanna anymore. Her old music was fine, but now? Ugh.

Diamonds was awful, and We Found Love was terrible too. I wonder where her talent went.

Try to understand the reasons or motivations behind songs like Believer or Enemy and what the band means when they sing them. Then you realize their music is basically made to have small segments used in other media, not to tell meaningful stories.

A part of me dies every time someone calls this "rock."

They're pretty bad, in my opinion.
