The Top Ten Saddest Deaths in Marvel Movies

1 Wolverine (Logan) Wolverine is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly associated with the X-Men. His powers and abilities include a healing factor and his signature adamantium claws and adamantium skeleton.

I'd go as far as to say this is the saddest death in movie history. I remember after seeing Logan's death in the theater, I walked back to my truck, and started full on sobbing, and I'm a grown man. I had seen one of my childhood icons die a hero's death, and it served as a reminder that I was growing up.

This, in my opinion, is the saddest superhero death I've ever seen. Unlike most superhero movies, our hero stays dead. No sign of him coming back. Logan is the most beautiful movie that I've ever seen, had a BEAUTIFUL ending to the X-Men, Logan, Charles Xavier, everyone.
"There are no more guns in the valley"

This death was especially sad since he was trying to protect the new generation of mutants, and we have all loved seeing him on screen

I cried when I saw he died in Logan

2 Yondu (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2) Yondu Udonta, or simply Yondu, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Yondu's death was super sad. he may have not been the perfect father but he truly loved Peter. he sacrificed himself to save Peter's life. He was a better father than Ego ever was because at least he didn't try to destroy everything

He died to save the the only person he had as family even when quill betrayed him...

This death was sad because yondu sacrificed his life to give his adopted son peter quill more time to live. He seemed bad but deep down all he wanted was to protect quill

Definitely the saddest moment.

3 Tony Stark (Avengers: Endgame)

He should be number 1, he isn't my favorite Marvel hero, but goddammit I would be lying if I said his death didn't shake me. Tears were coming down my face as I saw the hero I grew up with die, and I didn't do it for the others. Loki, I teared up, Spider Man, I was upset, but Tony's hit me harder than those two combined.

I cried when iron man died. After getting what he wanted a wife and daughter he died.

Marvel should regret ruining my childhood, when they start to care about more than money.

Never cried at a movie before, probably never will again. This hit home and hit it hard.

4 Professor x (Logan) Professor Charles Francis Xavier is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is the founder and leader of the X-Men.

The same as wolverine, he was a character long remembered throughout the films, and most of us knew his time had to come. But the way marvel did it was very sad

Leader of the X-Men I wish you could come back

5 Odin (Thor Ragnorak) Odin Borson is a fictional character appearing in the American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Father odin keep Asgard safe and save Thor

6 Gwen Stacy (The Amazing Spider-Man) Gwendolyne Maxine "Gwen" Stacy is a fictional character who appears in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually as a supporting character in those featuring Spider-Man.

I'm just imagining Spider-Gwen's reaction when seeing herself die.

7 Loki (Avengers: Infinity War) Loki Laufeyson, or Loki Odinson, is a fictional character appearing in the American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is the adoptive brother and archenemy of Thor, and is known as the "God of Mischief". In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character has been portrayed by Tom Hiddleston.

Loki is one of my favorite Marvel characters so when I saw him die I thought he was faking it again but this time he actually died. I cried

I was hysteric when he died. Can we at least have him in the top 6

LOKI HAS TO BE FIRST! (along with Quicksilver) Loki is amazing!

One of saddest because finally he did something good

8 Quicksilver (Age of Ultron) Quicksilver is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in the comic book X-Men #4 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

I'm not much a new gen person but when I saw this dead was to sad for me.

Love quicksilver bring him back

9 Spider-Man (Avengers: Infinity War)

Spiderman my favorite character why didn’t
he survive the snap

This is done perfectly with not only does he not want to die, but it reflects the melancholy of the move, knowing Thanos will win.

Funny, cause he didn't actually die. All due respect to those who did lol.

This was the saddest death ever. I am slowly typing this because I have never seen spider-mans death but he is the best character I have ever seen I felt incredibly sad when I saw him on the list I was like:sbider-man dies!?

10 Harry Osborn (Spider-Man 3) James Edward Franco is an American actor and filmmaker. His first prominent acting role was the lead character Daniel Desario on the short-lived cult hit television program Freaks and Geeks.

Should be number 1..

The Contenders

11 Cyclops (X Men the Last Stand) Cyclops is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is a founding member of the X-Men.
12 Agent Coulson (Avengers)

Yes he came back to life, but technically he did die.I love that he shot Loki though,LOL

He didn’t even die!

13 Gamora (Avengers: Infinity War)

This should be higher on the list. It was a really heartbreaking death and the characters reactions were done so well. Thanos had to kill someone he loved for the stone, and while I hate him, I sympathized at that moment.

I cried for about an hour. Gamora is one of my favorite chararacters! The fact the Thanos loves her 😭 she looked so still when she died to. Ugh I shall never forgive Thanos for killing so many people. Although you gotta admit Star Lord was HILARIOUS 🤣!

14 Bucky Barnes (Avengers: Infinity War) James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Steve lost him for the fourth time and that just makes it sadder

15 Black Widow (Avengers: Endgame)

We never really knew her and she sacrificed herself for the greater good... The last words she said: "It's okay" was so heartbreaking.

SHE DESERVES TO BE NO. 1. Her character development and ScarJo's acting makes her a wonderful character. Remember, she only relies on her wit and her badass skills to fight, and she's super smart too. She did not deserve to die like this.

Okay. She deserves number one. Tony was REALLY SAD, but for me, she was and is my favorite superhero in history! She was the worst death than anyone. She didn't have a family, until she got to be part of the avengers. Clint and his family were her family too, and it is so cute how his kids loved her so much as to call her aunt ❤ When she died, I felt my heart crumble into a billion pieces. She didn't deserve it, and neither did Clint. She was like a sister to him. She was an epic bad***! When I realized they were going to vjormir, I felt like shouting at the screen. She deserves number one. As sad as Tony's death was, she was worse.

This killed my heart. The acting of Hawkeye ( Jeremy Renner) brought this to life. He fact that the two had only re united for a short while really made this sad. They argued over who would die, if that’s not that sad, then what is?

16 Groot (Avengers: Infinity War)

Even sadder than when he died the first time

17 Doctor Strange (Avengers: Infinity War)
18 Iron Man (Avengers: Endgame) Iron Man is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, as well as its associated media. 22 Meredith Quill (Guardians of the Galaxy)

Should be in the top 10.

23 Frigga (Thor: The Dark World)
24 Anthony (Ant-Man)

This weirdly made me tear up, not the saddest, but still pretty emotional.

I have studied ants after Ant Man and the Wasp ( 2018 ) then I watched Ant Man ( 2015 ) Anthony’s death made my hate for Dinsny expand.

"I stepped on an ant after watching this movie and I started to break down crying,So yeah."

25 Scarlet Witch (Avengers: Infinity War)

She so deserves to be the first. She lost her country, her family, her brother, and then in Infinity War she lost Vision, whom she had to kill herself. Still not sad enough?

Loki death is good/sad too but Scarlet Witch left the most lasting impact be of all of the deaths she is the most powerful character to ever die, number two Ultron three Vision

26 Uncle Ben (Spider-Man)
27 Erik Killmonger (Black Panther)

Forgot he existed.

28 Vanessa (Deadpool 2)

By far the most heartbreaking death

He didn't die
