Top 10 Parakeet Species
Older spellings that are still used sometimes are paroquet or paraquet.A parakeet is any small to medium-sized species of parrot, in multiple genera. Not all parrots are parakeets and larger species are usually called parrots (macaws, amazons) but the parrot/parakeet debate is quite confusing because of the terminology mess.
Parakeets of all varieties generally have long tail feathers, high intelligence and extremely social nature.
Some of the birds on this list are great vocal imitators and some people learned that the hard way when heard their pets swearing, haha.

It's probably the most common parakeet and the third most popular pet in the world, after cats and dogs. Budgerigars are loved mainly because they can be easily trained and are great companions for any age. They learn to talk quite well and some of them develop vocabularies consisting of hundreds of words. They are cute and comical, and they can learn tricks, too. Also, they are quieter than most of their cousins and they don't require much space because they are small. They are easy to care for.

Jendays have been a popular pet for many years.
