Top 10 Sports in the Philippines
I am very sure that basketball is the best sport in the Philippines. Nobody in the Philippines doesn't know this sport. All of the kids, adults, and senior citizens love it too!
Basketball should be the greatest sport of all time. Oh! Even football players here play basketball too! Indeed, it is the greatest sport in the Philippines.
Basketball is my sport because it gives me joy, and it is "not too safe," but it is safer than soccer, American football, or boxing for kids like me.
It rocks! We have enough knowledge about this sport, so everyone can relate to it.
I was born and raised in the USA, but I am a pure Filipino. I excelled in basketball through athleticism, hard work, and passion, but then you realize that height is way too important. Our DNA is not built for success in basketball! We know this already, but there are too many dreamers. The ceiling is too short. It is genetically rigged for European ancestry, Blacks, and tall Asian countries like China. It's a tough pill to swallow, but it will always be true. There are tall Filipinos, obviously, but this is not the norm, and only time will tell.
In football/soccer, size doesn't matter nearly as much. It really is much, much more than physical attributes. Passion, understanding, and skill clearly outweigh physicality. We know this because of successful players in the world like Lionel Messi. It is the beautiful game. I would love to see Filipinos grow in the sport, domestically and internationally!
Fun! The Philippines doesn't have enough open spaces for football/soccer. They need to start playing indoors like badminton, volleyball, or basketball. They can even play futsal!
I love to play badminton with my brother. It helps me concentrate more after playing it.
Badminton is my daughter's favorite sport. It is good for moving your body.
Exciting sport using feet, very unique and fun to watch!
Boxing should be number one, especially since they put out a ton of big stars. Every kid dreams of being the next Manny Pacquiao. They're very good at boxing.
Plus, boxing is the best sport on this list. By far.
It is an exciting sport and entertainment! To the Filipino fans, few Filipinos may have played it since it is a dangerous sport, but it has produced strong Filipino international champions. These include Pancho Villa, Flash Elorde, Gerry PeƱalosa, Manny Pacquiao, Nonito Donaire, and others.
I love the way they punch, right!
We became a powerhouse team in the last decades, and this sport was famous before basketball came along.
We must try this awesome sport. Baseball is very fun. We should also try other sports.
I never knew volleyball was fun until I actually played it. Let's just say that I got hooked on volleyball after playing it once.
Fast-paced. Thrilling. The Ateneo Lady Eagles made this sport explode in the casual sports enthusiasts' consciousness.
It's one of the top sports in the Philippines. Every Ateneo vs. La Salle match fills up the venue. Why number seven? It should be number two.
If someone is fighting you, you can defend yourself. You will not get bullied or hurt.
My sport is taekwondo. We learn discipline and self-defense!
Cricket is the best game ever, so if you think it's bad, get out of here!
There are probably more bikers than badminton players.
