She was forced to use autotune in the past, but she has proven long ago that she can sing beautifully without it. She doesn't even sound bad with autotune. It actually suits her music and her voice.
She is truly an amazing singer. If you've listened to her performance at the Sound of Music celebration, this is an unquestionable fact.

She is actually a very talented singer, but her songs use autotune. I personally like her voice better without it though. I think she's underrated compared to other artists like Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift, who don't have as talented of a voice as her.
Underrated and overhated by critics and fans. She can sing really well live (her solo X-factor audition got four yeses). Even if she tries a bit too hard with the emotion and high notes, she's still a good singer.
The only song she used autotune on was Havana. And that was for effect! Watch her Fallon performance.
