Top 10 Best FIFA Games

FIFA has been a staple of gaming for decades, constantly evolving with better mechanics, graphics, and game modes. Some entries introduced groundbreaking features that changed the series forever, while others just felt like the perfect mix of everything that makes FIFA fun.

Now, it's your turn to decide which FIFA game truly stands out. Maybe you have a soft spot for a classic version with simpler mechanics, or maybe you think one of the more recent editions nailed the balance between realism and fun. From career mode improvements to Ultimate Team innovations, each game has its own strengths.

The Top Ten
  1. FIFA 12

In my opinion, FIFA 12 is simply the best FIFA game ever. Just look at the graphics and those detailed movements every professional player on the pitch can execute. According to their physical properties, some players have strength, while others run fast. That's unique for every team. Or you can just choose the player (striker) with the best finishing.

The gameplay always depends on how good you are. If you lose a match, then you'll learn more from the realistic content of the game.

Best FIFA game ever. FIFA 17 has already been released, and nothing has ever touched FIFA 12. Defending is challenging, and five years later, I am still seeing original goals scored. Player/manager mode is the best. One of my only minor gripes is that you cannot sign with another team as a player/manager, only as a manager. But easily, it's the greatest FIFA of all time. FIFA 14-17 are complete crap.

  2. FIFA 13

FIFA's last true hurrah on the previous generation, FIFA 13, was amazing. To be fair, I did break some controllers playing this game, but that shows how passionate I was about it. Ultimate Team was fun, Career mode was colorful, and it pushed the 360 to its limits.

Not just the best FIFA, it's in the running for the best sports game ever.

Best FIFA ever, even though FIFA 12 was more revolutionary. FIFA 13 made quite a lot of changes, including fixing the engine, better attacking intelligence, and first touch control, which added to the realism.

So, to summarize, FIFA 13 first, but just a little ahead of FIFA 12.

  3. FIFA 07

I'll always remember waiting for this title after '06 Road to the World Cup came out. I played it more than any other year. '07 was the most exciting. The only bummer was the lack of manager faces like '06 had. I was let down, and still to this day, they have not licensed manager faces!

The absolute peak of the franchise. The soundtrack was excellent, the gameplay was smooth, and the AI was solid.

Yes, more modern versions have superior graphics and better sound, but evaluated as the game itself, this one remains at the top.

  4. FIFA 14

It's a really good game, good for starters and pros! It finally allows you to search players by their names on the transfer market in UT. It is also the first FIFA game to enter NextGEN (PS4, Xbox One). It's such a good game! Not only that, but it has the Brazilian World Cup 2014 UT added on for free. It's amazing!

Man, I would spend hours on this game when I came home from school.

I think I completed like 10 years of career mode. The soundtrack was the best as well.

I think it's the best. This game makes me feel happy, even though its graphics are not as good as FIFA 15. I have both, but still, my brain and heart prefer FIFA 14 over FIFA 15.

    I don't know why.

  5. FIFA 11

I play FIFA 11 on PC. The players' agility and movements are more realistic than the FIFA versions that followed. In FIFA 12 and even up to the latest FIFA 16 gameplay video, I see players moving like sticks with just hands hanging and waving. In the gameplay, players look like they're skating on ice. However, in FIFA 11, it's very realistic as players lift their foot between their steps while sprinting or walking.

I was anxious for FIFA 12 and downloaded the demo, only to be disappointed. How can I enjoy FIFA if the players running to take the pass look like hunchbacks?

FIFA 11 is absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, the best FIFA game ever made! This is the only FIFA installed on my PC, and it's going to stay that way forever!

The gameplay is so balanced and fun, and it's very realistic. The very first FIFA game I played was FIFA 99, and I've played all of them from 99 to 13, but this one, people, is the best!

So, excuse me, but I gotta go prepare my squad for the upcoming season. 11 players, FIFA 11!

  6. FIFA 10

From FIFA 13, the FIFA series started its descent. I was a real FIFA addict, but in 2013 something changed, leading to a split toward the arcade, and my gameplay pleasure fell. During the last years, I tried FIFA 14 (for two months and then sold it), FIFA 15 (bought used and sold in two weeks), and also FIFA 16, with the new generation's console. After three months, I sold FIFA, Xbox One, and went back to playing the old FIFA 11, 12, and 10.

FIFA 10 is simply the best football game ever!

Best game so far, and I'm still playing it in 2014.

It feels like you are playing in a real game of football. The AI is absolutely spot on and has sadly not been emulated in more recent games.

  7. FIFA 09

Revolutionary! The PC version has mouse control for the first time, and gameplay has seriously improved. Can't expect more.

    I have FIFA 11, 12, and 13 but still can't leave FIFA 09.

The FIFA that started the modern trend of FIFA we see today.

Plus, this game had Ronaldo in Manchester United!

The best FIFA game ever. Fast players run fast, slow players run slow as they are supposed to. FIFA 08 is horrible because every player's speed is the same.

FIFA 09 is way better and more realistic than any other FIFA game. 100% natural on all platforms.

  8. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Different gameplay than the normal FIFA, but the online World Cup was the greatest thing FIFA has ever done, besides Pro Clubs in my opinion.

However, Pro Clubs still needs a lot of work done so it can be better.

I just sold my FIFA 14 so I can devote more time to this game. It plays unlike any soccer game ever made. It's fun and realistic.

I play on fast speed and dynamic camera view. Awesome!

Totally different from the regular FIFA version and revolutionary.

I still play this game. It's absolutely brilliant! 9/10.

  9. FIFA Street

I don't know about the best FIFA game of all time, but this is definitely the best street soccer game ever made!

  10. FIFA 08

Been playing this game, and I just love the manager mode, the tricks we can do, and overall, the quality of gameplay is just mind-blowing and fantastic.

    Truly an awesome FIFA game.

Best soundtrack and best team squad. It was my first FIFA game, and I loved it since!

I've played all the next FIFA games, but FIFA 08 is still the best.

FIFA 07 was crap, scoring goals from corners and the halfway line, and goalkeepers giving assists.

Play FIFA 08 to know true attacking against awesome defense.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    FIFA 20

    Sweet graphics, cool presentations.

UT is enjoyable, and Journey is awesome!

  13. ?

    FIFA 19

It is a game where those who choose to use Barcelona do not need to use a game controller.

Perhaps the best of the new era?

  14. The Contenders
  15. FIFA 16

Awesome no-touch dribble system. The graphics surpass FIFA 15, 14, 13, etc.

I like the graphics. They are new and better.

You can get Messi in a Real Madrid card and have interactive punch-ups to the death. Awesome!

  16. FIFA: Road to World Cup 98

Modern FIFA games may look better, but as far as gameplay goes, this game is the peak! Everything felt more fluid as there was minimal delay between key press and on-screen feedback. Newer FIFA games focus a little too much on realistic animations, impact simulation, and cinematics. All of these create a distance between the player input and on-screen feedback. Hence, gameplay in modern FIFA games just doesn't feel as fun!

This one is by far the best. People shouldn't vote if they haven't played every game.

World Cup qualifying with all 180 or so nations, domestic leagues, indoor soccer - this game had it all.

  17. FIFA Football 2004

This game tried to make football realistic, as opposed to making the players realistic, and it made playing the matches more fun. The harder they try to make the players realistic, the worse the gameplay is.

Ever since FIFA went online, it became unrealistic, since people can no longer pass the ball around with their defenders. A football game where you cannot pass the ball around with your defenders, and codes are set to make each pass slower and slower until the opposition gets the ball, is NOT realistic. In fact, in real life, the OTHER team would get fatigued, not the team passing the ball.

FIFA 2004 is the most recent game that is fun to play, but there are some other gems before it too.

  18. FIFA 06

Changed the FIFA series altogether! Graphics improved, gameplay improved, and the commentary also improved!

The UI was, and is probably, the best UI to have been used in the franchise. And the videos were not just amazing but even inspiring!

Such elements have been lacking in the subsequent releases!

This is the best in many ways with crosses, fluidity, and difficulty. Also, when we play league teams, they beat you in difficulty mode.

Good teams like AC Milan and Real Madrid come in, not low-rated teams. Whoever designed it... Fantastic.

  19. FIFA Street 3

Never seen a better soccer game than this. I don't even know why it is placed number 11 on the list.

  20. FIFA Football 2005

Very realistic and customizable in how you want to set up your team tactics in terms of attacking, defending, passing, and team mentality, i.e., attack or defend. It pretty much does what you want it to do, which is not true of all FIFA versions, especially the latter ones that have a mind of their own. Which is frustrating in itself. True? True.

This game is a sick game. The long shots are very fun to score.

Back in the day, this game had Shevchenko, who was overpowered. Also, Ronaldo was good.

  21. FIFA Football 2002

I loved this FIFA so much! I remember I was like 7 or 8 years old, and I told my friend we couldn't play in a tournament, or the computer would know we are good and therefore beat us! Haha, I only wanted to play one on one. Laugh out loud!

For me, this is definitely the best FIFA ever made. It offers the greatest opportunities and the largest selection of national teams.

The game is flawless. I love it.

Really fun and amazing gameplay. Scoring makes you feel great!

  22. FIFA 2001

  23. FIFA Street 2

It was released during the best years of the last decade when we had amazing players such as Ronaldinho, Beckham, Del Piero, Nedved, Zidane, CR7, and Messi, among many others. It had very nice graphics and one of the best soundtracks in any FIFA game. The best FIFA Street game and, overall, one of the best of the brand.

Amazing game. So much fun to play, especially with others.

  24. FIFA 15

The image was extraordinary, the stadium ambiance was great, and it is much easier to pass the man with a skill move than in FIFA 14 (I didn't like it).

It is more difficult to score a goal against the goalkeeper compared to the previous year. In short, perfect.

    Great movement and fast-paced gameplay.

I loved putting my friends to shame on it. My favorite FIFA by far.

It deserves to be number 1. I hate people who get nostalgic about games.

FIFA 15 is the best ever.

  25. FIFA 17

The best graphics. New features in Ultimate Team. Journey Mode.

    Do I need to continue?

Best graphics and better than FIFA 13, the most overrated FIFA game of all time.

This game is better than FIFA 18-21 because of the colors.

  26. 2006 FIFA World Cup

One of the most shocking World Cups ever played. There were great goals, and it was the best year for players like Ronaldinho and Zidane, who got a red card in the final against Italy, the champion that year, for headbutting another Italian player in the chest.

  27. FIFA 99

FIFA 99 was a great game and incredibly good for its time, 15 years ago. The game is fast and smooth, the graphics are good, and the shirts and boots are accurate. On my PC with patches, it's even better. I use the English superpatch. It's great - the shirts and stadiums' adboards are more accurate.

Moreover, players' qualities are well distinguished and more accurate than in FIFA 2000 or 2001. The transfer system is easy to use. You could build a great team to rule the world.

In my opinion, it's a GREAT GAME. I also like WC 98. Playing some of the old World Cup finals is so funny.

I remember playing as Arsenal, and Bergkamp was a beast, son! The transfer system was cool.

  28. FIFA 18

Though it's quite unrealistic, the fun element is still there.

The best FIFA, in my opinion.

This is pretty much like FIFA 17 but with new players and at a higher price.

  29. FIFA Football 2003

I'm voting for this FIFA simply because of the awesome teams back then that sadly are not as strong now, such as Leeds, Lens, and Deportivo.

    Amazing times.

Having a league with the 5-star teams (10/10), how cool was that!
