They are two totally different species, and I really wish people would stop comparing them as much as they do. The biggest and most obvious difference is that wolves are wild, and dogs are domesticated. Anyway, wolves are still really awesome creatures.

Let's see, we have one who is pretty strong and looks really cool, and has a lot of other cool stuff, and one who can fly, breathe fire, has really hard scales that are hard to break, can bite down hard, sometimes can spit acid, is really smart, and sometimes has a tail with spikes. Hmm, it's really hard to decide. Oh, I know, maybe the dragon because it has two very important advantages: it can fly and can breathe fire. So, how is a tiger cooler than a dragon? Mythical beats normal any day. But, it all depends on what type of dragon. But in general, dragons are the coolest thing ever.
