Best Horror Movies of All Time

The Top Ten
1 The Shining

What people don't realize how great The Shining is looking at the pure horror outlook of it or just looking at how incredible it is nonetheless. People will rip on it and say it was nothing like the book, but every time I watch the shining it just brings me back, it's like a journey. Not only did it have a suspensive intriguing story, but it had incredible directing by my all time favorite director, Stanley Kubrick, was shot at a really interesting setting; The Timberline Lodge known as the Overlook hotel, and had some incredible actors in it that all did great such as Jack Nicholson, Scatman Crothers, Joe Turkel, and Philip Stone. Now beside from it being in the Horror genre (my favorite), the movie is still one of my all time favorites without question, and when you look at it, all these supernatural and Slasher films don't stand a chance.

There's no beating this one. The casting, the acting, the soundtrack, the effects, the overall tension it builds, all simply perfection. Jack Nicholson is simply the best at crazy character roles, and the things Shelly Duvall went through during filming was heartbreaking, but gave us the most terrified performance I've ever seen. Even Danny Lloyd was great as a child actor. This film doesn't cheap you out on jumpscares or lazy effects like many do nowadays, Kubrick had a vision, and by god he made it a reality. He builds such a crazy yet intense atmosphere, even I found myself shivering at times, and I watch horror all the time. I can't get this film out of my head, it answers questions by giving us so many more mysteries to unfold. Overall, 11/10, my favourite movie

My all time favorite horror movie ever! Seriously, it's not about being scary, it's the subtle imagery and pacing that make this movie great! Also, a very memorable movie! "Here's Jhonny! " " all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. " Red, rum" Those constant looks given by Jack, "murder," the two girls and " Come play with us forever... " and the hallucinations by Jack! I remember like one thing from a supposedly good movie alien, (I don't like alien,) and those sends weren't that great. Even the beginning of the movie was a little memorable to me! Maybe it wasn't exactly like the book, but dang, this was an incredible movie! Even Danny was played disturbingly well! (As in his role was disturbing, not be was so good it's disturbing, but he was good! ) The build-up is magnificent which leads to an awesome conclusion, unlike other movies I know, *cough *cough alien *cough *cough. Defiantly worth a watch, and I think anyone, even a person not into horror, should give this movie a ...more

Greatest horror movie ever made... most intense, thrilling horror movie ever made. Jack got us incredible performance so did Doc. And who played, wendy was underrated she was fascinating in this movie... there is no horror movie, that can top this masterpiece. Kubrick is, simply one of the greatest directors period. So many inexplained theories. One of the things I love about this movie is of it is realistic. One of my favorite movies of all time. This movie, deserve to by in top 10
and should be number 1 in this list PERIOD.

2 The Exorcist

By far the one that stands out. I watched it ONE time and have never watched it again and I'm 42. Other movies about possession don't bother me, to a point, as much as this one did. Deservedly so, Aliens is in the top 10. Poltergeist (the clown scene) is the still the reason I can't STAND clowns to this day. IT should be higher as well. Paranormal Activity (1) deserves it's spot as that movie kept me on the edge of my seat and my wife afraid to sleep at night! JAWS needs to be higher on the list... Great directing, acting, etc. Plus I was afraid to go in the ocean for years after seeing it in the theater!

The Exorcist remains in a league all by itself, without doubt the most profoundly disturbing film ever made.
For those of us that believe in God (90+% of the American people), the reality of spiritual good & evil is a given. Those employing the laughing "it doesn't bother me at all" reaction are either lying, utilizing a defense mechanism, or simply don't believe in the existence of anything beyond our physical world. I'm here to tell you that the vast majority of people who see this film (yesterday or 40 years ago) will be emotionally affected at the very least. The production values were very high and have held up well. Acting, writing, directing, cinematography & soundtrack are all stellar. It's a story well told. It's certainly a different animal than all the blood & guts slasher films. While the vast majority of "horror" films merely shock & repulse (nothing wrong with that if you enjoy them) The Exorcist tends to deeply disturb and truly frighten the psyche.

What an amazing film. I can't believe how much this outstanding masterpiece affected so many people who watched it when it first came out. I love this movie to bits. This film right here isn't only my favorite horror movie, but also my favorite movie of all time. You don't know horror until you've watched this movie or at least read the book it's based off of. And if you don't like it because it's not scary, remember, a horror can become outdated. And this movie is a bit outdated, but at least give it appreciation. (You faithless slime! )

The girl who plays the exorcist is absolutely fantastic. Just the way that she slams herself against the bed and talks seems so realistic. The acting seemed accurate and the directing was fantastic. Most directors would forget to tie her to the bed or add cheesy effects, but William Friedkin is spot on.

3 Halloween

Not only one of the best Horror movies but also one of the scariest. This movie inspired me to be a horror movie film director and without this movie, I probably wouldn't have gotten into the horror genre as a whole. It's so good it uses lighting to its advantage to bring out the scariness of the psycho killers mask and the jump scare are so terrifyingly memorable. Also this movie is not like a lot of other horror movies where you have some unknown thing trying to kill people, its realistic and its something that can really happen to any of us, but it all takes place on Hallowen, in the night time.Without this movie, franchises like Friday the 13th and Scream would probably never exist. One more thing, the survivor of this movie is one of the smartest victims and is definitely one of the best horror movie heroines of all time.

I started watching horror movies 37 years ago, at age 8. I have seen every type of horror there is, that had any substance. Occasionally, I might get a chill down my spine. For the most part, they didn't bother me too much. I still love to watch them for the plot twist, unique scenery and kills. Here are the 10 that I have watched the most.
1. Halloween (1978)
2. The Exorcist (1973)
3. Jaws (1975)
4. The Shining (1980)
5. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
6. Carrie (1976)
7. It Follows (2014)
8. The Conjuring (2013)
9. Psycho (1960)
10. Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter (1984)

It's not only one of the greatest horror movies of all time, but it may also be one of the greatest movies of all time. Halloween never gets old, no matter how many times you watch it.

Come on people Halloween is the best one out of all the others because Michael Myers is pure evil! You'll all see what I'm talking about after 08/31/07. Halloween indeed is the creator of all slasher films, if it wasn't 4 this movie... Nightmare on elm street, friday the 13, and all those so-called "Scariest movies" would not exist! So think again and vote for Halloween

4 Alien

Why is Alien 1979 so high on this list. Don't you know there are no Aliens. E.T. 1982 is about scary as this movie. I think the Thing 1982 is scarier than this movie.I just don't get into alien movies. The guy who said A nightmare On Elm Street 1984 is insulting. I believe in more you could die in your sleep while dreaming from a maniac more than an alien. I just got to say alien was boring. A nightmare On Elm street was good and scary. And another thing The Exorcist is the best made horror film. Alien is not a horror film.

The fact that this is below nightmare on elm street is insulting. Alien is not only the best horror movie of all time, but one of the best films ever made. What really separates alien from the other films on this list is the beautiful cinematography, masterfully crafted tension, and interesting cast of characters. The people in this movie aren't stereotypes or dumb teenagers, but real people who go through real growth throughout the course of the film. Not to mention it had a badass sequel in Aliens as well.

What's wrong with this top 10! Straight to DVD films and remakes? And let's not forget a certain over-appreciated gore franchise that spawned 7 agonizing sequels... Oh yeah Alien is awesome. Best movie monster ever conjured and one of the most suspenseful movies ever made with imagery that haunts to this day.

The original, the second, Prometheus, and covenant were all AWESOME! The third and fourth one... not so much. The reason alien is so cool is because it is so original, the casting is great, it's scary, and It has lots of famous moments!

5 A Nightmare on Elm Street

A legit Wes Craven horror movie. The sequels were all cheese and fairly stupid. This original one though was the most chilling. There weren't silly Freddy one-liners. Freddy wasn't over-the-top and crammed down the viewer's throat for the 90 minute duration. And have to admit that the story was original and actually fairly good. It was an instant classic.

This film was actually based off of a true story! I'm not even kidding. And before you all ask, no, there was no real Freddy Krueger who killed kids and came back from the dead as a ghost. Director Wes craven stated that he based this film on events reported of people dying in their sleep. This disease is known as sudden unexplained nocturnal death syndrome (SUNDS).

What this list is so stupid I might have laughed through the whole thing oh wait that's what I did! This is not even remotely close to being scary! A 8 year old seen it and do you know what they asked if this movie was a comedy for kids! This list is the worst. Whoever made this must have cotton for a brain. They should be ashamed!

The amount of creativity needed to concoct a story like this was brought to life by one of the forefathers of the slasher horror genre. A genre which dominated the 70s-90s with some influences even seen in modern horror films.

Taking away the meaning of sleep for a generation has made Freddy Krueger a pop culture icon.

6 Psycho

Such a greatly interesting and tense movie. It defined the WHOLE genre of horror as the next best horror movies they had were laughable monster movies like Dracula and Frankenstein. Classic horror at it's best and was the career defining movie for the genius himself Hitchcock. Whilst not as scary as the movies we get today, it has that gripping feel to it that keeps you in suspense the whole time. A definite must-see movie for anyone who hasn't seen it already (I'd be surprised if you haven't). 100% better than the cheap clique horror movies we mostly get today.

Psycho is #6... I expected this from this world today. May I ask you, where horror movies would have been today if it weren't for Psycho? Without Psycho, there would be no Exorcist, The Shining, Silence Of The Lambs, and more. Hitchcock's Psycho redefined this genre of horror. It's still a pretty scary movie despite it being over 50+ years old. It also has one of the best plot twists ever in movie/book history.

Sir Alfred Hitchcock, the Master of Suspense, gives us Psycho, the chilling tale of Marion Crane, who was gruesomely murdered at the Bates Motel, while on the run from the law for stealing 40,000 dollars. The soundtrack is chillingly perfect, and the acting is superb. Who did it? Was it Norman Bates, the boyishly charming owner of the motel? No, it couldn't be. But, his mother seems a little bit suspicious.

I have an unpopular opinion, that opinion is that Psycho is the greatest horror movie ever created. This movie is groundbreaking and very influential. This movie is Hitchcock's greatest masterpiece and the acting is on point. Especially Anthony Perkins' role as the quirky, troubled, mommy's boy who also happens to be a psychotic killer that is Norman Bates.

7 Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

This should be the scariest movie of all time. The girl running from a big guy with a chainsaw and skin on his face. In real life your heart beat would be so fast and you would take a number one and two in your pants. If your man or women yes you would scream very loud. knowing you are going to die if you don't escape. In this case eaten. Jaws the shark is scary but I don't go swimming In the ocean. Maybe a swimming pool. That's why Jaws is not scary. that's what I say. I live around rednecks. that's why The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 is the scariest movie of all time.

I'm voting just to comment on this. This was the grossest, most disturbing thing I have ever seen. If you want to squeal at jumpscares with your boyfriend, watch an 80s slasher movie. If you want your stomach rolling days after you see something, watch this. I've never had to turn my head at any amount of gore, but there were times I had to look away from this. While yeah, it was kind of crazy, it was amazing for its time. Keep in mind, this is '74. It's scares you in a way you're not used to, and doesn't quite match up to any certain genre of 20th century horror, like the 60s unstoppable-force-of-evil, or the 70s man-in-a-mask.

Horror movies don't scare me, I have a dark sense of humour so I usually laugh at them. Voting Chainsaw Massacre because Leather face was inspired by real life killer, Edward Gein. (I know Psycho and various others are inspired by him but I like this representation the best, it's the closest and darkest) I'm intrigued by serial killers from a psychological standpoint.

Okay, most films in the top ten deserve to be there but I'm sorry, this is THE best horror film. It works outside of the horror genre as a film itself. Maybe some films are scarier, but this was revolutionary in it's time. The makers of this films were daring, this film pushed boundaries and is an absolutely iconic piece of art.

8 The Silence of the Lambs

The Silence of the Lambs is easily hands down the best horror movie I've ever watched. The movie itself doesn't throw countless buckets of gore at you, so when the movie actually does use gore, they use it very effectively and it can scare you much more. This movie also never had a dull moment in my opinion. The movie is one of the few movies that I can say never gets a bit uninteresting. With the help of genius characters and dialogue, the movie boils a slowly growing feeling of suspense, and that feeling stays for the whole movie. On top of all of this, it doesn't feel the need to drench you with horror cliches and unoriginal plot points. This movie is a true original. Not only are the plot and characters very twisted and disturbing, but you can also clearly tell the plot was very carefully mapped out and must have took an extreme amount of effort. All these elements put together and you have a cinematic gen and a horror classic that will be remembered for all of eternity.

Gore and lots of blood is nice, like Evil Dead, Saw, Friday the 13th,...
The best horror movies are those with fewer blood and no gore, like The Shining, It, Alien, Psycho, Rosemary's Baby,...
Silence of the Lambs is upper-class.
2 terrifying murderers, excellent portrayed by Levine and Hopkins.
Best role of those 2. Lecter is downright scary, while Bill is... Also scary.
Jodie Foster and the rest of the cast were near perfection.
To conclude, the dialogue was excellent.
Silence of the Lambs deserves a top 3 spot.

Silence of The Lambs is scary where it really counts, the mind. With stupid slasher movies and even worse horror movie remakes, silence of the lambs stands out because it could really happen. Not to boot it is the only movie on this list to win a oscar for best picture.

One of the best films ever, anthony hopkins has a way of becoming the character he's playing, not just acting the role out, and in my opinion this is what makes this film bone chilling!
"it rubs the lotion on the skin, or else it gets the hose again"

9 The Thing

This movie needs to be higher. It is a classic horror film with great characters, settings, suspense, and gore, and you won't be able to forget it. I watched this film when I was 21, and it still shakes me up to this day. The special effects are solid, and most of them actually feel very real. Again, the suspense this movie hinges on is what makes it so enjoyable, and the mystery behind it also does. We never truly see exactly what The Thing looks like because it takes on the form of its host, kind of like a shape-shifter, so we never truly see its real form, and that's what makes The Thing on it's own, even scarier. Since we never see what The Thing actually looks like, we leave it up to our minds to figure out what it looks like, and I love that because usually the things that go unknown, or are unknown, are the scariest parts of all...

The thing really stands out and is scary because it was made so well,it is john Carpenter's masterpiece in my opinion.
More Lovecraft than the original 50s movie, the idea of the Thing being a parasitic shape shifter is terrifying and the special effects match the directors vision, the spider head is just one of many practical effects that CGI could never match. It is also a very claustrophobic film even if it is set in the Arctic. This movie just pips the exorcist for me as the best horror of all time.

Just watched it and it's defiantly in my top 10. The movie gives off a strong sense of paranoia because they don't know who has been infected with the thing/alien life form at any given moment. This paranoia is demonstrated by phenomenal and realistic acting. Not to mention the special effects for this movie is off the charts, especially considering it was released in 1982.

One of the most realistically gory and brutal films ever made for 1982 everything look real. Especially when that guys head comes of and starts crawling like a spider that was amazing. Should be number 2 on this list just most people don't know how gory this film is.

10 Scream

This movie totally gave the slasher genre (and really all horror) new life and started a new trend of smart suspense-driven horror movies. The entire franchise is classic!

The first horror movie I ever watched was Scream 3. It was on T.V. at a pool house. I didn't feel like going in the water again, so I watched it. It started my love for horror movies.

Awesome movie. One of my favorites. Lots of suspense/thrill. Interesting and thrilling plot/story too. Not boring like at all compare to other horror films.

This movie is only this high because it is a teen flick. Everybody knows that teens are the main ones to go to the movies. Jaws and Texas Chainsaw are better.

The Contenders
11 Jaws

It's funny how a movie that frightened people so badly, they stayed out of the water for two years could slip this low. It had a little bit of everything, a beautiful town, a strong family unit and a mayor who only cared about money and prestige. Not to mention, a hard nosed sea captain. All this, and there is a 30 foot monster shark waiting to ruin them all. People, I know most of you like everything to be new but this movie, for 43 years old, is great in every way. Please, vote it up.

Dude, I love this movie!
It's one of my favorite movies of all time!
I still remember not being scared of the shark or the water after watching the movie
I also just love the whole thing of "It's what we don't see really scares the crap outta us"

It was the beginning of the blockbuster era, but what a cool beginning. Action excitement, terror, a few laughs, it had it all. Spielberg at his best. And the clincher: relatable characters and great acting.

This movie had a very high budget when it came out and many people liked it. It definitely made a lot of people afraid to go into the water. It has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

12 Saw

How is this not number 1? Texas Chainsaw Massacre is weird, In Scream, Billy and Stu act like they're mentally ill at the end but it's still very good, The Shining is weird with that kid who talks to his fingers but it's a great movie, all the others in the top 10 are awesome but Saw is a masterpiece. Not just the first film, all 8 were truly thrilling to watch.

Saw is not necessarily the scariest movie, but it is a GREAT movie if you want to see some gore. The story is also very good for it being 7 movies long. The end was such a twist, I loved it. The reverse bear trap was the BEST, its too bad we don't see it actually work until the second time. This movie deserves to be on the top ten.

Saw is an AMAZING movie, but unfortunately, every sequel had a hollow plot and was just an excuse for producers to mangle and mutilate people for money. Like Halloween/Nightmare On Elm Street, this falls under the category of horror films that had a great opening and several terrible sequels

Watched it for the first time in 2017 and it was AMAZING. Like everyone else I would say its scary, but it was fantastic. The character development of Adam and Lawrence, to the insane plot twists. It will keep you interested till the end for sure. Also that amazing scene in Adams apartment when the lights are off. just so great

13 Paranormal Activity

Original horror is always the scariest. But this one combined Blair Witch style found footage w a steady dose of Amityville Horror style haunting. This movie has the creep factor for sure!

PA1 scared you, whether you admit it or not. It did. Now PA2, PA3, PA4 and I'm sure the uneagerly expected PA5 are quite different stories. They were pumped out as fast as Mel B pumps out kids. No thought to the story & terrible, terrible acting... Now the acting in the first WAS sub-par, but it didn't affect the overall movie in such a huge way it was unwatchable, unlike the other three. Please dear god. No more. But back to the point, great movie. Kept most of us up googling demonology and eye witness accounts of ghosts, I think.

This movie sucked. Wasn't scary, tried too much to be realistic and forced, the characters were blanded, the jump scares were bland and everything about this film that scared people were just chalked up to ehh. I saw it at night no lights on and sound up all the way, it still didn't scare me. It was just a garbage film to check the masses with its blandness and its unoriginal scares.

I went to the movie theatre with my best friend to see this. We thought it would be FUBAR... I nearly crapped my pants. He was so scared that he fainted and they had a paramedic take him away and everything. I don't know if I can say anything else about how scary this movie is.

14 Night of the Living Dead

Night Of The Living Dead is one of the scariest movies of the 60's besides Psycho. The best zombie movie I seen should rank 6 for best horror movies ever made.

Romero created zombies with this movie! How many directors can claim they started a whole new creature/genre? Back then it was bold and new. And I just watched the documentary, filming was so challenging, they weren't sure they would even finish it. they had no budget so they used locals for zombies, the crew worked as actors as well (for example the actor who played the douche in the movie was also producer and make-up artist), many scenes were improvised and budget for sound mixing was won last minute with a game of chess! Geez and it became one of the most iconic film ever. Quite an accomplishment!

This movie began the "zombie" genre which runs amok today and should be ranked in the top ten! Night of the Living Dead is The Walking Dead's granddaddy! Not scary? You've got to be kidding! The innate fright is multiplied greatly due to the film being in black & white. Incredibly creepy and original!

It might be good enough in 1968 but sure now it is an awful horror comedy. I mean it has not even many death scenes.

15 The Omen

This is a vote for the 1976 "The Omen." Not that two bit hack job that opened on 6/6/06. This movie freakin traumatized me the first time I saw it. It sent Christians into counselling.

Great movie! I love it. It is good picture and quality for a older movie. I even like the idea. Time to find Damien: Omen II!

If this is only number 18 then it's sadly underrated. A top ten horror film for sure. My personal favourite..

How the hell can paranormal activity be higher than this masterpiece?

16 Friday the 13th

Far scarier than half of the films above it. I'd think it twice before going on a camp now. I think the key elements of this movie was the fact that you don't know what or who the hell is Jason till the end of the film. And then you kinda regret finding out. Its brilliance, magnificent piece of horror film-making. Should be on the top 5.

Jason is unbeaten I would like to see Freddy v Jason 2 Jason v michal Myers Jason and chucky and THE REAVGERS ( that inclus Jason, Freddy, penny wise, screen, saw, chucky, slender man because a movie coming out, michal Myers, purge, leather face, lebaguan, Uncle Sam, the T. rex, blue Charlie delta and echo, I Rex, indoraptor pin head, Alien, predator, venom, carnage, zombies, thanos, Loki, predator, jaws and Dracula

It may not have Jason Voorhees being a badass horror villain here but it is still an awesome movie. This film sparked the beginning of a new era of adding sex scenes in horror movies, mostly slasher.

Howcome Friday the 13th is not higher on this list. The movie main killer is Jason Vorhees is the most portrayed horror movie killer in they world, though peaple when portyaing him make him have a chainsaw, Jason never had a chainsaw, he always had a machete. Come on people get Jason's weapon right!

17 Stephen King's It

I'm going to be perfectly honest, I really didn't like this film. It's very melo-dramatic, the characters seem like they're going insane rather than all of this actually happening, and Pennywise the Dancing Clown is the most overrated horror movie villain of all time! All he does is stand around, look threatening, and does nothing. If it's killed half the other people in town, how come it can't just kill these kids off? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I know many of you may not think it is scary and, in a way, it's not. But understand the potential that this movie has in modern day. It is the essential "kid-friendly" horror film. It has mummies and clowns and werewolves and clowns and photographs that come to life and clowns and a clown's face melting and clowns and clowns and clowns. And all of this is done with 80s cheese and Tim Curry giving 110% in every scene. While it is by no means a perfect movie it does have its place.

Tim Curry's Pennywise is both hilarious, fun and terrifying. However, it's just the villain that is great. The movie is AWFUL! The new movie may not have Tim Curry, but at least it's got excellent actors, a great story and amazing atmospheric ambiance to add to the horrific 80s setting which is awesome. Please, avoid this film at all cost - Watch YouTube clips with Tim Curry's Pennywise instead - and go see the new film. You won't regret it.

Great horror film, especially the fact that it makes you imagine the off-screen deaths as you want. Creppy clown, incredible performance by rim curry, good flashbacks and lack of blood.

18 The Hills Have Eyes

Just watched the original movie by Wes Craven, and I think it's probably one of the best horror movies I have ever seen! It is so gritty and brutal and full of a dark atmosphere. Defiantely reccomend this one for any horror fan!

This is my favorite movie of all time. The special effects were amazing and the makeup didn't look like makeup. Go Jupiter's clan, I love you!

The film keeps you wondering what the hell is gonna happen next! And you feel so much pity for the victims at a point! Great film.

Remake is the best version for me. Relentless brutality & torture. Truly brilliant movie which I throughly recommend.

19 The Grudge

This movie is so scary! The grudge and the ring were always similar to me because they had the whole drenched in water dark haired girl thing going on. Don't watch it by yourself in the dark. You'll regret it. Also, how is Saw #5? It's not that scary. It uses one little thing called gore, which I don't find frightening. Jump scenes are where its at.

Not sure why it's not number one I've seen the top three films above this and they don't scare me as much as grudge. The first one I saw was grudge 3. The scene where she comes out of the painting. Just thinking about it gives me a bad memory and shivers. When I watched and couldn't even walk in to a room without the lights on and look beneath my bed and closets etc. Guess its number 4 because not many people have seen it.But Seriously this FREAKED THE HELL OUT OF ME!

The Grudge is the best film I had ever seen. I am telling you to watch it and you cannot sleep without the couple of days. The ghost is most frightful character in whole film. Watch it and you will knew that it is the most... Horror.

This movie is about dying with anger and hate. It lives up to that theme all the way through. This is one of the few horror movies that should have never made a sequel. It was definitely good enough to stand on its own.

20 The Conjuring

James wan is a brilliant director, and this is honestly some of his best work. He also directed jaws, the conjuring 2, and the insidious. He is also at this moment making aqua man. He gives you time to like the characters and the plots are not to complicated, but it's the fact that it is a true story! I recommend the conjuring for modern horror fans.

While I was looking for the original Amityville Horror, I stumbled across this one. AH was a spookfest that just didn't have much surrounding story. The Conjuring not only references AH by the use of the Warrens, but also has the flexibility to do the spookfest while maintaining an intriguing storyline. Wan did a brilliant job making this movie and, In my opinion, is a must see if you are a horror fan

PLease, bring it to top 3, best direction I would say, flawless, background score, night modes, amazingly crafted piece by James Wan who has delivered Saw series earlier! Please vote for Conjuring!

It is very scarist movie I saw ever I couldn't sleep at night for two months the effect was nice and that sounds in mind. It is best horror movie. I like it. Nice directed it is a real story that is very best part of this movie.

21 Suspiria

Suspiria should get more credit. The best horror witch film of all time.Should be higher I like the color in the film. It has one of the best music in horror films.

Favorite movie ever! Last film shot in Technicolor

The original was awesome! The reboot sucks though.

Weird as hell!

22 The Ring

I LOVE this movie even though it's not that type of film that is actually GOOD outside of the horror genre I still adore it. I watched The Ring when I was 10 with my best friend and I admit we were not scared at all we even laughed a lot of times and I seriously don't understand why people think it's so scary! I watched this movie more then 10 times and never got scared. But I still love this movie, it was a big part of my childhood.

Should be higher. There's really a scary atmosphere in this movie. And the cast is perfect. Naomi Watts ( as usual ) and all other actors and actresses are playing very convincing their character. The combination of superb acting with an outstanding script is very rare in horror movies and that's why I believe that this movie needs to be ranked higher.

So me and my best fiend and his brother watched this on Halloween night and at first, we thought it was cheesy and not scary. But at the end when the girl crawled out of the T.V. we where terrified. Then, exactly 7 days later, I was at my aunts house and there was a ring from where a table was, I freaked out and thought I was gonna die! So scary!

How can this movie be at no 9? You won't believe I have seen all movies in this list and you will find it the the most scary. You will not be able to see a tape or switch on the T.V.. See it. It is a speechless movie in terms of horror and acting too.

23 Carrie

I really like this movie. It wasn't that scary and it was a little slow but it was great. I was really mad when the bucket of blood fell on Carrie, so I was quite happy when Carrie got her revenge! I like when she killed Chris, my least favorite.

Actually this movie was a mediocre for me, well it may seem OK, but this wasn't scary at all. Anyway, this movie wasn't so bad, at least it's emotional & well made.

I don't know which was scarier, the wide eyed Carrie on stage or her hand coming out of the grave? This was one of the greatest revenge movies ever.

The only movie to make me cry. It is so disturbing and emotional. That jump scene at the end is one hell of a jump scene!

24 Wrong Turn

It was a very disgusting movie... Someone eating the flesh of another person is not at all scary... The starting was good enough to convince the people that the movie is full of suspense... But gradually the movie lost the public's interest!

Wrong turn was brilliant. I bet I've seen it over a 100 times and I still get something from it every time I watch it, it will forever be my favorite movie. If you're looking for a good 83 minutes of your time, you won't regret using it on this movie.

Wrong turn 1 release on 30 may 2003. Wrong turn 2 release on 9 october 2007. Wrong turn 3 initial release on 8 october 2009. Wrong turn 4 release on 17 october 2011. Wrong turn 5 release on 23 october 2012. Wrong turn 6 intialy should be release on 1 october 2014. This is my humble reqest to the producer and directer

This is an awesome movie! Along with it's sequel and The Hills Have Eyes of course, my favourite movies of all time!
