Throughout history, some bands (Led Zeppelin, U2, ZZ Top, Rush) have never really changed lineups, if at all. Other bands have undergone numerous member changes.

Sometimes, only one member remains throughout the band's entire existence, either holding the rights to the band's name or serving as its creative leader.
