Top 10 Reasons Why Deicide is Better than Skillet
Many fans think Deicide is much better than Skillet, and this list explains why they prefer Deicide.
-
Deicide has better lyrics
All Skillet does in their lyrics is write teenage edgy anthems and yet, at the same time, preach the word of God. Deicide don't do that. They preach the word of Satan and are always aggressive, not making generic and terrible ballad songs.
-
Deicide has better instrumentation
Deicide are much more talented musicians because they play death metal, whereas Skillet just play generic 2000s alt-rock.
-
Skillet is generic
100% true as well. Deicide's music doesn't sound like any other death metal band, and before an ignorant moron says yes they do, no other death metal band sounds as evil as Deicide does. Skillet literally sounds like every single 2000s alt-rock band. I can't distinguish their sound from Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, or any other one of those crappy generic bands.
-
Glen Benton is a better vocalist than John Cooper and Jen Ledger
Glen Benton is aggressive and perfectly captures what he was going for, a great evil, brutish growl, whereas John Cooper just sounds like every other 2000s alt-rock singer, and Ledger also sounds generic.
-
Skillet never made a good album
Whereas nearly every album Deicide made is good.
-
Skillet sold out
Whereas Deicide never did. They stayed true to their own sound and didn't try to combine their generic 2000s alt-rock sound with electropop.
-
Deicide is heavier
Their music was so heavy it was actually used as torture, which makes them more brutal than any wussy "angry" anthem Skillet ever did.
-
Skillet is a phase band
Very true. When I was about 12, I only listened to Skillet, and I thought it was the best thing ever. About a year later, I wasn't listening to their music anymore. Instead, I started listening to a bunch of metal bands.
You will grow out of Skillet's music, trust me. Their music is very teenage and very crappy, and once you've become a mature adult, you will realize this. Deicide, on the other hand, are not.
-
Skillet is one of the worst Christian rock bands
If you're going to listen to Christian rock, at least listen to Stryper, a band that is actually good and actually a metal band. For some reason, Skillet fans think Skillet is actually metal, when in reality their music is about as metal as Nickelback, who are a far superior band to Skillet.
Plus, Deicide is considered to be one of the best death metal bands, and for good reason.
If you want to listen to Christian rock, listen to Tourniquet.
-
Deicide is better at being edgy
How can you be edgy and yet stay a Christian rock band? Skillet is fake edgy crap that normies listen to when they want something "edgy."
Deicide is what real edgelords listen to.
