Top 10 Best Balatro Tarot Cards
In Balatro, tarot cards are a type of consumable mostly used for modifying your cards. These are derivative of tarot cards used in fortune-telling and divination.
I've rounded up the tarot cards in Balatro that are essential to your play session.
-
The Fool
Let me ask you: what could be better than a tarot card that creates a copy of the last one used? This is very useful for getting the most out of your favorite tarot card since there is no tarot card equivalent to Telescope.
On the Magic Deck, you start with two copies of The Fool, which means you can use your favorite tarot cards three times consecutively.
-
Temperance
Better than The Hermit because most people prefer the combined sell value of all your jokers rather than just doubling your money. Useful if you're down to your last couple of dollars from that booster pack and you have incredibly valuable jokers.
-
The Chariot
The Chariot converts one card into a steel enhancement, which gives X1.5 mult when held in hand. If your steel cards have red seals, their abilities retrigger. We already know what happens when you add Baron and Mime to the mix.
-
Wheel of Fortune
I know this is not everyone's favorite joker, but something about the 1 in 4 chance of adding foil, holographic, or polychrome to a random joker encourages us to use them often. With Oops! All 6s, there's a higher chance of adding the score editions to your jokers, though that's not always guaranteed.
-
Justice
Glass Cards are my favorite enhancement that targets scored cards, and this tarot converts one of them into glass.
If you make the Glass Card your last scored one, it can multiply your total mult by X2, though it comes at the cost of a 1 in 4 chance of destruction (higher with Oops! All 6s).
-
The Emperor
Creates two random tarot cards when used. There's just something I like about the random chance of getting a cool tarot card on the fly.
-
Strength
Upgrades the rank of two cards by one. Useful for hands that require certain amounts of ranked cards, like a straight or full house.
-
The Sun
The Sun changes cards into heart suits, The Star changes cards into diamond suits, The Moon changes cards into club suits, and The World changes cards into spade suits.
Where these cards really shine is for flush builds, especially if you only have three cards of your biggest suit in hand.
-
Death
Death takes two cards and changes the one on the left into the one on the right. This is useful for any situation, but I like seeing them synergize with held-in-hand ability builds.
-
The Hanged Man
This tarot can destroy up to two cards. The most notable synergy for this one is with Canio, where you destroy face cards to scale this joker's X mult (any card you want with Pareidolia).
