Best Songs from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's Polygondwanaland
Polygondwanaland is the twelfth studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. The album was released under an open source licence. The band did not sell copies of the album, but uploaded the master tapes online for anyone to use.
It was released on 17 November 2017. It was the fourth of five albums released by the band in 2017, and focused on the idea of poly-rhythms.

Crumbling Castle
Quite possibly the single greatest song that the band has released so far. It goes to absolutely soaring heights in multiple massive buildups and climaxes. Every moment of this nearly 11-minute epic is absolutely amazing, all ending with an extremely dense, fuzzy conclusion to further solidify this as one of King Gizz's best songs.

Loyalty
The bassline is absolutely amazing in this song, and the bouncy yet complex rhythm that the song has causes this to be an awesome song, with a great vocal delivery that once again sounds like some sort of chant. The outro is also very good.
-
The Castle In the Air
I like the use of spoken word at the start. It was definitely a surprise when I first listened to this album. The rhythmic patterns in this song are extremely complex in general, and the instrumentation is excellent all around.
-
Horology
Once again, the bass stands out in this song, but the use of flutes is really what gives this song such quality, as it brings some degree of beauty to a song that for the most part sounds quite dark.
-
The Fourth Colour
I love how this song picks up in terms of energy, with some exceptional melody that, while having some sort of dark edge to it, is quite happy sounding. I love the way everything begins to fall apart at around three and a half minutes, and then leads out with an extremely atmospheric outro, before coming back in with one final display of the skilled drumming.
-
Deserted Dunes Welcome Weary Feet
I like how it all comes back to the title track in terms of melody, but it is now more energetic, with an even better rendition of the chorus due to the slight difference in delivery.
-
Polygondwanaland
I love just how laid-back this song is, with just some really nice guitar and bass work, combined with some nice use of the flute. A very nice song which works perfectly after such an intense song as Crumbling Castle.
-
Tetrachromacy
I like the chorus quite a bit, and the song in general has a really good, subtle buildup that all in all makes the song more interesting to listen to.

Searching...
The world music influence is cool, and I find the song to be fairly atmospheric and interesting.
-
Inner Cell
While I find the song to be competent in general, I do feel like it doesn't come together quite right. While it may be enjoyable, it just doesn't quite get up to the same heights as the other songs on the album.
