The author of a series of unfortunate events. What I admire most about him is his distinct style of writing. You'd be hard pressed to find a style of writing much like his. If his work depresses or confuses you, well I don't blame you, even he is constantly saying it's miserable, but I find if your looking for some thing that keeps you on your toes, try his books.
Why hasn't anyone put her in here? Come on people! She is the queen of vampire literature, among other things. Her characters are sexy, badass and awesome in general. Stephanie Meyer ain't got nothing on her amazing Vampire Chronicles, which actually made one the most successful authors of all time. Haven't read her? Do it NOW.
