Top 10 Best Duets of All Time

The best duets are magical moments when two voices come together to create something greater than the sum of their parts. These duets hold a special place in our hearts and playlists, often delivering heightened emotion, dynamic interplay, and storytelling from dual perspectives that a solo performance just can't match.

Duets span every genre and era of music. From the crooning melodies of classic pop to the soulful strains of R&B, the high-energy beats of dance music to the expressive nuances of classical, duets have long been a beloved feature of the musical landscape. They provide an opportunity for two artists, each with their unique vocal qualities and interpretive styles, to come together and create something entirely new. Whether it's a powerful ballad, a fiery rock anthem, a groovy pop hit, or an expressive piece of classical music, a great duet can be a musical masterpiece in its own right.

The Top Ten
  1. Scream - Michael and Janet Jackson

The music video was unique. Their connection with each other is unexplainable. They connect amazingly in this song, knowing how the other feels, and seeing them dancing together was just wow.

Michael Jackson is winning every top ten.

One of the best songs of all time.

  2. O Bhavre (Daud) - Yesudas and Asha Bhosle

Yesudas, the best singer in the world.

Yeah, true. God singing in his voice.

Yesudas is the greatest human being.

  3. Say Something - Jackie Evancho and Cheyenne Jackson

The reason so few people have heard this duet is that it was only on the DVD of Jackie's 'Awakening' concert and never released as a single or put on a CD album. There is a YouTube video of it on Jackie's Vevo channel that currently has 1.1 million views.

She knows how to harmonize and not overpower, which is something few can do well, and I love this more than the original version.

Also on the concert DVD. Simple and simply marvelous, with just a piano accompaniment. It should be made a single for download on iTunes and Amazon.com.

  4. Summer Wine - Ville Valo and Natalia Avelon

So beautiful, so amazing! One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Ville's talent goes beyond most male singers!

It's the most beautiful duet I've ever heard. I love the way Ville Valo and Natalia Avelon sound together.

What a classy song. Ville's enchanting voice gave Frank Sinatra a huge blow for his original version.

  5. Forever - Regine Velasquez and Martin Nievera

Awesome voices and personalities. The best.

It was perfect for both of you! I wish to have a solo with The Concert King Martin Nievera and Asia's Songbird Ms. Regine V. Alcasid. Thanks!

  6. A Thousand Years - Jackie Evancho and Fernando Varela

Recorded as part of Fernando's live PBS Special, this duet features soaring harmonies that give the listener goosebumps. Also available on Jackie's new album, "Two Hearts."

  7. Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Elton John and Kiki Dee

  8. Love the Way You Lie - Rihanna and Eminem

How can this not be inside the top 5? It at least deserves a top ten position. I hope some of the songs currently in the top ten will fall and this will get a place pretty soon.

This song is amazing, and their voices go perfectly with each other! You can really tell how much effort each of them put into this song!

  9. Somebody That I Used to Know - Gotye and Kimbra

The way that Gotye's soft voice in the verse mixes with Kimbra's stronger voice, they portray both sides of the story the music wants to tell. It's quite beautiful.

Definitely an amazing collaboration of love coming to an end.

This one is the best, especially for girl-girl or girl-boy duets.

  10. Under Pressure - Queen and David Bowie

Some duets are sung with a pair that makes the song work. Many times the wrong people cover a song and it loses something. The combination of certain voices doesn't do the song justice.

This should be at least in the top 10. Anyway, this list is appalling.

I can't believe I had to add this.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

Coma - Taylor Acorn and Cassadee Pope

  13. ?

I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) - Meat Loaf and Lorraine Crosby

  14. The Contenders
  15. Kalyana - K.S. Chithra and K.J. Yesudas

Chithra simply has the most beautiful singing voice in the world.

Yesudas, the golden voice of music.

  16. Hallelujah - Peter Hollens and Jackie Evancho

Gorgeous rendition of Leonard Cohen's song. Peter sings multiple a cappella parts. Jackie simply has the most beautiful singing voice in the world.

Just wow. Peter is fantastic, and little Jackie Evancho is only 14 years old? Really?

A new milestone in duet singing.

  17. Stan - Eminem and Dido

  18. Say Say Say - Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney

I was hoping this would be the number one duet.

  19. When You Wish Upon a Star - Tony Bennett and Jackie Evancho

  20. Endless Love - Diana Ross and Lionel Richie

  21. I See the Light - Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi

  22. I've Had the Time of My Life - Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes

  23. Barcelona - Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé

  24. Proud Mary - Ike and Tina Turner

  25. Magkasuyo Buong Gabi - Janno Gibbs and Regine Velasquez

Probably the most popular duet the Philippines has ever produced!

  26. Time to Say Goodbye - Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman

  27. Mein Duniya Bhulaa - Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal

The melody king and melody queen, both of them are the most prominent singers in India.

  28. Ab Charaghon Ka Koi (Baawri) - Yesudas and Lata Mangeshkar

Awesome rendering, lyrics, and music. Legendary song.

  29. When You Believe - Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey

I wonder why this duet is at 48. Maybe it's because on Vevo, they wrote it as When You Believe, Whitney Houston, and there is no Mariah Carey mentioned there. This duet is absolutely amazing. Two legendary singers collided together. What could get any better? This is a must-listen duet because they harmonized perfectly, and their voices matched each other. Whitney's voice is a little low but matches with Mariah's high voice. You must listen to this awesome duet.
