  1. Tepig is the only one in its evolution line that is not a dual Fire/Fighting type

    This is pretty interesting. This wouldn't be the first time that a starter Pokémon gained dual typing when evolved (we have Charizard with the Fire/Flying typing, remember?), but I'm surprised Tepig's Stage 1 is like this.

  2. The ability Tepig has to shoot fire out of its nose comes from the fact that pigs have a hard time regulating their body temperature

    This is pretty cool, in my opinion.

  3. When Tepig is sick, it cannot blow fire from its nose, only smoke

    I feel like this is like a little baby dragon. It's kinda cute! (Well, other than the fact that it's sick...)

  4. Tepig can dodge attacks while shooting fireballs at its opponents from its nose

    This is pretty cool.

  5. Tepig is the only starter Pokémon in Legends Z-A (Kalos) that is not originally from the Johto region

    I was shocked that Tepig was there instead of Cyndaquil. Honestly, I was surprised the starters weren't Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie (the Kalos starters).

  6. Tepig may be based off of a Chinese mythological demon called the Zhu Bajie

    The more you know, right? Basing it off mythology is pretty cool.

    What's cooler is that the other starters that came with it in Black and White were based off Western (Snivy) and Japanese (Oshawott) culture. It's pretty cool!

  7. Tepig loves eating food and cooks its food before eating it

    The Pokédex described it as being "gluttonous." If you get Legends Z-A, this is the guy you take out for coffee breaks.

  8. Tepig's name comes from the words tepid (lukewarm) and pig

    Between "Lukewarm Pig," "Toddler Crocodile" (Totodile), and "Female Chicory" (Chikorita), these names sound like they belong to ancient Paradox Pokémon!

  9. Tepig is very nimble yet clumsy with its fireballs

    It's kinda funny!

  10. Tepig was the first Gen V first partner Pokémon to be created

    But then, I'm sure this isn't really that special.
