Top Ten Best Bands of All Time

Top ten bands of all time. Ok, it can be anything as long as it's a group of people not a solo singer.
The Top Ten
The Beatles The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They were soon known as the foremost and most influential act of rock era. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented more.

The Beatles and Queen, they were, are, and will forever be no doubt the greatest bands ever. They are way better than Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. Although I like both bands the same, The Beatles is more influential and they are the best selling music artist. Sure, I agree that Freddie is the best vocalist, rock singer, and frontman of all time, Brian is a better guitarist, Roger is a better drummer, Queen didn't make that much influence than The Beatles. Also, The Beatles is a little more popular. Some of you said that how is The Beatles higher than Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd, well, this is the answer. I saw a guy said that some modern bands are way better than The Beatles. Who? No other bands or singers can change music and influence other music artists as much as what The Beatles did. The Beatles change music forever.

If you say they're overrated you haven't listened to them properly. After 1965 they got out of those stupid suits and got extremely mature. Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour and Abbey Road, these are the records that defined what good inventive rock music should sound like.

One word: Obviously.
They are the best for many reasons, 2 of the greatest songwriters and male singers, one of the greatest drummers, and another amazing songwriter and guitarist. They released so many amazing songs, Some of the best albums, and tons of billboard toppers. Not only that, they are the most influential band of all time.

Transcend the genre. The most indispensable band that set a standard that's never been matched. Paved the way for all that followed.

Queen Queen are an English rock band formed in 1970. Members were Freddie Mercury (Vocals and Piano), Brian May (Guitar, Vocals), Roger Taylor (Drums, Vocals), and John Deacon (Bass Guitar, Vocals). Before forming into Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had played together in a band named Smile. Freddie Mercury more.

I think when you look at all sorts numbers of sales and ratings of music, theoretically the beatles, led zeppelin and others are better. I can see why most people might prefer them, but come on it's HER MAJESTY QUEEN. Listening to their music has been an incredible expirience and I love their live shows. It really makes me sad that I'll never get the chance to see Freddie and Deacy perform with them. All of the members were in form and their songwriting was brilliant. From songs that have become household staples like somebody to love and Bohemian rhapsody to their lesser known work like In the lap of the gods revisited and love kills these guys really have a wide catalogue with quality material.

Freddie: very energetic and lively with smart ideas he brings to life. He sings like an angel. I'd say his songwriting is only rivaled by Paul McCartney and John Lennon

Deacy: Great bass player, inspired me to play bass. His baselines are impeccable and are often overlooked. I ...more

Just watches bohemian rhapsody and became a greater fan of it as it has faced so many obstacles to become a band that is really the queen and the king of all other bands. It tells the amount of perseverance and tenacity the band has shown specially Freddie Mercury as he still made songs till his last breath suffering from such a terrible disease. It tells their life of making one of the biggest (in all terms) songs in history of music making songs that made a revolution.
Salute! to this band and specially Freddie Mercury .

All of the bands on this list are amazing but I think Queen is a little better. All the band members were so different but they all went together. Queen always has music to offer for every one of your moods and they never disappoint. I can't think of one song of theirs that was even just a little bit bad. Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, Brian May, and John Deacon felt so connected with the audience. I've never been to one of their concerts and I wasn't even alive when they performed but even when I watch videos of their concerts it feels as if I'm there. I haven't watched Bohemian Rhapsody and I'm still in love with Queen. This just goes to show that people nowadays don't only love Queen because of the movies. Again, all the bands on this list are amazing and have so much to offer but in my opinion, Queen has just a bit more.

Queen is absolutely amazing, they came up with so many rock classics like we will rock u, bohemian rhapsody and we are the champions. They were very experimental, they tried things that other bands wouldn’t dream of doing, thus making their music unique and better. They gave what the people wanted, at first people wanted hard and glam rock, so they gave them that, later in the people wanted more pop rock so the did that, they adapted to the changing world around them. They new how to tame and interact with the crowd, for hours and hours making them grate performers as well. My favorite song is one of their last songs from the album Innuendo, the show must go on, the song is just so powerful and emotional. So yeah, to sum it all up QUEEN is an amazing band and deserve our love and attention

Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums). The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition more.

I'm voting Zeppelin above the two bands above them, Queen and The Beatles based on the fact that they proved themselves to be incredibly capable both in the studio and more importantly, live (unlike The Beatles, who were mainly a studio band), and because each member was equally important to the sound of the band, unlike Queen, who had most of the attention focused on Freddie Mercury. Zeppelin were so good because of the incredible interplay between John Bonham and John Paul Jones (just look at Dazed and Confused live), the soaring vocals of Robert Plant the the otherwordly guitar skills of Jimmy Page, who exceeded as both a rhythm player, a great 'feel' lead player and a crazy shredder. But if one of those sections was removed, the whole band would have fallen apart, as they did after Bonham's death. It is for these reasons that I vote Led Zeppelin as the greatest band ever.

It always surprises me when I hear about how great the Beatles were, after all since I could talk I was groomed to think this, and then I found Led Zeppelin. I've looked at all the supposed greatest bands of all time and I still love Zeppelin. In terms of lyrical value, Zeppelin isn't as good, same goes for vocals, at times. But lyrics aren't as important, you can feel so much more from amazing instrumental work. Listen to the the Beatle's highest praised songs and Zeppelin has multiple ones that beat them anyday. Also, I love both bands, but its very clear who takes what category.

Led Zeppelin is a very interesting band since their music still sounds alien to us today. Zeppelin was a combination of 4 amazing talents from 4 wonderful musicians. This made them stand out from the crowd. I understand if you are a Queen fan, and that's ok, but Zeppelin was a band that shaped an uncoutable number of genres and they defined the 70', with their innovative music.

This is the dummest list I've ever seen. first of all, why are Queen above Zeppelin I agree with the person below me about that one. Also what is green day doing on this list? Why are metallica above AC DC and Black Sabbath whould be at 5 at least. Speaking of Black Sabbath, in what universe are imagine dragons better than them. Imagine dragons don't even deserve to be on this list. THERE NOT EVEN A ROCK BAND.

Pink Floyd Pink Floyd was an English progressive rock band formed in 1965 in London, England. They achieved international acclaim with their progressive and psychedelic music. The band consisted of 5 members - David Gilmour (Vocals and Guitar), Syd Barrett (Vocals and Guitar), Nick Mason (Drums), Roger Waters more.

I think Pink Floyd is the best rock band in the world. In addition to the amazing soundscapes that are on all of Pinks Floyd's albums, it is also because they create the most coherent concept albums.
I confess that my opinion is colored by the fact that I listen most to symphonic and progressive rock music. I love music where you are emotionally dragged around the mane, first by quiet passages where you get choked on the cheek- then suddenly you are knocked to the ground by hard hitting passages. it's typically Pink Floyd.

The Floyd don't belong here any more than Tchaikovsky.
They are not a 'band'. At least 3 of their albums need to be in a leaugue that includes Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue' (check it out) or Bethoventh 9th. Seminal concert experiences. The fact they appear here at all is testament to magnitude of their impact. The Beatles and Queen wrote better pop and better songs, but Pink Floyd produced Symphonies, experiences. Not one song as good as the Beatles (for example) but at least 3 albums that eclipse Sgt Pepper.

The perfect combination of haunting soundscapes, conceptual and intellectual engagement, transcendent concerts, studio wizardry, beautiful solos, inventive structures, iconic album artwork, yet accessibility. The Beatles were the first, Floyd were the masters
It says a lot that DSOTM can be considered the greatest album of all time but the jury's out on whether it's even the greatest Pink Floyd album

This has to be at #1. They delivered emotions through music. From the dark side of the Moon to Division Bell. Almost all of The albums were concept albums. This band transformed music into sheer emotions!

Metallica Metallica is an American Thrash Metal band formed in 1981 . The original lineup was James Hetfield (Vocalist and Rhythm guitarist), Dave Mustaine (Lead Guitar), Lars Ulrich (Drums), Ron McGovney (Bassist). The group came into mainstream from their Self-Titled album and the hit single "Enter Sandman". more.

Metallica are the best band ever. Just listen to their discography. Even their weakest albums like St. Anger or Reload are great to me, they are a big inspiration and they got me into Heavy Metal music. When I first heard Master Of Puppets I was blown away by their sound. They are not the fastest band, heaviest or even most complex, but their songs are so well structured that they albums are very memorable and iconic, specially their first 5. To me, Ride The Lightning or Justice are their best, and one of the greatest Metal records of all time. Amazing band.

Metallica is the best band ever period.
Their songs are so well written, full of emotions and faces real problems.
The riffs they wrote are the most iconic riffs in rock history: Master of puppets, one, fade to black, for whom the bell tolls, battery and the list goes on and on...
Heavy iconic riffs, fast melodic solos, best song writing, james legendary vocals, you can't find it anywhere else.
They are so talented, technically sound, creative and have no boundaries.
Not to mention that they are still playing live and kicking ass after 38 years and counting...
long live METALLICA

Metallica is just the most well rounded and toughest band out there. They have great melodies and intense power chord usage

Lmao Metallica sucks. They haven't released anything good in decades. They're music is completely overrated and their off-stage antics (Lars Ulrich in particular) are annoying. There are so many bands listed below them who are infinitely more talented than Metallica. Metallica doesn't even belong anywhere near the top ten list. They're not even the best metal band of all time.

The Rolling Stones The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. The first settled line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums). more.

I'd say the Rolling Stones are the best band of all time, not my favourite. but the best. They have been around forever. These guys have made some of the best songs in music history [Satisfaction, Gimme Shelter, Paint It Black, Angie, You
Can't Always Get What You Want] Almost every song from these guys are musical masterpieces.

Rival the Beatles in their influence in shaping Rock and Roll. Raunchy, self-absorbed musicians that demand you pay attention. And we do.

Better than the Beatles, but with less main stream pop. Smarter and more Real than Led Zeppelin. I’ll always love them more than Metallic, AC/D3, and Metallica (most mainstream metal is unlistenable or just badd). Now I have to give them the vote. They are rock by definition: like soul music sped up or like blues and jazz but with a more modernized fast rage.
I’ll always love the truest rock band ever made.

Explain to me why Metallica is higher then Rolling Stones, these guys are second best, other then the Beatles, the stones are awesome, Queen wasnt even even that popular for its time, suck it up. Street fighting man, sympathy for the devil, gimme shelter, ruby Tuesday, those are some of the best ever songs, suck it up the stones are great, and if you think they are bad, then YOU ARE CRAZY. The Rolling Stones are awesome

Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band. more.

Nirvana was and still one of the most influential bands of all time. They changed the direction of music and shaped the entire 90'. It (in my opinion of course) should be above the band "Mettalica", since I think Nirvana was a more "defying" band. It not only influenced grunge, metal, punk etc. but music in general.

You could say The Beatles and Led Zeppelin are true figures in Rock. but Nirvana not only showed people the good in this rebellion of Music, but it really showed heart realism and passion yes Queen and Zeppelin shows powerful and loud music, but Nirvana was one of the first bands to deal with personal problems and sadness depression, it's not for everyone, but everyone should at least know and respect this band

I'd say that nirvana should be higher because of their skill to make so many hit songs with unfortunately such short time. Although some of their songs are not complex, the music is terrific, plus they basically jump started grunge. The most impactful point is how ever since they've come out, people of all ages know and listen to them. Lastly they created the best rock song of all time, Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Yes I may be a teenager but my opinion still matters. Kurt Donald cobain is one of the major influences of my life. Kurt said that people read to much in his music and try's to make it what it is not, but true nirvana fans do not have to have an explanation on what certain things in his music meant we just know that when we listen to it we are at home and have a place to fit in.

Green Day Green Day are an American pop punk, punk rock, and alternative rock band formed in East Bay, California in 1986. The members include Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), Tré Cool (drums) and Jason White (guitar) . Green Day are associated with punk rock, pop punk and alternative more.

Obviously Green Day is a very popular band, probably the most well known pop punk band, but as for this list I think it could be replaced with another band like Van Halen or Black Sabbath.

Green Day should be in the top ten. They have songs of many different genres, such as Punk Rock, Pop Punk, Alternative Rock, Power Pop, Garage Rock, Acoustic, Ska and even Screamo. Tre Cool is probably one of the best drummers on Earth, and Mike Dirnt is probably one of the best bassists ever. Billie Joe's lyrics were good at first, but they just keep getting better and better. His vocals are also improving over time. Some of his guitar solos (especially from the early albums) are absolutley insane. They have sold over 75 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best selling artists of all time. 'Dookie' is certified as diamond in the USA, and it is the best selling punk album and also the 57th best selling album of all time. They have stood the test of time, as they have been together for 30 years. They are also one of the most influential bands ever, inspiring many other artists such as Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Lady Gaga, Busted, McFly, Steve Rushton, ...more

They are the best band ever. They have changed the world with their music. Just listen to basket case, when I come around, good riddance and holiday and then you will see how amazing they are. vote for green day so they can be at number 1 which is where they deserve to be

Green day, they are the back talking anarchy type of band. To me they are the definition of rebellious teenagers. They are also one of the most rebellious bands to have come around so far. And they are the band to turn to when you either want to cry, or just be alone and say f the world. And we all seem to love it and always will.

AC/DC AC/DC are a Australian hard rock band, formed in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who continued as members until Malcolm's illness and departure in 2014 . They were fronted by Bon Scott until his untimely death due to alcohol poisoning in 1979, after which they hired Brian Johnson more.

For me, AC/DC is the best band. Pure energy and very exciting kind of band. They wont make you cry or feel lonely. They will make you feel wild and increase your energy like you want to jump and shout. Even though they are very repetitive kind of band, their songs will always remain played either on radio, T.V., or movies like iron man. I don't focus much on the technicality of a song or how much complicated the style of the song is but, I only focus on what feelings do I feel when I hear the songs being played by the band. Less creative but, their lead guitarist(Angus Young) is very energetic and really expresses his guitar playing like he own the stage. Mixing it with Malcom Young's Riff, they were like a monster team. I don't know if there is still a band like them, nowadays.
My own list of band ranking(Top 10):
1.) AC/DC
2.) Guns N' Roses
3.) Eagles
4.) Journey
5.) Fire House
6.) Queen
7.) U2
8.) The Script
9.) Red Hot Chili Peppers
10.) The Beatles

They managed to climb back to nr 1 band after their lead singer died, it's 2000's and people still listen to it and use it commercials. AC/DC are the beatles counterpart in hard rock. in my oppinion 1. beatles 2 sc/dc 3 queen/led zepplin 4 rollingstones 5 pink floyd. Let's be real which bands will people continue to listen and how many iconic songs have they made. Having a spot at nr 9 is a joke. You're telling me the nr 1 hard rock band isn't higher? come on guys are you for real voting Green Day above AC/DC?

ACDC is by far the best do you wanna know why well theywere a good band and then they started cracking with the high voltage album and TNT and the they became humoungously famous with highway to hell but their amazing singer bonn schott died because of over drinking but then bryan johnson came and he made the back in black album he f n cracked it it became the 2nd best selling album of all time then he makes the razors edge black ice and a bunch of other great albums that don't need to be mentioned the only band recoverd from a huge drop and becoming this legendary they are still making albums after 40 bloody years wait a sec I gotta escort angus young across the road cya!

There are some albums where every song sounds exactly the same. Apart from Thunderstruck, I think they've hyped them too much.
A very repetitive band, shouldn't be compared to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Rolling Stones and least of all The Beatles.

Guns N' Roses Guns N' Roses is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles formed in 1985. The classic lineup, as signed to Geffen Records in 1986, consisted of vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. Apart from hard rock they are also more.

Something is wrong with the people that have been voting here so far... Chester is undoubtedly the greatest. I mean, who else can do a full 17-seconds-scream AND cover an Adele-song in such an absolutely breathtaking way? Check out the outro of Faint @ Rock am Ring 2007 and come back to the voting afterwards!

How is it possible to Tokio Hotel to be in 2nd Place? For God's Sake, Guns N' Roses are without any doubt the best band ever! Everyone knows Sweet Child O'Mine and November Rain, not to mention Welcome To The Jungle. Every time I hear Slash's solos, I go to heaven.

Guns and roses, hm hard to explain. They give you a sense of what was and is to come although they are no longer together they will forever continue to enrich people's lives.

They should be on top 5
You can't deny that every song of this band are just fantastic

The Newcomers

? Eurythmics Eurythmics were a British music duo consisting of members Annie Lennox and David A. Stewart. Stewart and Lennox were both previously in the band The Tourists, who split up in 1980; Eurythmics were formed that year in London.
? Vazelina Bilopphøggers
The Contenders
Iron Maiden Iron Maiden are an English Heavy Metal / Hard Rock band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. The most critically acclaimed period for the band was from 1983-1989. With vocalist Bruce Dickinson, bassist Steve Harris, lead guitarist Dave Murray, rhythm more.

It is so sad to see Iron Maiden on 13 place. what is wrong with people, rank it under The Beach Boys, Green Day, Nirvana... Overrating is such a thing nowdays. I'm should be definitely top 10!

Iron Maiden rules! My favorite band of all time ever since I discovered them at age 16. I needed tp find something that sounded like Dio, especially from the album Heaven and Hell by Black although I was also super into Holy Diver and other DIo albums of that time period. I found Iron Maiden and was even more impressed and found myself loving them more than any other band.

Iron Maiden is not only the greatest metal band of all time, but the greatest band period! No other group has put out so many good albums, have so many amazing songs, and are so incredible live! If you have never experienced Maiden, do yourself a favour and listen to their incredible catalogue of music. You will not be disappointed! Up the Irons!

Best heavy metal vocalist, drummer, lead and bass guitarist. Their songs are so diverse in its sound and lyrics and themes while still keeping iron maiden's style. The trooper, run to the Hills, number of the beast etc are some of the best songs of all time and have u seen their live shows?! Even in old age they still nail it on stage.

Linkin Park Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The members currently include Mike Shinoda (vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Brad Delson (guitar), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bass), Joe Hahn (DJ) and Rob Bourdon (drums). Linkin Park are associated with a mixture of Alternative more.

Looks like every generation has its own top band, meanwhile I do not know what is this so inspiring and motivating in Beatles songs...more bands - harder competition, in old times there were only the ones that are in top 5 now and hold there thanks to 60s and 70s, who are still alive

Should deserve to Be in top3... greatest band...pack of highly skilled musicians.. Chester Bennington is most humble frontman..Mike is one of best rapper alive...and they sold more than 100 million records

LINKIN PARK has a massive legacy with a giant following that is still growing day by day. Love them or hate them.. Linkin Park has proven the test of time and earned it's place among the greatests.

Great to see linkin park in this list, but where is Backstreet boys,i am very sad and angry about the fact that they are unable to make their name in this list,i search all first 300 names on this list I couldn't find their name, guys I am telling the truth, they are the best BOY BAND of all time.Go and listen their songs like "Shape of my heart" and "i want it that way" and many more.even the bands like Coldplay, and skillet make their name on this list and Backstreet Boys not, well that SUCKS, I am requesting to everyone please vote for Backstreet boys

Rush Rush was a Canadian progressive rock band that was formed in 1968. Even though the only founding member still in the band is Alex Lifeson (Guitar), the band is most well-known for their current members Neil Peart (Drums) and Geddy Lee (Bass, Vocals). more.

Easily the most influential prog band, neil peart is insane, geddy lee is insane, alex lifeson is extremely underrated and incredibly talented, none of these other bands aside from led zep can merely comprehend and capture the skill and heart that goes into each of their songs. one of very few bands to keep the same lineup for over 40 years.

One of the bests,
Geddy's bass is the best
Niel's drumming is unrivaled
Lifeson's guitar is too underrated
Love them, they're amazing for Canadians 😂. Just kidding

Okay every fan of any kind of rock music (metal and alternative included) should have every rock band in front of idiotic one direction.

It's not just Neil Peart that gets all the credit: the amazing solos by Lifeson, and the incredible talents by Lee.

The Who The Who is an English rock band formed in London, England in 1964. The most recognizable lineup was Roger Daltrey (lead vocals), Pete Townshend (guitar), John Entwistle (bass guitar), and Keith Moon (drums). They are best known for their live performances and hit songs Baba O'Riley, My Generation, and more.

The Who should be in the Top 10 in my opinion.
A list of the greatest rock bands without The Who in it is like a trial without evidence!

Baba o reily, my generation, I can see for miles, pinball wizard. These songs are all legendary rock songs and are made by one of the best bands in the world. The who. They even Inspired back mason, drummer of Pink Floyd to start learning drums. That's how good they are.

Anyone who says The Who are an overrated and horrible band is at the same level of intelligence as a dead rat!

All had amamazin solo careers after they split, the live performances were to die for and they made great movies as well.

Aerosmith Aerosmith is an American rock band, sometimes referred to as "the Bad Boys from Boston" and "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band".

Aerosmith needs to be higher. They are the "Bad Boys from Boston" and they rule! They got so many great albums/hits and they are a rock legend! Definitely one of the best and most influential bands in the world! Aerosmith forever!

One of the greatest rock bands ever. They're talented and they have good songs and great live performances.

Some amazing hits that get you singing passionately along

Best band ever. they have 2 of my favorite songs and should be at least top 10

Bon Jovi Bon Jovi is a hard rock band formed in 1983, which had a streak of successful albums in the late 1980s. The band originally consisted of lead vocalist Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Ritchie Sambora (left in 2013), bassist Alec John Such (left in 1994), keyboard David Bryan, and drummer Tico Torres. The band's more.

What! Some of these bands above this isn't even that good? Rush only had Tom Sawyer. Iron Maiden only had The trooper. This makes no sense. This band should at least be in the top 10. By the way, Nirvana is so overrated.

If you think iron maiden and rush only had one good song you NEED to listen to some other songs by them.

Impossible! How is this at 31st place, below One Direction and Twenty One Pilots! Outrageous.

Was it below One Direction? I can't believe, people really hate it on this site.

One of the best rock bands of the 80-90 era...Their earlier albums sound so fresh even today.

They are the best band ever with the hot songs Living on a orator and It's my life

Black Sabbath Black Sabbath were a Heavy Metal band formed in Birmingham, England in 1968 by guitarist and songwriter Tony Iommi, singer John "Ozzy" Osbourne, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward. more.

Damn a band that brings you back to the 70s as if you are in Birmingham with them performing witchcraft. They are real hard hitter that leaves you wanting more... Ozzy's vocals, iomi's guitar, butler's bass and Bill's drums are all components which make up the iconic and explosive yet beautiful souns of Sabbath

Black Sabbath is one of the most influential bands in rock history and one of the bands that inspired many of the bands that we have today. And the original singer (Ozzy Osbourne) is not called the "Prince of Darkness" or the "Godfather of Heavy Metal" for nothing. They should be much higher. They rock and they are the Godfather of Metal! Long Live Black Sabbath!

Sabbath should be number 1! Didn't matter if it was Ozzy or Dio singing, this band was consistently good.

First metal band ever. And one of the best ever as well.

Imagine Dragons Imagine Dragons is an American pop rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Imagine Dragons' lineup consists of lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman.

I'm an apostrophe. I'm just a symbol to remind you that there's more to see. I'm just a product of the system, a catastrophe, and yet a masterpiece, and yet I'm half deceased. And when I am deceased, at least I'll go down to the grave and die happily, and leave my body so my soul can be a part of me. I do what it takes.

I love Imagine Dragons, they've been my favorite band for over a year. Their lyrics are relatively deep and the music is catchy. However, I don't think they deserve to be in this list, not even if they kept the same sound and meaningful lyrics of their first two albums.

This is really an amazing band. I love their music and Dan's raspy voice is so good to listen too. I love their songs especially the most rock ones.

For me, the only bands worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as ID are FOB, The 1975, Bastille and alt-J. These guys are just amazing! P.S. today (9th March 2017) they released a new song: Whatever It Takes, along with an album announcement, album tracklist announcement and a world tour announcement. The album is only eleven tracks long but is probably stunning. You can pre-order it on iTunes now.

These guys should be #1, followed by alt-J at #2, The 1975 #3 + Bastille #4. Ooh, and FOB #5. Then DMA's at #6.

IDGAF about The Beatles, they're bs, IDGAF about The Who, they're bs,
IDGAF about Coldplay and Radiohead, even though they're quite good, ID are infinitely better.
IDGAF about that bs people refer to as 1D, they're just some gayboy teen f-ers who cannot f-ing sing!
IDGAF about Blur, WGAF how long anyone has been around, ID have been going non-stop for 6 years, whereas other bands have been on hiatus for ages (1D, if u can call em a band)

Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy is an American pop rock band formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2001. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley.

My Favorite Band of ALL TIME. Their vocals are amazing and they are so meaningful. Patrick's vocals are unbelievable, and the easily deserve top tens. Fall Out Boy is amazing.

These guys have awesome songs with awesome videos. But still seeing very less views of their songs on youtube makes me think what is the problem of people with them.

I don't know much about them but I like them. Much like some other bands though, they don't deserve to be in this list.

What the heck I thought I just missed them on the list but they are just really low

U2 U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin. Formed in 1976, the group consists of Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. U2's early sound was rooted in post-punk but eventually grew to incorporate influences from many genres of popular music. Throughout the group's musical pursuits, they have more.

U2 consistently has the highest grossing and largest sold out arena world tours every time the put out an album. Their zooropa tour in the 90's was massive and was the third largest behind the rolling stones just based on gross receipts. To say that they are not in the top 5 biggest bands of all time (yes this includes the 80's and 90's) is just ridiculous.

Last of the iconic rock bands.

Seriously, Imagine Dragons is ahead of U2? Are all these voters in middle school?

They are not my favorite band but I'm routing for them because I see crap ahead of them!

In my opinion this should be #1. The rest of them you can get bored with, but not u2 band.

Dream Theater Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band was formed in 1985 under the name of "Majesty", only to change its name to Dream Theater later. more.

If you like Rush you should give them a listen. They have a similar vibe but at the same time feel really original and amazing!

I have to say, I'm surprised they made it to the top 40. But they deserve top 5.

Bands like coldplay, imagine dragons, linkin park, 21pilots, fob, even 1D above DT! Is this a joke!

Why do people say this stuff especially when linkin park is the only band you mentioned that is in front of them.

Dream Theater should be at the first place

Twenty One Pilots Twenty One Pilots is an American musical duo that is originally from Columbus, Ohio, who are best known for their songs "Stressed Out", "Heathens" and "Ride". Currently there are two members, Tyler Joseph (lead vocals, piano, keyboards, synthesizers, ukulele, bass and guitar) and Josh Dun (drums and more.

This is a band that truly deserves a spot on this list. The lyrics are the deepest I've ever heard ever and their sound is different. For anyone saying they're just another band whining about how bad their lives are, just listen to Guns For Hands (in my opinion their best song ever). It's not even about them, but about the fans. Other than the controversial themes of their songs, Tyler is a talented artist that not only speaks about things that really need to be heard, but also makes them sound good. He can also use words and letters to make the rap pop more.
As for their music, they invented their own genre. Enough said.

My favorite band. They can switch from a genre to another so easily and their creativity and singularity is awesome. Tyler's vocal range is incredible.

Really damn good band, been into them since 2017, in my opinion they deserve to be higher up.
people who criticize them for their music most likely have only heard the most popular songs such as stressed out and heathens, and while still decent songs on their own, aren't their best.

Twenty One pilots popular songs are not their best, sadly. I wish people knew that. Songs like Migraine, Ode to sleep, Holding onto you, House of gold, The run and go ( I know, weird choice that one ) and sooo much more are better than their popular stuff like Stressed Out and Heathens. Ride is still good so I wont bash on it. This is MY OPINION by the way. But, I wished these songs would be heard by more people.

Red Hot Chili Peppers The Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American funk-rock and alternative rock band, that was founded in 1983. more.

My favorite band ever, flea is an amazing bassist, anthony is a great singer, josh and john are great guitarists, and chad is a pretty good drummer. how is this below one direction?

My #1, grew up listening to them non-stop. Funky, catchy, great riffs and baselines. The best

Basically the only good band that hasn't broken up and is still good to this day.

Seriously, down here? They rock the scene for 31 years with great music and 26 hit songs! god damn

Coldplay Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996. The band consists of Chris Martin (lead vocalist and pianist), Jonny Buckland (lead guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist) and Will Champion (drummer and backing vocalist). Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an unofficial fifth member. The band renamed more.

This is one of the first I listened to so they have a special place in my heart. Their lyrics and and instrumentals are so good and Chris Martin's voice is really soothing.

OH, Are they? Could they make a 20 minutes long song like Yes, who are under them? Could they make a good guitar solo like Van Halen, that is under them, or just any solo like The Who, who can also describe the feelings of a whole generation (and is under them)? Do they play their Instruments as good as the musicians from Deep Purple? Did they make a music genre better, like Black Sabbath? Did they make Experiments like King Crimson? Did they experiment anything at all? No, I don't think so. They can't even play the Blues! Or can they, like The Doors...

Here Some who deserve the spot, or even higher: The Doors, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Can, Cream, ELP, King Crimson, Deep Purple, The Who, Alice In Chains, Black Sabbath, Asia, Yes, Tin Machine, Manfred Manns Earth Band (Yeah, they play pretty awesome Moog-solos, specially live, the still tour being in the 70's of age), Pearl Jam, Bon Jovi, Grateful Dead, System of a Down, Alice In Chains, Lynyrd ...more

Can just one band achieve the achievements of multiple bands and singers, some of which are considered the best music artists of all time?

Coldplay should at least be in the top five. The creative, beautiful melodies that have calming qualities are now, in this darn decade, unique to Coldplay. I remember listening to Yellow as a little girl. Remebering the tune and coming back to remember it just before end of year exams. So calming and beautiful. The first time I heard Viva la Vida, the boring car trip suddenly wasn't so boring. And Paradise. I was literally in paradise when this song started playing. There are many, many more songs of theirs that I love, but these ones made my childhood so worth remembering.

Amsterdam, magic, swallowed in the sea, life in technicolour II, violet hill, fix you, amazing day, paradise, trouble, hypnotized, the hardest part, atlas, twisted logic, everything's not lost, another's arms, ink, midnight, see you soon, prospekt's march, square one, talk, always in my head, spies, all I can think about is you, in my place, up&up, a head full of dreams, the scientist, things I don't understand.

These are all incredibly well thought out songs with so much effort and charisma in them. Notice how I didn't include viva la vida? Or hymn for the weekend? One song by them they I think is incredibly underrated is twisted logic. It makes you think so much and it is so clever. Some other bands I would point out if you like Coldplay are bastille, kodaline, Keane, snow patrol, arcade fire, U2 and blossoms.

Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band, that was formed 1999 in California. Their longest lineup of members was M. Shadows (Vocals), Synyster Gates (Lead Guitar), Zacky Vengeance (Rhythm Guitar), Johnny Christ (Bass Guitar), and The Rev (Drums). more.

Avenged sevenfold gives you a will to be weird. You may have different styles and things to say than others but that's normal. Don't be afraid to be yourself and avenged sevenfold along with nirvana gives you that. I mean he'll where do you think artists these days got their inspiration.

These guys don't care what other people think about them or their music. It is addicting. My favorite band personally. They should be at #1

Best ever band... I love this band because they guys are best friends first...

Yes my life is complete
