Top 10 Best Albums of 2001

The Top Ten
1 Michael Jackson - Invincible

If you haven't listened to this album before - 16 songs - you're missing a lot. Every song is brilliantly done by the King of Music himself. Amazing.

Best album of the '00s - very underrated, which is probably due to the lack of promotion it received upon release.

This album is absolutely amazing, just like Michael. It was so underrated. I love and miss you, Mike.

2 Jennifer Lopez - J.Lo

So much fun. Some deep, dreamy songs and then there are some catchy, fun beats and vocals! Love this album! My favorite for sure! Well done!

Her best album by far and one of the best albums of the 2000s!

Best J.Lo album with great hits.

3 Tool - Lateralus

Hell yeah, I love this album. Screw pop. Any rock or metal is good for me. I like The Grudge and Schism the best, but really, the title track is the one that makes this album amazing. No bad songs, just very good music.

Tool is better than any artist above. For God's sake, it has The Grudge, Schism, Parabola, Ticks and Leeches, Lateralus, and Reflection. This album is Tool's best.

Amazing album. Tool's greatest.

4 Britney Spears - Britney

The album, the singles, the era, the sensation, the controversies, the performances - what more can I say? This is Britney at her peak, brave enough to kill her past sexy-good-girl persona. This album really describes her at that time, with her breathy, sexy vocals in great pop-hip-hop tunes.

Britney's best album got to number one. She is the one to watch.

5 Regine Velasquez - Reigne

Just the packaging itself is already breathtaking. How much more the songs in it? Boy, the Songbird really reigns.

6 Shakira - Laundry Service

This album introduced Shakira to the whole world. I love her.

7 Gorillaz - Gorillaz
8 Converge - Jane Doe
9 System of a Down - Toxicity
10 The Strokes - Is This It?

Rather surprised this isn't in the top 10.

The Contenders
11 Bjork - Vespertine
12 Muse - Origin Of Symmetry

If you know Muse, I don't need to explain. If you don't but like rock, do yourself a favor and buy this album. Three words: Plug In Baby.

13 Daft Punk - Discovery

Can listen to this entire album straight through without wanting to skip any tracks. This record is pure musical gold! Daft Punk hasn't really made too much material relative to their long existence, but man, when they put something out, it just confirms their dominance in the genre.

14 Opeth - Blackwater Park
15 Radiohead - Amnesiac
16 Aaliyah - Aaliyah

Greatest Aaliyah album of all time! She is still ahead of her time and outshines all other artists, even in death, with this masterpiece album.

17 Adema - Adema
18 Destiny's Child - Survivor
19 Robbie Williams - Swing When You're Winning
20 Geri Halliwell - Scream If You Wanna Go Faster

I don't know why, but I do love this album. My girlfriend forced me to buy it because she was a huge Spice Girls fan. Well, it was cheesy, but still fun, catchy, and even entertaining.

21 Pink - M!ssundaztood
22 Slipknot - Iowa

Why is this at 85? It was Billboard's number 3 album of 2001! But of course, that doesn't mean anything. This album is one of the darkest albums ever.

23 Weezer - Weezer (Green Album)

Weezer's comeback after not releasing any new music for almost 5 years and being marred by lawsuits and awful critical reception. This album also introduced a new generation of fans to the band and contained their most popular song, Island in the Sun.

24 Super Furry Animals - Rings Around the World
25 Mushroomhead - XX

Good Lord, Solitaire Unraveling is an epic song.
