Top Ten Best Drum Songs

Drummers. Fast. Skilled. Incredible. You name it. The SONGS, though, matter. Here are the best.

The Top Ten

1 Eyeless - Slipknot

Slipknot has the best drummer in the world. He can keep a beat and is like crazy fast. It's only fare he be ontop

Should really be top of the list, whether or not you like Slipknot this song has the best drumming simply because of the skill and pace involved. - EvilAngel

Joey Jordison is truly my favorite drummer ever. Eyeless is my favorite slipknot song as well, and he is able to keep up some of the fastest beats and creates some of the best base drum patterns I have ever seen. Huge inspiration to my drum playing!

Sick as intro and just a sick song all around

2 Your Betrayal - Bullet for My Valentine

I listened to all top10 and I would vote for this! The drum beat is consistent all through out. Bang your head from start to end!

The drummer is ridiculous in this song. If you don't get pumped up listening to the intro, then you aren't human

The bass drum is so fluent throughout the chorus.

Love the starting. They rocked it. #peter_Angelov

3 Moby Dick - Led Zeppelin

Most drummers think there are people who can drum better than Bonham, those people use double bass kick to make crazy beats. Bonham only used one pedal and could go just as fast, which made him awesome

Truly phenomenal footwork there! John bonham was a pioneer of the heel-toe technique. He mastered it in the 1969 song "Good Times Bad Times".

Great song but there are other songs most difficult then this for Led Zeppelin like Fool In The Rain or Achilles Last Stand
Rip bonham
Thank you for make me drumming

Keep in mind he would sometimes perform this song for 20-30 minuets.

4 It Never Ends - Bring Me the Horizon

Such a hard song to play on drums

5 Cold - Axewound
6 Strife - Trivium

Dave Grohl god dammit!

Best by far, Dave Grohl can still keep an epic drum solo

Definitely the best modern rock song. - BrianScott01

12 Ticks and Leeches - Tool

Danny Carey's style is so clean and fast... I've never heard some one playing like him.

Danny Carey is god... Seriously I think he is.

Danny Carey is CRAZY in this song!

13 Hot for Teacher - Van Halen

The fact that this is under a bunch of metalcore songs is just odd. - Honor_Thy_Father

My kid favorite song and he loves drums. I rest my case (i like more bass guitars though)

Have you ever heard I drum kit sound like a car? Well this solo does it!

14 Freak On a Leash - Korn
15 Tom Sawyer - Rush

It is a sin to not include this in the top 10, rush is commonly underrated in these top 10s

Rush rocks, Neil is a God, Tom Sawyer is the main hymn (along with YYZ)

Rush has a collection of some of the best instrumentalists in each area, and Neil on drums is no exception!

Almost impossible to play. What a Legend. Super Song

16 YYZ - Rush

Although the studio version of this song is great, the live version from "Exit... Stage Left" is incredible. Not only does it feature the same awesome drumming from the studio album combined with an insane drum solo in the middle. The best drum song from anything, studio or live. - lavillaof2112

This is an amazing song by Rush. If you can play this your awesome

A no brainer. Simply the greatest instrumental ever.

This is sooo fun to play

17 Bat Country - Avenged Sevenfold

I think this is the most amazing drums song, just hear the drums in the song, this song is composed by "The rev" sulivan (R.I. P) He is considerated one of the best drummers ever, The song contains good rhythms and great smacks, because this is a heavy metal song, and I think this is the best drum song of all time

Perfection! How the hell did the Rev do that? Such an underrated drummer at his best in the song!

Amazing double bass. Lots of energy. Rev was extraordinary!

Best double bass in any song ever

18 My Generation - The Who

The massive crazy noise of Moon the Loon - The Who would not have been The Who without his input. Maybe technically not the best, but he sure had a highly original awesome sound. A great advert for English made Premier Drums.

Keith moon is the best drummer of all time. he only had to use one microphone to get the sound he wanted. People who drum know how hard that is.

Oldest beats of Who are, some I'm for interesting in.

19 21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson

Mind bending playing. Very few drummers can claim to have had a track this. They not only kept time on such an influential, epic, rocking track, but also helped to shape the sound of it to such a degree. Bravo to Michael Giles. Bravo. One for the ages.

Smells Like Teen Spirit at 5 is priceless! This song is hard to keep up with.

20 The Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin

How is this in 21st place... it should be in top 10... !

Really compicated drumming by lars... But its fantastic! One of his best with double kicks

This has to be number 1. And number 2. Technically brilliant and fits seamlessly with the song.

This is awesome drumming by Mitch Mitchell who drives the song along.

Mitch Mitchell was masterful

24 Basket Case - Green Day

Good luck mastering drums on this one. Great fills and drumming!

Tre Cool's crazy fills! Just awesome. Tre has a sound of his own, which can't be matched by anyone else!

Fast and perfectly executed, a very lively song

Tre Cool is one of the best drummers of all time. - georgielikesgreenday

25 In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins

The moment the drums come in is so iconic, most people would recognize the song as being Phil Collins just on that

Your right, he is such an underrated drummer unfortunately a lot of people only know him as a singer and drumming on in the air tonight. Listen to the earlier stuff with genesis!

Listen to Phil on early genesis and brand x, he had technique, speed and most importantly feel.

26 Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who

Every member of the band was in sync and Keith Moon kept it all together. He had heart and a lot of guts. Great drumming song. - mgenet

Kieth moon is the best rock drummer hands down...

Tool is under appreciated for there sound

It should be on 1st badass drum.

How is this only 46!? This song is so difficult the drummer has admitted to almost not putting it on the album! By far one of the most technical drum songs ever recorded.

You have no idea what you are missing if you haven't heard this. Go ahead now!

Just listening to this song makes my legs numb my goodness

Don't get me wrong, I love Neil Perth and he's a god amongst drummers, but this song... Jesus if I only had the technical skillset to explain how hard it is I would be happy let alone be able to ever play it.

32 One - Metallica

That Double Bass towards the end and the machine gun snare make it a good drum song. This should be in the top ten

33 Battery - Metallica
34 Fool in the Rain - Led Zeppelin

The drums in this song are unreal. You can find an isolated drums track of this on Youtube and it's pretty sweet

Deserves to be way higher

35 Scatterbrain - Jeff Beck

how the heck does he DO dat

36 La Villa Strangiato - Rush

Absolutely THE most amazing drum song on a studio album. Incredibly complicated, but still groovy, the drum beat goes through tons of different time signatures and texture changes that even an accomplished drummer has trouble keeping up with it. - lavillaof2112

Surprised the "benchmark of drumming" was this low down - Songsta41

37 Aja - Steely Dan

Aja should definitely be in the top ten

By far, TOP TEN!

38 Everlong - The Foo Fighters

Best drum line in any song I can think of.

One of the best live moments in rock history is when the crowd is waiting for roger taylor to start We Will Rock You

43 Vendetta - Slipknot
44 Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2

45 Song for the Dead - Queens of the Stone Age

Like seriously! How the hell is this song not at least in the top 20!? I mean goddam it's amazing! That drum intro is so raw!

I honestly don't understand how this song isn't in the top 10 and smells like teen spirit is. get a grip, people

46 Beast and the Harlot - Avenged Sevenfold

The complex double bass patterns alone would take months, especially for beginners. Not to mention the solo and dynamic's involved would give most a run for their money.

47 Dyers Eve - Metallica
48 Down With the Sickness - Disturbed
49 Would? - Alice in Chains

The drums in this song have such a cool beat, I think that's what got me into Alice In Chains. Maybe not the best drums ever, but in terms of how well they fit with the song, I think that's an arguable criterion. - Dorito

Agreed; amazing drums (and bass) on this song.

50 Paradise City - Guns N' Roses
