Top 10 Best Albums of 1980

The Top Ten
  1. The Game - Queen

"Another One Bites the Dust" followed by "Need Your Loving Tonight" followed by "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" may be the best lineup of songs on an album, period.

This album is the definition of Queen.

  2. Back in Black - AC/DC

It contains some of the best hard rock songs like Hells Bells, Back in Black, and You Shook Me All Night Long. Also, it is the second best-selling album ever.

The second best of the year, just behind Rush's Permanent Waves.

Back in Black is the fourth best-selling album in the U.S., so I think this is the best.

  3. Heaven and Hell - Black Sabbath

  4. Blizzard of Ozz - Ozzy Osbourne

  5. Super Trouper - ABBA

Super Trouper is the seventh studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA. With singles like "The Winner Takes It All" and "Super Trouper" becoming #1 hits in several countries worldwide, the album also reached #1 in several countries.

The Winner Takes It All, Our Last Summer, Lay All Your Love on Me, On and On and On, The Piper.

    Awesome songs!

  6. Permanent Waves - Rush

This is an incredible album from the best band of all time! My favorites on this album are "The Spirit of Radio," "Freewill," and "Natural Science."

  20. Never for Ever - Kate Bush

  21. Emotional Rescue - The Rolling Stones

  22. Departure - Journey

  23. Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables - Dead Kennedys

The ultimate hardcore punk album. Brilliant sarcasm perfectly expresses the punk feeling. "I Kill Children" is a real punk banger. "Holiday in Cambodia" is one of the best punk songs of all time. "When Ya Get Drafted" is a great anti-war song. "Let's Lynch the Landlord" is one of the many raging, relatable songs on the album, along with the maybe less relatable but still raging "Chemical Warfare" and "Stealing People's Mail."

The band is also super talented for a hardcore punk group. East Bay Ray delivers perfect guitar work, Klaus' bass really holds the songs together, and Biafra's vocals are just... super cool.

Oh yeah, and "Viva Las Vegas" is, in my opinion, among the greatest and most creative cover songs of all time, up there with "Hurt" and "All Along the Watchtower."

    This album is perfectly expressive.

  24. Freedom of Choice - Devo

  25. Making Movies - Dire Straits

  26. Hi Infidelity - REO Speedwagon

  27. Los Angeles - X

  28. Flash Gordon - Queen
