Top 10 Best Albums of 2001

The Top Ten
  1. Lateralus - Tool

Hell yeah, I love this album. Screw pop. Any rock or metal is good for me. I like The Grudge and Schism the best, but really, the title track is the one that makes this album amazing. No bad songs, just very good music.

Tool is better than any artist above. For God's sake, it has The Grudge, Schism, Parabola, Ticks and Leeches, Lateralus, and Reflection. This album is Tool's best.

    Amazing album. Tool's greatest.

  2. J.Lo - Jennifer Lopez

So much fun. Some deep, dreamy songs and then there are some catchy, fun beats and vocals! Love this album! My favorite for sure! Well done!

Her best album by far and one of the best albums of the 2000s!

Best J.Lo album with great hits.

  3. Britney - Britney Spears

The album, the singles, the era, the sensation, the controversies, the performances - what more can I say? This is Britney at her peak, brave enough to kill her past sexy-good-girl persona. This album really describes her at that time, with her breathy, sexy vocals in great pop-hip-hop tunes.

Britney's best album got to number one. She is the one to watch.

  4. Toxicity - System of a Down

  5. Laundry Service - Shakira

This album introduced Shakira to the whole world. I love her.

  6. Invincible - Michael Jackson

If you haven't listened to this album before - 16 songs - you're missing a lot. Every song is brilliantly done by the King of Music himself. Amazing.

Best album of the '00s - very underrated, which is probably due to the lack of promotion it received upon release.

This album is absolutely amazing, just like Michael. It was so underrated. I love and miss you, Mike.

  7. Gorillaz - Gorillaz

  8. Is This It - The Strokes

Rather surprised this isn't in the top 10.

  9. Jane Doe - Converge

  10. Vespertine - Björk

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    9 Lives - AZ

  13. ?

So Sedated, So Secure - Darkest Hour

  14. The Contenders
  15. Origin of Symmetry - Muse

If you know Muse, I don't need to explain. If you don't but like rock, do yourself a favor and buy this album. Three words: Plug In Baby.

  16. Discovery - Daft Punk

Can listen to this entire album straight through without wanting to skip any tracks. This record is pure musical gold! Daft Punk hasn't really made too much material relative to their long existence, but man, when they put something out, it just confirms their dominance in the genre.

  17. Amnesiac - Radiohead

  18. Iowa - Slipknot

Why is this at 85? It was Billboard's number 3 album of 2001! But of course, that doesn't mean anything. This album is one of the darkest albums ever.

  19. Mutter - Rammstein

  20. ANThology - Alien Ant Farm

  21. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet - Avenged Sevenfold

  22. Aaliyah - Aaliyah

Greatest Aaliyah album of all time! She is still ahead of her time and outshines all other artists, even in death, with this masterpiece album.

  23. Blackwater Park - Opeth

  24. Adema - Adema

  25. M!ssundaztood - Pink

  26. Survivor - Destiny's Child

  27. Weezer (Green Album) - Weezer

Weezer's comeback after not releasing any new music for almost 5 years and being marred by lawsuits and awful critical reception. This album also introduced a new generation of fans to the band and contained their most popular song, Island in the Sun.

  28. Reigne - Regine Velasquez

Just the packaging itself is already breathtaking. How much more the songs in it? Boy, the Songbird really reigns.

  29. XX - Mushroomhead

Good Lord, Solitaire Unraveling is an epic song.
