Best Dystopian Books Based on Their Covers

You were probably taught to never judge a book by its cover in grade school. At any rate, you probably know I'm a big fan of dystopian novels if you looked through some of my lists. Forget about the plotline. If good cover equals good plotline, these books would be the top dystopian novels.
The Top Ten
1 Incarceron - Catherine Fisher

It may be a dystopian/fantasy hybrid, but I qualify it as dystopian. That picture probably looks VERY boring, but if you get a physical copy of the book, from certain angles, the key starts reflecting colors, much like a rainbow. It's cool.

I am rereading this and Sapphique. I read them to see why you like them so much. Hard to understand. But the cover IS pretty cool as described.

2 Sapphique - Catherine Fisher

I would love to know how you pronounce this book's title. At any rate, this keyhole seemed fitting and I think the stars behind hit shine in a similar fashion to the key on Incarceron's cover.

3 Unwind - Neal Shusterman

Depending on whether you have the book with the original cover (the one you see to the left) or the updated one, this could very easily be one of the coolest book covers you'll see or the most boring one you'll see.

4 Four - Veronica Roth

As stupid as this book is (sorry if you think it was okay,) if a good cover meant a good story, this would be a magnificent story...But sadly, it ain't if you ask me.

5 Allegiant - Veronica Roth

Yet another book that I don't really like with a deceivingly cool cover. I tried to reread this one, but it drags too much.

6 Divergent - Veronica Roth

I honestly don't think this particular book was that bad and the cover is pretty interesting with the fire.

Veronica Roth is doing well here.

7 Undivided - Neal Shusterman

Lady Liberty's new metallic arm is just an awesome metaphor for what the characters in this series have been working to achieve (and it's a heck of a lot better than the new cover which is just grey and black.)

8 Unsouled - Neal Shusterman

Although this one looks more "haunting" than cool, I've seen creepier things than this cover and it gets you hooked.

9 Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins

Best cover of the Hunger Games trilogy. The lack of colors other than red makes it exert some (possibly unintentional) promise of violence.

10 The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

The black and gold is an interesting color scheme and gives a good hook for a good trilogy.

The Contenders
11 Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins
12 1984 - George Orwell
13 Unbound - Neal Shusterman
