Top Ten Animals that are Much More Important Than We Give Them Credit For
We humans think that we have everything figured out. We know everything, right? Unfortunately, in many cases, that is not true. And when it comes to animals, you normally just know a few things about them, nothing more. Sloths are adorable but useless, slow and lazy, that’s all you need to know. Blobfishes are extremely ugly, weird, and also useless, right? Parrots are basically voice recorders that squawk what we say to them, right? Wrong in all three cases. These animals, and much more, are actually much more interesting than we give them credit for.Sloths are my favourite animal and the only one worthy of my username not just because they are exotic, elegant, and adorable, but because they are the most misunderstood. I don’t want to have to explain why they are slow for a good reason again, so just search it up and read all the info you get. I guarantee you will be surprised, unless you are already well informed about these animals. Also, in their fur is an intricate ecosystem of algae and beetles and god knows what else. So many other species and plant life are actually fully dependent on them.
Sloths maybe seen as lazy and slow, but they are actually very cool animals. They are strong, friendly and chilled out creatures. Definitely overlooked.
I find them creepy, but they are okay.
They are awesome and cute
Elephants are known as some of the most intelligent animals of all time along with dolphins. However, unlike dolphins, they live on land. Elephants also have excellent hearing due to their massive floppy ears.
While they do have the heaviest brain in the world, the size of that compared to their body mass isn’t a lot, so most people think they aren’t super intelligent and move on. In reality, studies have shown that they actually use a much higher percentage of their brain compared to humans, so they must be thinking quite a bit, and much more than the dumb, forgetful animals we took them for.
People think of these as ugly, strange, useless animals that don’t move much and just, well, exist, nothing more. In reality, they can actually move quite quickly and do have intelligence.
Proof of their intelligence, please.
We usually think of these as voice recorders who just squawk what they hear endlessly, but that isn’t actually the case. Parrots are capable of logical leaps and can solve problems and have the vocabulary of the average 4-6 year old, studies show. Much more intelligent than we give them credit for!
Parrots are really pretty birds that have a very interesting way of speaking to others such as repeating what you say.
I didn't know they understood what they were saying!
We all think that they, and other birds which fly south for the winter, just feel an overpowering urge to fly south and to get warm, and the whole time they don’t have any particular direction but south. But, recent studies show that they use big landmarks that humans know well as guides on their long journey. As a result, they usually almost go on exactly the same route every year.
Yes, even dogs are on this list. “Man’s best friend” may be the most beloved, adored, and respected animal in the world. We give them places in our home, pamper them and give them food, water, and exercise. We practically treat them like our children! But these lovable animals, in reality are more important than we give them credit for. As nicely as we treat them, most of us agree that they are definitely animals, pets. They don’t have a place in our government (not that they should) and we don’t educate them. They can understand simple commands, nothing more. Actually, no. Studies show that they actually understand many concepts that we thought only humans understood. Humanity, for one.
Dogs are known as "Man's Best Friend" after all. They are loyal, intelligent and beautiful animals to keep as pets.
Most people just laugh and feel bad for dung beetles. Most people think they just randomly go around touching animal waste. They actually have a huge part to play in their environment, and there would be lots of problems in the world if they weren’t here.
Without Bats, there would be no Batman
The stoat is largely capable of taking prey much larger than itself. Despite its cutesy appearance as shown by the image, stoats take this as an advantage by captivating or confusing their prey (via dancing) before proceeding to kill their prey; this clever tactic is also observed in other species of weasels. (And now you know, that the pokemon move "attract" even exists in real life).
They are so awesome and cute
When you hear this, you think of a normal rabbit. Search this up, and see pictures of it. I guarantee that first you will be surprised, but then dismiss this animals as crazy, maybe cool and cute but definitely not speedy or powerful. These rabbits can run very fast, in reality, and have a few other neat capabilities.
Everyone detests them, myself included. But they also have an enormous part to play in the world. They save environments and ecosystems from extinction, provide the only food to many creatures, and are at the bottom of the food chain, which makes them one of the most important.
