Top 10 Best Kid Rock Songs
Kid Rock has never been easy to file under one neat little label, which is probably why you're here trying to sort through the chaos. Born Robert James Ritchie in Michigan, he came up through the Detroit music scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s, mixing rap, rock, country, blues, and whatever else sounded good after somebody kicked over the jukebox. His early work leaned hard into hip-hop and party-rock attitude, but as his career grew, you could hear more Southern rock, outlaw country, and classic rock creeping into the mix.
As you move through Kid Rock's catalog, you get a wild ride through barroom anthems, swagger-heavy rap-rock, gritty ballads, and big sing-along tracks built for bonfires, road trips, and questionable decisions made near a cooler. His music has changed across decades, but the through-line is pretty clear: loud guitars, rough edges, hometown pride, and a refusal to clean things up just because polite company wandered into the room.

All Summer Long
By far the broadest audience appeal. Can't get it out of your head. Love the lyrics and the music both.
It's 'Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London!' Which is a good song, but...
Love this song! It brings back my summer days and nights!
-
Bawitdaba
So much better than "All Summer Long."
Love this song! It gets me pumped all the time, and what's better, it came in The Shield.
-
Only God Knows Why
This song has made my life complete. This song has become my life. I probably listen to it 20 times a day. I'll keep moving on, and only God knows why.
I don't see how this is number 5. This is an amazing song. You can tell he really put his heart into it.
He has so many... KR is without a doubt one of the best and most talented artists to allow us to listen to his amazing work! Thanks for letting me in.

Definitely my favorite Kid Rock song of all time. He and Sheryl Crow make magic with their voices. It's like a mix of Cher and Jesus.
His voice goes so well with Sheryl Crow to create an awesome love song. It is definitely my favorite duet of all time.
I cried when I heard this song. It's truly a great song. Everyone should hear it at least once.

American Bad Ass
I saw him in concert in Seattle with Dre, Snoop, Eminem, among others. He opened with this song, and I'll never forget it! The crowd went crazy! It was so awesome! So, this one will always be my favorite, although it's hard to choose. Love them all!
Oh my goodness, I love this song! I like all these other songs and agree that All Summer Long deserves to be at the top, but this song is just so rock! I love it! I sing it all the time! It makes me so happy. It is a great song to just scream your heart out to!
It's funny that the only good song by Kid Rock is just borrowed from Metallica's "Sad But True." Just listen.

Cowboy
Kid Rock's Limp Bizkit-meets-Lynyrd Skynyrd rap-rock sound is unprecedented and brilliant. He gives nu-metal a rural and gritty edge no one but him ever thought would work. Not only that, it made him go platinum seven times. An unforgettable phenomenon.
But "Cowboy" epitomizes this best. Unfortunately, "Devil Without a Cause" was pretty much the end of an era. Although he's rarely echoed it, his old country nu-metal sound has been abandoned for traditional country rock and balladry.

Lonely Road of Faith
This is the best song ever from Kid Rock that will ever be made.
-
Born Free
This isn't my favorite Kid Rock song ever, but it is one of my favorites, and it is my favorite on this list. But I think the whole Born Free album is the best from beginning to end. And I like All Summer Long, Born Free is better.
A beautiful song by a great artist. I think this song is one of the best songs Rock had ever played. The rhythm is unbelievable. The song's clip is amazing.
Kid Rock is fantastic. All his songs tell about life in a truthful way.

Cocky
One of his best songs off that album, and Never Met a Like Me were the only good hits on that album. I was a bit disappointed because Devil Without a Cause was such a big hit album. You would have thought Cocky would have been just as good?
This song is head-banging awesome! How is this only #11? It should be #1!
-
Amen
The song Amen can stand on its own. It has helped me out of the dark and shown me a better side of life. Amen!
The lyrics of this song are so true about the world today: wolves in sheep-clothed pastures. Amen!

Don't know the song, but the title is awesome.
-
Mr. Rock 'N Roll
Takes us on a great journey through a classic rock time capsule. Greatest vocals Kid's ever laid on a track, with Bon Scott-esque vocals over Skynyrd piano boogie and CCR swamp funk.

Amazing! I have no idea what he is trying to say (I'm not stoned), but it's still one hell of a song.

Sugar
It's an odd one out on "Rock and Roll Jesus" that echoes the country nu-metal sound of "Devil Without a Cause." It's one of my favorites, but the rest of the album is just uninnovative country rock and balladry.
