Greatest Metal Songs of the 2000s

I'm completely shocked this song isn't even in the top 10. In fact, it should be number one. Epic lyrics, godly solo, and great theme.
And, wait, Numb in a metal songs list? Really insane.
Obviously, this is the best metal song of the 2000s.
It is heavy, catchy, and the solo is a complete legacy for the world of music. What more does this song need?
A total masterpiece. I'm 54 and have seen all the greats: Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Sabbath, and so on. Avenged Sevenfold is destined to go down in history with these bands.

Definitely the best metal song I've ever heard. This should be #1 on the top ten list. This is my favorite song. It's the best.
If this song doesn't belong at number one, I don't know what does.
Oh man, really? Chop Suey! is no. 4? It must be number 1. System of a Down doesn't give a damn about this.

The whole album is legendary. The song "Lateralus" is a masterpiece composed in an extensively complex process. Most bands couldn't even do a song like this if they had forever.
I'm really surprised how low this is. How can Linkin Park and Disturbed be above this?
It's one of the most well-written songs of all time, and if you know anything about music, you would agree that this is #1.
Best of metal of the 21st century. Tool will go down in the history of metal. Lateralus is a big contribution to this thought.

This is one of Bullet's best songs, and it should be number one, even though Rise Against is a great band!
I would say that my favorite three songs of the 2000s are:
1. The Last Fight - Bullet for My Valentine
2. Afterlife - Avenged Sevenfold
3. Behind Closed Doors - Rise Against
I love this song. My dad is in a local band (Sicarian Impulse) and they are covering this song! This isn't my favorite song or band, but the choice of at least top 5 is great.
I am a music composer. If you're looking for metal music, then this song is undoubtedly AWESOME!
This is my favorite song of all time. I want to rate it as "AWESOME." I'm in love with this song.

I love Breaking Benjamin. This band is amazing! The only two bands that can beat this band are Linkin Park and Metallica.

Great album that showed what the second wave of nu-metal had to offer.
Should be number one. Greatest metal song by far.
The best heavy metal song ever!

How is that track so low? It's the best song ever written!

Just incredible. Go listen to some of the live versions in South America. Watch the one in Chile.
This one has to be the best by far! I consider it an epic win and one of the best Iron Maiden songs.
I also love The Day That Never Comes, but Dance of Death deserves to be #1.

I really don't like most of Slipknot's songs. They are too less melodic for my ears. But "Duality" is one of those pieces made for eternity: perfectly composed and played so emotionally. Impressive.
To me, it's a joke that Duality isn't even in the top 10. No other metal song has its amazing sound, drums, lyrics, and guitar.
Everything is perfect and makes you headbang every second. Maybe it's not the best, but it's at least top 3.
Drives me insane... Slipknot always rocks. They are the one consolation in this stupid life. Hail the Nine! R.I.P. Paul Gray.
The Newcomers

I'm just going to assume that the people voting on this list aren't real metalheads and obviously haven't heard this masterpiece. That is the only explanation for this song not being number one.
How is this not higher? The riff is insane, great guitar solo, and don't get me started on Rob Flynn's vocals in this song. A truly epic metal song.
No doubt the best metal song, from the best album, and from the best band of the 2000s.

This song deserved its Grammy award. It totally belongs in the top 5.

It might be overplayed, but it's still an incredible song.
Totally the best ever. The cleanliness of the tone. Everything is perfect.
This is one of the greatest metal songs I've heard in a long time. Slipknot are gods of metal.

One of the first Tool songs I ever heard. I was about 12 years old. At the time, the music was a little too crazy, and I just didn't understand what was going on.
But it was something I had never heard before, and Tool is now my favorite rock band. I love all of their albums and can't wait until the new one comes out.

This song is really epic. Please listen to this song before voting for any other song. I guarantee you that you won't regret it.
That creepy intro coupled with the guitar riffs makes this, in my opinion, the best Avenged Sevenfold song ever.
I love this song, but only one song can beat this: Welcome to the Family. I am amazed that Avenged Sevenfold is on this list, YES!

A great iconic riff, great vocals, great drums, and an amazing solo. Everything is quick in a very Disturbed-like way, and it all fits really well together.
This is without a doubt Disturbed at their best.
If any Disturbed song deserved more fame than Down with the Sickness, this is it.
This song should be in the top 10, around number seven.

I am a music composer. If you're looking for metal music, then this song is undoubtedly AWESOME!
This is my favorite song of all time. I want to rate it as "AWESOME." I'm in love with this song. My Chemical Romance is one of the greatest metal bands of the 2000s.
