Top 10 Best The 1975 Songs

The Top Ten
1 Robbers

My favorite song since it really has a deeper meaning if you just put yourself into the song's lyrics. This song is also sung with feelings which enhance its beauty. I can feel the pain of letting go.

Well, I've been longing for this kind of music and I don't care what other people say, but I think that The 1975 is my jam. I'm grateful for their music.

If you are a true fan of The 1975 and don't just like them for the "hype," then you should agree that this is their best song. The chilling guitar, the rawness of his voice, and the climax around the bridge make for a truly incredible song. I don't know how Matty can still sing this with so much emotion when they wrote it almost 10 years ago.

2 Girls

Great song! Really catchy, and the video is fun too. I love Matt Healy's voice in this song. It's so interesting. Very original and definitely my favorite song of theirs.

Why isn't this number 1 or 2? Chocolate or Girls are the ones that need to be number 1!

This song gets me really pumped and makes me feel empowered!

3 Somebody Else

Despite the fact I can't decide between Somebody Else and Paris, this song makes me feel emotionally attached to the song and its tune. The lyrics and the beat are moving and make me feel something no other song does. I can never help myself from singing along to it. It will forever be in my favorites. Such an incredible song by the one and only The 1975!

Though I can't decide between Robbers or Somebody Else, this is a really good song. I play this all the time. It just calms me down. I have really bad anxiety, and this just helps a lot. Even though you can't relate to the lyrics (like me), you'd still enjoy it. I don't know, it's just a very beautiful song.

4 Sex

Wanted to vote for something that should be higher like "Settle Down", "Heart Out", or "Milk", but there's no denying "Sex" is their best song. Huge riff, Adam goes in on this one, and I just love it.

Especially live - "Sex" is the closer now, and it's the one everyone goes mental for. Chants of "We want Sex! We want Sex!" were chorused through the audience.

I think this song has captured what it feels like to be in love perfectly. It is my favorite song of all time, and even though I've played it millions of times, I still absolutely love it.

5 The Sound

It's a new song with a new sound, but it's just so catchy. The piano compliments Matty's voice. I love the new poppy sound but hope that their old sounds stay with them.

What a bop! Just plain addictive. Groovy piano, sweet synths, and great vocals by Matty. Should be right up there!

Probably the most joyful, catchy, and best song of 2016! I love it!

6 Chocolate

I don't care if it's one of their most popular. It's up there for a reason. It's amazing. So catchy, well-written, and that guitar lick is gorgeous.

I could never get sick of this song. You could sway to it and sing along for hours on end.

This song is timeless! I would listen to it on repeat for a month.

7 A Change of Heart

The more you listen to this song, the better it gets. It's such a different feel from the rest of the band's songs, but this song is so beautiful, witty, and clever that it has quickly become my favorite off the new album. Simply a wonderful song lyrically and musically.

I love how this song makes references to their other songs such as Robbers and The City. It's really interesting that you can relate this song back. This song is so unique. I think it's one of their best.

Not only is this my favorite by them, but one of my favorite songs ever. Incredible feel and vibe, so atmospheric. I love the quirky, unorthodox lyrics.

8 You

Already listened to most of their songs. I voted this because Robbers and Sex are already on top.

So here's their top five best for me:
1. Robbers
2. Sex
3. You
4. Settle Down
5. Me

Other great songs of The 1975:
Medicine, Heart Out, A Change of Heart, So Far (It's Alright), Somebody Else, Girls, Chocolate, The Sound

This one is quite possibly my all-time favorite by The 1975. "You" has catchy lyrics and fun beats and is perfect for any mood. I have never been able to exactly point out why I am so in love with this song, and maybe that's why I love it so much.

9 Me

Thank God this is in the top 5. I was going to have an existential crisis if a bunch of people who haven't explored all of The 1975's songs came here to vote for Chocolate, The City, and Girls, and then leave. This is the most emotional song they've ever released. It's Matty's soul bared in a song. It's not something you see a lot.

I never don't get chills in the bridge riff when the saxophone comes in.

Every time I listen to it, I have to cry because it is about guilt, and a lot of people (and me too) can relate to it. It's a very personal song that carries a lot of sadness. For me personally, as a huge fan of The 1975, it is one of my favorite songs of theirs. Matty once said that it is his favorite song of the songs they have made so far too.

10 Paris

An absolute favorite of mine. Has such beautiful and relaxing lyrics that make me daydream as I sing along to it every time. This is a true masterpiece of a song that is totally underrated and deserves much more attention - should be in at least the top 10 if not 5!

Absolutely amazing and moving. On level with Somebody Else. Lyrics are different and unrepetitive. I find myself calmer and more pensive after listening.

Underrated. One of their best works, with GREAT lyrics that tell a story.

The Contenders
11 If I Believe You

Everything about this song is so perfect. The vocals provoke so much emotion, and the lyrics, you can tell, aren't marketed towards anyone. It's truly the type of music they want to make. You can just hear the passion put into this song.

The emotion in this when performed live is insanely beautiful. It reminds me why I fell in love with this band in the first place. You can really see Matty's take on religion and why it means so much to him.

Probably their most underrated song. Intensely relatable and portrays a sense of emotional and philosophical vulnerability rare for the genre and era.

12 Settle Down

I don't understand how this isn't in the top 3, let alone not in the top 5! This song honestly makes me feel an indescribable amount of happiness. Nothing even compares to it!

I honestly think this should be number 1, or Robbers, or Me. Those 3 are by far their best, but I can't get Settle Down out of my head. Damn, it's so good.

This song has always been strange because it's equally respected and just as equally underrated. My favorite 1975 song for sure, has been since I first heard it. Matty's vocals...

13 Love Me

Awesome song! So jazzy and can always put me in a good mood!

This song is so cool! It deserves to be at least in the top 15.

Very catchy. You can't help but hum along to it any time of the day.

14 Love It If We Made It

This song completely encompasses to me what The 1975 are about, from the huge cultural relevance to the incredibly catchy chorus. One of the most important songs of 2018.

This is their best new song, way better than Give Yourself a Try. It has vocals of Sex and the vibe of Robbers. It's just beautiful!

A bold political statement that should be played to every human being on Earth. Amazing!

15 Fallingforyou

The lyrics to this song are moving and emotional. Makes you want to sing out loud and also cry at the same time. A very relatable song.

This is my favorite love song ever. I think everyone can relate to it because everyone fell in love at least once.

Fallingforyou is so bittersweet. It has beautiful lyrics that make you cry. But aren't they the best songs?

16 Give Yourself a Try
17 Ugh!

It's just so awesome. I don't know why this is rated so lowly.

If you've ever been a drug addict, you will relate.

Listening to this work of art right now.

18 The City

The lyrics are so wrong, but so right at the same time. Beautiful song. Definitely one of the best.

The simple and very random lyrics in this song just make it right. I think this is one of the best.

Listen to this on a really good sound system - the drums and bass shake the car!

19 Undo

This song is so beautiful. The harmonies are on point, and it's just really relaxing. I can picture an aesthetic in my head which fits the song perfectly. It's really easy and fun to sing and play on the ukulele. I really love this track.

Such a beautiful song. It hits you. This should be up in the top 5! Love it, so much emotion.

20 If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)
21 I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It

Wonderful and atmospheric. One of my favorite The 1975 songs.

22 She's American

My favorite song from the new album. It has that throwback to the old sound that I miss.

This song is really catchy, and the lyrics are great. It must be in the top 10.

This song just resonates with me for some reason. No clue why.

23 Heart Out

Why is this only number 8? It's my favourite song from the album.

I love this song. I love this melody.

24 Sincerity is Scary

Feels so nice
