Top 10 Best ABBA Songs

The Top Ten
1 The Winner Takes It All

Such a sad and painful song! It's so sweet and angelic! Sadly, it's a song about Bjorn and Agnetha's divorce. I could feel the strong emotion that Agnetha felt and how hard it was for her to sing about her own breakup.

Obviously, she is devastated, but she even recalled that this was her favorite ABBA song because it had amazing lyrics. I totally agree with her! I love this song!

The second song off of the album Super Trouper, about a breakup that had a part in the eventual split of ABBA. This is an excellent song, and definitely one of ABBA's best. The lyrics are meaningful and the emotion is true.

2 Dancing Queen

I personally adore every single ABBA song, but if I had to pick just one, I would choose Dancing Queen. I just feel like this song is a classic and it puts everyone in such a great mood. It is such a cheerful and upbeat song!

Such a cheerful and upbeat song, and this is definitely one of ABBA's trademark songs. Every time I talk to my friends about ABBA, they always remember this song.

To me, it's the absolute best song ever made, no question! I'm thankful to have the chance to know it. The voices and melody are just from heaven.

3 S.O.S.

This song is my favorite out of ABBA's catalog because the harmony is perfect. In the iconic Broadway show and movie Mamma Mia, it was more catchy, but ABBA had better singers.

Not just ABBA's best song, but one of the best songs ever. The perfect pop song with hooks to die for.

Super catchy and an amazing song about love, but it is unfortunately ruined by Pierce Brosnan.

4 Mamma Mia

Mamma Mia is one of their best songs! I think it should be higher on the list.

I like The Winner Takes It All, but this should be so much higher on the list.

I honestly prefer this over Dancing Queen.

5 Knowing Me, Knowing You

This song is a classic. Spectacular, powerful, and breathtaking, with a heart-stopping pause just before the chorus is belted out against pulsating background guitars.

The vocals of all four members are blended to perfection, while Frida's deep mezzo declarations resign us to the fact that it's all over.

ABBA has a catalog full of contenders, but this one - like SOS and The Name of the Game - captures the essence of what the group did best. They used a power chorus of rich harmonies drenched with melancholy to counter the lonely and somber solo verse.

6 Take a Chance on Me

My favorite ABBA song. The harmonizing, in my opinion, is the best out of all their hits.

The best ABBA song, and my other favorite is Angel Eyes.

So catchy! A lovely beat and so fun to listen to!

7 Waterloo

Catchiest song by far. Probably one of the catchiest love songs I've ever heard. I love how it's history and love together.

This not in the top ten? It's a crime!

8 Fernando

This is an amazing song, and I wish it could be number three. Please make my dream come true. I am literally begging and pleading while I am writing this.

I think this deserves more than to be a top six. This song was in my head for over two weeks, and it really should be higher on this chart. Please believe me and take this comment into consideration. Thanks, and Fernando all the way!

It is really the best ABBA song. Frida's vocal is really beautiful. The sound of the music and lyrics is so wonderful. This song is a work of art!

9 Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)

14? This better get higher sometime! This song is awesome and just makes you feel good every time you hear it.

Love this song. I know all the ABBA songs on the first page, but this has to be one of the best.

The best one ever! I love this song! It makes me want to dance!

10 Chiquitita

This one should be in the top 5. The incredible technical blend of the background vocals in terms of rhythm and melody is, in my opinion, unmatched compared to today's music.

I swear if my friend ever gets slightly upset about anything, I will make her listen to this. This song just reminds me of, I don't know, the feeling of protection over a younger person.

Oh, God, this song can make you laugh so badly you can't imagine. I personally feel this song cannot be compared to others.

11 Does Your Mother Know

I remember hearing this upbeat song as a kid and love it just as much now! My favorite ABBA song!

Another great and energetic song! It's great to dance to!

12 Super Trouper

The problem with songs like Super Trouper is that they could easily be the best songs for other groups, but it can't compete with ABBA's masterpieces.

I remember really liking it when I was younger. I can still hear some parts of it in my head.

I love this song! It's the one by ABBA I play the most and never get tired of.

13 Voulez-Vous

An awesome song! It has a catchy tune, and my brother who hates ABBA loves this song! That's pretty good for him because he's not a fan of ABBA.

I love it. One of the best, most danceable disco songs out there!

Catchy and upbeat tune! Should be higher on the list!

14 The Name of the Game

I've heard this song a hundred times, but it's 2016, and today it came through on Spotify. I was in just the right place to hear it as though it were the first time. It hooked me in and knocked me out.

I played it several times in a row, trying to understand all that's going on in here. I don't know technical music, but the word "counterpoint" has to describe some of this. It's like it's structured several layers thick, all playing off each other vertically, but also with totally different melodies colliding sideways. It's a funhouse ride!

It reminds me of the harmonic depth of the Beach Boys, coupled with the Beatles' tendency to abruptly shift songs 90 degrees but make it sound absolutely logical and just plain fascinating. I'm sure that "Dancing Queen" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You" will remain my definitive ABBA songs, but "The Name of the Game" is going into my playlist of "Sonic Masterworks."

15 Lay All Your Love on Me

This edges out Super Trouper for my personal favorite. Hard to believe it isn't in the top 10 at least.

I really like this song, but it's quite underrated compared to the others. Still, a very good song!

One of the best disco songs ever. It's just so catchy!

16 One of Us

This song is achingly beautiful. Once again, Agnetha does a wonderful job of playing the broken-hearted with her beautiful, plaintive voice.

Such a catchy song but also so emotional. Deserves to be higher on this list.

This song deserves to be in the top 5. One of Us is amazing. One of the best songs ever.

17 Money, Money, Money

My brother used to listen to this song almost every day when I was a kid, so I automatically have it carved in my mind. The lyrics and the rhythm, rhyme, and melody are very energetic, fun, and melodious.

I truly hope it would be higher on this list!

Money, money must be funny in the rich man's world. What a rhyme, I must say. Good job, ABBA!

"Money, money must be funny in the rich man's world." What a rhyme, I must say. Good job, ABBA!

18 Eagle

ABBA is one of the greatest pop groups ever, and I love the song "Eagle." But to call this song psychedelic is ridiculous. This is not a song written on LSD or another hallucinogenic drug.

It's a beautiful pop song with "normal" lyrics. "Fly away" doesn't mean to get high and was certainly not intended to be listened to when you're high on drugs.

Super psychedelic! So beautiful, it makes you feel as if you are actually out there in the wilderness, soaring above the pine trees!

Really dramatic and psychedelic song with great solos from Bjorn Ulvaeus! My favorite from ABBA: The Album.

19 Angel Eyes

Partially to be contrarian, but also because this has always been in my top 5 ABBA songs. It pained me to see it so low.

It's a great song! The lyrics tell you a lot, and I love the singing!

20 I Have a Dream

Very good song and melody. The lyrics are tremendously optimistic and full of life.

Very close to a Greek song. Brilliant and simple tune.

I love this beautiful, peaceful, and pure song.

21 Like an Angel Passing Through My Room

So beautiful. Tied with The Winner Takes It All as my favorite ABBA song. So delicate and heartfelt.

This is one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard.

22 The Visitors

This song is in my top 5 of all ABBA songs. It is definitely best experienced in a club. It's dark and meant to be danced to. It's a song about paranoia coming true.

Great song and music. Love this song so much!

The music is pretty scary, but it's a good song!

23 I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do

This song was not that popular, but it is the song that made them famous after Waterloo. This song just makes you happy.

24 Thank You for the Music

How is this not in the top ten? I love the lyrics, and the song seems very special.

This should be in the top 10! The song is special and lovely.

Why is it so low? This is an original song without romance or something similar.

25 Our Last Summer

One of ABBA's best and certainly deserves a higher ranking than 34.
