Greatest Movie Casts of All Time
The greatest collections of talent in a single movie. Does not include actors who played themselves.
This is my favorite Scorsese movie. He is maybe the greatest director to ever live, and this movie really went above and beyond. Leo and Nicholson are two of the all-time greats. Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg aren't as good, but they are still both amazing actors who deserve an Oscar.
Best gangster movie and cast ever. Jack Nicholson was the best part of the movie. He's just so amazing! This should be number one! Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon are also awesome, but no one comes close to Jack Nicholson.

Everyone in these movies became like a family. The members of the Fellowship became incredibly close and are still good friends to this day. The cast does a fantastic job of portraying their characters, and they fit together so well.
They all gave everything to making the movies the best they could be.
They are my favorite cast ever. I think all the actors played their parts so well, even though there were so many expectations for them to do well!
This is my favorite cast and also my favorite movie too! They are all awesome and amazing!

It's just gotta be the best cast of any movie ever in the history of movies!

One reason I think that this is one of the best casting jobs ever is that this isn't the best film for any of these actors. However, after this film, Cruise, Dillon, Lowe, Swayze, Lane, and Macchio started getting cast for unforgettable roles and became legends in their own right.
It is laughable that any cast is placed above this one. Although we have very short memories, Ocean's Eleven comes closest.
The amazing thing about this cast is that they were able to find so many big-name actors before they were famous.

Number 11! This one has the biggest stars ever! Come on, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson!
Honestly, the MCU makes some of the all-time best casting decisions. This should be no. 3, at least.
Some might also add Cobie Smulders, Stan Lee, and Gwyneth Paltrow to the ensemble.

Unbelievable movie with a great cast. And come on, you can't argue that Heath Ledger is one of the greatest actors of our time. RIP Heath, your talent is truly missed.
God rest your soul, Heath Ledger. That posthumous Oscar was so deserved!
One of the best movies ever and without a doubt, one of the best casts!

The cast may be good, but the movie wasn't that great.

This should be in the top ten. As Jen, Josh, and Liam said, it's a very dark movie but with a very light set. The cast really bonded with each other.
Definitely a great movie, great casting, awesome director, and awesome friendship. Name it all!
A cast of young, up-and-coming hot talent including Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence, Isabelle Fuhrman, Amandla Stenberg, Leven Rambin, and Alexander Ludwig, among others.
The Newcomers

Young actors who grew famous. It's a similar situation to The Outsiders, where there were a slew of great actors today who were not yet famous at the time.
Should be higher. Though many of them aren't that famous, they acted very well.

The cast for this couldn't have been better. Tom Hardy, DiCaprio, and all those other amazing people - what more could you ask for? The sad thing is that people are voting for these movies based on how good they are, not based on how good the cast is.

I watched it again this morning and was just blown away by how many stars there were. You mentioned Caine, Bogarde, Fox, and Elliott, but there were many others who I recognized but couldn't name. Amazing!
When I watched this, I didn't know most of these actors, including Michael Caine. However, after a few years, I realized I had seen one of the best casts of all time.
Probably the best cast of all, but an older movie "Robin and the Seven Hoods," with Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Falk, and Edward G. Robinson runs it mighty close.

How is this not higher? Three nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Brando winning Best Actor. This definitely should be in the top 10.
Marlon Brando and Al Pacino are enough for this movie.
Obviously, the best for anyone who knows movies.

I know it sounds prejudiced, but so many of the successful English actors are classically trained in theater, and the quality of their performances is truly impressive. None more so than in the entire Harry Potter series.

Not a single weak link. Everyone does their character complete justice. Pulp Fiction is the type of movie that's almost impossible to pull off, but everyone gives their character humanity, complexity, and the appropriate amount of mystery.
It's one of those movies where you can barely tell that the cast is acting, as they practically live the role. The fact that Samuel L. Jackson didn't get an Oscar for that role is still a travesty.
And lest we forget Harvey Keitel as the Wolf and Steve Buscemi as Buddy Holly.

There were so many comedy stars in this film, as shown by the title of the movie. However, there were also cameos from other comedian greats such as Buster Keaton, The Three Stooges, and literally every other working comedian.
You can't get a cast as star-studded as that. Maybe except for The Departed, but this film has way more stars that are well known. This is why I'm picking this.
With such a massive number of comedians filling every role (other than Captain Culpepper, played by Spencer Tracy), and each one of them being great, this is a very deserving cast.

I'm sure among the 23 actors, you'll find a character and actor that will appeal to you.
