Top 10 Best Mosh Pit Songs
Thank God someone else knows what I'm talking about! I have been to tons of heavy metal shows, most being general admission venues jam-packed with people. I love general admission shows because I can get right up front and let myself go. If you have ever been in a pit, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Laugh out loud.
So, with that being said, I can honestly say that hands down, Slayer gets the win on this one. Laugh out loud. I saw them when they went on tour with "Children of Bodom." Someone must have been watching out for me that night, because wow! I'm not even lying! I can't believe I made it out of there alive. People were getting taken to the hospital on stretchers by paramedics!
If Slayer ever comes to town and you're into loud, raging metal and sweaty, bone-crushing mosh pits, spend the bucks to see them! You will be blown away.
Amazing lyrics that you can understand while thrashing to the amazing guitar riffs. Hell, it won a Grammy.
Definitely a worthy Top 10, if not Top 3. If I recall correctly, it was Anthrax who came up with the term "mosh" back in the good old days. Apart from this, there are some songs listed here that, in my opinion, are nice to hear but are not mosh pit songs. And a couple of other bands are missing, such as Destruction, Kreator, Flotsam and Jetsam…
This has to be on the list. This is a classic song meant for the pit. I saw it for myself about a year ago.
Um. Isn't this essentially a mosher's handbook? And by the way, 50% of the top 10 are quite abysmal.
It's simple! It's Slipknot! Stay sic, maggots!
I love when Mike starts "I watch how the moon..." and Chester starts screaming!
I saw these guys back in 2014, and their pits were insane. I didn't expect so much moshing from a melo-death band, but they really worked up a crowd. They played this near the end of their set. Such a brutal pit.
The Black Dahlia Murder is the best band to mosh to, period. Almost voted for Raining Blood because I've been to a few Slayer concerts and they are intense, but TBDM has better pits.
For those that have never seen them play this live... I play this song on guitar, and it never fails to make me jump around my room jamming out to the first few seconds of the song!
You don't get bruises... YOU GET WAR SCARS!
Classic headbang mosh thrash metal song. One of the signatures along with other Metallica songs like Whiplash and Battery.
Really intense and the tempo changes a lot during the song. Also, every time I've heard them play it, the crowd goes nuts. Everyone in the pit knows all the words, so there's a lot of screaming the lyrics and getting insane.
This is honestly pretty amazing. Nothing can compare.
The riff with the drums is just the best beat ever, and when they extend it, especially live, it's just the best! I've been there personally!
I've been to at least a thousand concerts, and Lamb of God was my most brutal pit experience.
This is the song that pretty much made the wall of death popular, and it's this low?
This song is the best mosh song ever. No other can even come close. Just watch this song played live.
If you've ever been involved in the "War Dance," you will know what I am talking about.
This song has good melody and faster guitars. I've personally been in a mosh during this song and it was insane! This song live is the best for moshing.
In this song, there's a time after the chorus that lets the mosh crew open a circle pit or, in any case, just have a safety headbang.
I've personally been in a mosh during this song, and it was insane!
Should be in the top 10 at least. There isn't a day where I can't hit something listening to this song.
Cowboys from Hell was not the hardest mosh pit they had when I saw Pantera in 1996, but it was pretty close to their other songs. Pantera has the hardest pits ever.
I saw White Zombie and Pantera at the Boathouse in VA Beach in the early '90s. Best mosh pit I have ever been in. The light rails got ripped off the ceiling of the building, it was insane!
It's quite well known that Pantera concerts had the biggest and most insane mosh pits when Dimebag was still alive.
