Top 10 Best Albums of 2002
2002 was a fascinating year for music, reflecting a world in transition and a landscape where genres collided, blurred, and evolved. In hip-hop, 2002 was a banner year, with artists like Eminem reaching the height of their popularity and others, like Nas, continuing to prove their staying power. Meanwhile, rock music was splintering into new and exciting forms - bands like The White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age were breathing fresh energy into alternative and garage rock, while pop-punk outfits like Good Charlotte and New Found Glory spoke to a new generation of angsty teenagers. Even metal had its moment, with bands like System of a Down and Tool delivering complex, heavy-hitting albums that pushed the boundaries of the genre.
Pop music, too, saw its stars shine brightly in 2002. Established icons released records that cemented their legacy, while rising talents were making their voices heard on the global stage. Whether you were listening to the sultry sounds of R&B or the infectious beats of dance-pop, there was something for everyone.
The Eminem Show and By The Way are my favorites. If I could only vote for two.
