Best Capcom Characters

The Top Ten
Dante (Devil May Cry) Dante is a fictional character and the main protagonist of Capcom's Devil May Cry series. He is a demon hunter with supernatural powers who uses a combination of firearms and a sword in combat. Dante first appeared in the original Devil May Cry game released in 2001 and has since appeared in numerous... read more

Dante has Yamato, Quicksilver, Pandora, and Rebellion up his sleeve. He's obviously everyone's favorite. I guarantee he could destroy every other Capcom character.

A cyborg in blue armor that shoots lasers? He'd Quicksilver, Yamato that guy, and move on.

A hobo martial artist? He'd pump him full of lead before Thursday could blink.

I don't even think I have to explain how he'd curbstomp Leon.

Phoenix Wright is literally just a lawyer.

Strider would stand a chance, but he'd be killed too, after a long, hard fight.

Seriously though.

Ryu (Street Fighter) Ryu is a fictional video game character created by Capcom and is the main protagonist of the Street Fighter series. He is a disciplined martial artist who travels the world seeking to improve his fighting skills. Ryu is famous for his signature moves such as the Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpū... read more

Hadouken! Best moves in Street Fighter.

Mega Man (Mega Man) Mega Man, known as Rockman in Japan, is the title character and protagonist of Capcom's Mega Man video game series. He first appeared in 1987 and is known for his special ability to copy the weapons of defeated Robot Masters. Over the years, Mega Man has become an iconic character in gaming history,... read more

Mega Man is one of my favorite video games and one of my favorite video game icons. He ranks alongside Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Link, Captain Falcon, and Fox McCloud. He's cool, and he knows how to fight the evil robots and the Robot Masters.

I also like Rush and Auto. Mega Man is a superhero-type robot, and it's really cool when he uses other weapons from the Robot Masters. Mega Man 3 is one of the best games in the series, and I still love it - it holds up well.

Mega Man is one of the best video game icons. I love his games. He's a superhero of video games, and I have an idea for new Mega Man games.

I call them Mega Man Origins and Mega Man Heroes.

Leon S. Kennedy (Resident Evil) Leon Scott Kennedy is a fictional character in the Resident Evil horror media franchise by Capcom. He debuted as one of the two playable protagonists of the video game Resident Evil 2. Leon is a government agent for the U.S. and one of the franchise's most recurring characters.

He's the best. No one in the Resident Evil series can kill him. His personality is very different from others, and he is very intelligent about the situations or outbreaks that happen.

Leon is a classic Resident Evil character, a boss with all weapons. He is cool with the uniform, weapons, hairstyle - everything. Imagine Resident Evil without Leon. It would not be the same.

As one of the main characters of the Resident Evil saga, he deserves more than 9th place.

Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney) Phoenix Wright, known as Ryūichi Naruhodō in the original Japanese-language versions, is a fictional defense attorney in Capcom's Ace Attorney video game series. He first appeared in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, released in 2001 in Japan. Known for his dramatic courtroom tactics and the catchphrase... read more

I like Phoenix Wright for these reasons:

1. Unlike all other defense attorneys, he only cares about finding the truth.
2. The game is funny and fun.
3. He is friends with a prosecutor, a really awesome one as well.
4. His game is well-written. A lot of the cases are connected in some way.

I think Ace Attorney, Street Fighter, Mega Man, and Devil May Cry are the best Capcom games in the world.

Phoenix Wright is here? He should be number one. Everyone keeps beating up bad guys and saving the world from some megalomaniac. BORING. Phoenix Wright is still a hero. No powers, no global threat, and he's still called heroic. It's all because of winning seemingly hopeless cases. Wright for the win.

Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers) Morrigan Aensland is a video game character from the Darkstalkers series of fighting games by Capcom. She was introduced in Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors in 1994. Morrigan is a succubus and one of the central characters of the franchise, and she has also appeared in several crossover games and other... read more
Chun-Li (Street Fighter) Chun-Li is a character in Capcom's Street Fighter series. She was the first female fighter in any fighting game franchise and made her debut in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior in 1991. Known for her powerful legs and fast kicks, Chun-Li is one of the most iconic characters in video game history... read more

Why 15th? Chun-Li, Cammy, and Sakura ought to be higher. They made it so much cooler to be a girl in the '90s. Also, spiked bracelets, yo.

Strider Hiryu (Strider) Strider Hiryu is a fictional character co-owned by Capcom and the Japanese manga studio Moto Kikaku. He first appeared in the arcade game Strider in 1989 and has since featured in several video games and crossover titles. Sit back now. Let me tell you a tale where evil and injustice do not prevail.

One day, there was a city ruled by a Grandmaster who commanded a robot army and a league of powerful subordinates, governing through fear. Eleven ninjas known as Striders barged into the city and caused a big commotion, but each one was killed. Finally, one last Strider waltzed in, cutting the army and subordinates down to size. He then walked into the Grandmaster's throne room, tore out his heart with his hand, ate it, and strolled out of the city, never to be seen by the citizens again. That Strider was Strider Hiryu, the ultimate embodiment of all that is awesome.

Jill Valentine (Resident Evil) Jill Valentine is a fictional character in the Resident Evil video game series developed by Capcom. She first appeared in the original Resident Evil released in 1996 as one of the two playable characters. She later returned as the protagonist in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

Jill is the coolest, the best female character in Resident Evil history, hands down.

Jill Valentine, for me, has cool moves and can glide thanks to the weird robo-insect in her chest.

Felicia (Darkstalkers)

The Newcomers

? Chuck Greene (Dead Rising)
? Shadow Man (Mega Man 3)
The Contenders
Albert Wesker (Resident Evil) Albert Wesker is one of the central characters in Capcom's Resident Evil series. He first appeared in the original Resident Evil game released in 1996. A former officer in the special forces unit S.T.A.R.S., Wesker is known for his betrayal and transformation into a recurring antagonist with superhuman... read more

One of my personal favorite villains in all of media. Iconic when it comes to the Resident Evil franchise.

Wesker is the best villain in Resident Evil, period. And probably the most badass.

Mike Haggar (Final Fight) Michael "Mike" Haggar is a fictional character who first appeared in the arcade game Final Fight, which was released in 1989. In the game's storyline, Haggar is a former professional wrestler who becomes the mayor of Metro City. He uses his wrestling skills to fight against the Mad Gear gang and restore... read more

A mayor, a wrestler, a badass - to name a few. Not many Capcom characters can claim such an impressive resume.

Chris Redfield (Resident Evil) Chris Redfield is a central character in Capcom's Resident Evil video game franchise. He made his debut in the original Resident Evil released in 1996. Over the years, he has appeared in numerous mainline entries and spin-offs, often portrayed as a key figure in the fight against bioterrorism.

Whoever said Leon sucks is stupid, but I like Chris. He is an action-packed character, which makes him fun.

Chris is the man. He's the main protagonist of Resident Evil.

Zero (Mega Man X)

Dude, he could kick almost any Capcom character's ass, especially Dante. I played the Devil May Cry games, and Dante has nothing on Zero. His Z-Saber, badass Z-Buster, shiny red armor, and awesome ponytail - yeah, Zero is the man. At least Zero didn't have to get his hair changed to black.

Cammy (Street Fighter) Cammy White, also known simply as Cammy and by the codename Killer Bee in Street Fighter Alpha 3, is a character in the Street Fighter fighting game series. She is the second female fighter to be introduced in the franchise, following Chun-Li. Since her debut in Super Street Fighter II in 1993, she... read more

Amaterasu (Ōkami) Amaterasu, also known as Ōkami Amaterasu, is the protagonist of Capcom's video game Ōkami, released in 2006. She takes the form of a white wolf and represents the Shinto sun goddess. In the game, Amaterasu uses celestial brush techniques to restore balance and beauty to the world, which has been overtaken... read more

Okami is strong enough to spin galaxies and create stars simply by wanting it. She can also revive herself from the dead multiple times over. She is one of the most powerful characters in gaming and could probably kick even Kratos' ass.

It's the time-stealing wolf from a forgotten masterpiece. She's at least better than those Street Fighter idiots.

She's a goddess, a wolf, and she has a giant paintbrush. She's powerful. The only thing else I would like is a sequel!

Vergil (Devil May Cry) Vergil is a fictional character in the Devil May Cry video game series created and published by Capcom. He is the twin brother of Dante, the series' main protagonist, and first appeared in Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, released in 2005. Vergil is known for his contrasting personality and combat... read more

That day, if our positions were switched... Would our fates be different? Would I have your life, and you mine?

Vergil is a beast. The Yamato, his iconic weapon, is also epic!

Akuma (Street Fighter) Akuma, known as Gouki in Japan, is a character from the Street Fighter video game series and a recurring antagonist. He first appeared as a hidden boss in Super Street Fighter II Turbo and could be unlocked by meeting specific conditions... read more

There are really powerful Capcom characters, but Akuma is hands down the most powerful. If he enters Oni mode, then it's completely one-sided no matter who he fights against.

Akuma is powerful on his own, and when he goes Oni mode, he is one of Capcom's best hopes of taking down major Marvel and DC characters.

His Nine Thousand Fists of Fury are untouchable.

Sir Arthur (Ghosts 'n Goblins)

A legacy character that had a rad refresh for the Sega Dreamcast's Cannon Spike. He is the stuff legends are made of.

Trish (Devil May Cry)
Ken (Street Fighter) Ken Masters, originally spelled in Japanese as 拳, is a fictional character in Capcom's Street Fighter series. He first appeared in the original Street Fighter game in 1987 alongside Ryu. Ken is known for his fiery personality and signature move, the Shoryuken.

Ken Masters. He can kick your ass and buy out your community, demolish it, and replace it with a mega hotel. And you can't do a damned thing about it.

Captain Commando (Captain Commando)
