Top 10 Most Annoying Things When Playing Video Games Online

The Top Ten
  1. Lag

The lag is obviously the most annoying thing in games, especially when playing Minecraft mods. Even when I'm using lots of performance mods, it still lags quite a bit. Whoever invented these things should be punished by the people!

This is so annoying. When I'm playing COD (Call of Duty), there is always a glitch, and I end up getting killed while running away with my teammates.

Most of these can be controlled by simply muting the other players. Lag, on the other hand, you can't do anything about, even with a strong Internet connection. How many times have you been doing great in a game online, then it lags you out? ANNOYING AS HELL!

  2. Kids playing rated M games

It's so frustrating how judgmental people are when it comes to kids playing M games. I am a kid who plays M games, but it's horrible to know that people my age will scream and cuss while their mics are on. It's laughable, but it also ruins the whole experience.

Also, people judge kids who play M games as screaming, cussing idiots. I hear about people trying to be nice but getting bombarded with insults. People also think we only play Call of Duty when I myself play games like Uncharted, Battlefield, and Borderlands. Call of Duty is nowhere near my most anticipated games list and never will be. So yeah, some of us are actually thoughtful and nice, not the short-tempered 10-year-old who only plays Call of Duty and screams every time he/she gets killed.

  3. Hackers

On a Minecraft server, whenever I play infection, there are SO MANY hackers that fly and glide. Sometimes they even fly to other maps so no one can get them. They also say that hacking is allowed! It makes me so mad!

Especially when they claim to be legit. In Geometry Dash, a player named Cyclic was known as the king of the game until his hacking confession. So stupid!

Yeah, I did pretty well! I bet my own personal record in Mario Kart Wii! Hm... Who did better than me? This guy... He did 0.1 seconds better...

  4. Campers

In all honesty, it depends on what game you are playing. If you're playing a tactical shooter like Arma or Counter-Strike, then it's okay. But in games like Call of Duty, it can get annoying when a fast-paced arcade shooter turns into a "who can kill this guy so we can continue" game.

I agree. The people who camp need to be kicked off the game if they stay in one spot the entire game. No matter what you do, they won't die, especially in Call of Duty.

In Fortnite, they added a bush disguise. It is so easy to go up to a player without them noticing, and it must be the most annoying thing ever. - Unnamed Google User Remade

  5. Little kids that can't handle dying

I have been sniped by snipers, blown up by tanks, shot in the back, and had airplanes land on me. I can handle it. It's a war or fighting game! You can't have a single game without being killed once! Those who survive a full game are maybe just super-skilled players and are not hackers.

I was playing Factions MP on The Last of Us. When this one kid was downed, he started screaming on the mic for help. Near the end of the match, he was downed, so I went to help him. Then this guy with a Molotov threw it at both of us (we died, obviously). The kid got mad, saying that I'm stupid.

  6. Playing music through the mic

Not only in gaming but in real life too. At school, I always pass by kids playing their rap music on their speakers. On the road, people drive by with the bass all the way up, so high I can feel my organs vibrating, playing their rap music really loudly. Can't we all accept that not everyone wants to hear your music? I swear if this keeps up, I'm walking through school playing Dream Theater to prove a point.

So annoying! I had a Minecraft party, and my friend and his girl came. He put on some 70's music for his girl. When I told him to turn it off, his girlfriend told me to leave the room and the server. When I said no, she told me to just go outside for a minute or two.

  7. Quitters

For example, in Grand Theft Auto 5, your team is winning, and the other team is losing. Then people on the rival team start to quit for no reason. As the game goes on, more people quit. You realize your team is about to win, then suddenly the last person on the rival team quits, and it's game over. Pretty annoying, right?

I understand there are more important things in life than video games that you could quit a game for. But what annoys me is when people quit because their team is losing. That's what a 3-year-old would do. Don't cry about it and quit. Just at least wait till the end of the game and support your team.

  8. Excessive swearing

I once played a x10 server on TF2, and some guy on the other team said more curse words than I even knew existed. I hope I get a brain implant that censors all curse words when I'm older.

It can be appropriate (and funny) to curse every once in a while, but players who do it every time they lose become obnoxious.

I may be profane, but at least I try to control my profanity. People who swear so many times in a short span of time, on the other hand...

  9. People accusing you of hacking just because you won

It's also annoying if you are really good at the game and people still call you a hacker. There is a game on Roblox called Boys vs. Girls Island Wars. In that game, I have over 5000 kills, and I got 3000 of my kills without VIP. When I was wrecking a noob, she told me to take off my VIP because she thought I was a hacker. So I did, and I still destroyed her. She kept calling me a hacker until she left the game.

Luckily, in Fortnite, this won't happen because I don't win! But one time, I accidentally shot my sniper rifle and killed someone from 250m. I bet they thought I was a hacker. Also, one time in Team Rumble, the game randomly said I got 4 kills that I didn't get.

  10. People who abuses glitches

Like in a bunch of games, people abuse the 'duplication glitch.' So frustrating. Earn it yourself.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Tryhards

There are the noob gamers, the casual gamers, the pro gamers, and then… THIS. These dumb jerks treat any multiplayer game like a Call of Duty competition for 80 million dollars, no matter what game it is. They ruin the experience for everyone, and whenever they win, they say "gg."

No, I did not have a good game because you kept ruining it for everyone else. I'm just imagining what's behind a tryhard's camera - probably them sweating like crazy while playing a non-competitive match for fun.

  13. ?

    Microtransactions

YES! These are annoying as hell. This is why online games made 5-10 years ago are better than those of today.

  14. The Contenders
  15. Glitchers

I don't see the problem with kids playing rated M games. It's up to the parents. I played God of War when I was 14, so what's the big deal?

Playing music over the mic is easily solved: MUTE THEM! That's all you have to do instead of moaning and complaining about it. Just mute them.

Glitchers, however, ruin the game. I enjoy TF2, but when you get one person who won't die or places sentries in off-map areas where they cannot be destroyed, it's just annoying. PLAY THE GAME HOW IT SHOULD BE PLAYED! Cheating ruins the experience, and people who do it are just sad.

When people use glitches, I don't care. But when people use glitches to never die or cheat online with others, it's annoying and cheap. If you can't play the game normally and you have to cheat to win, then leave.

  16. Losing your connection

This keeps happening to me in Smash and Mario Kart 7.

  17. Trash talkers

I was playing an MM match in CSGO before I quit the game completely (bad community, ranking system, and not as competitive as Source, in case you were wondering). This one guy kept calling our team bad. I was on a premade team, so I knew who the bad ones were. He kept telling us to wait until he got to the top of the leaderboards. At 12-15, he only had 3 kills, and the worst player on our team was not only dominating him but getting a decent K/D ratio. In case you were wondering, I was second best.

People like this piss me off. Since Silver is basically ELO hell for most players who deserve Silver Elite Master or maybe Gold Nova One, I quit CSGO entirely and went on to CSS. Hardly any rude players, great community, and more competitive.

  18. Screeching kids

If you go onto Black Ops 2 and play the following game modes: Search and Destroy, Gun Game, Sticks and Stones, Dominion, and Multiteam, you will know exactly what I mean.

    Screeching kids of any nationality.

  19. Parents telling you to pause the game and do your chores

I relate to this since I was in the middle of an online mission one time. They told me to pause, but I couldn't. The game would still go, so I had to kill all the enemies that could still harm me until I could relax and help my parents. By the way, the game was an RPG.

Some games keep going even if you're paused.

Nothing is good about this one.

  20. People who steal your kills

My brother and his best friend are forced to play squads in Fortnite with my obnoxious neighbor. He just steals their kills and takes their good loot when they find it first or kill the people with it. Once, he was camping while my brother and his friend had to clutch against a squad with the Meowscles Peow Peow Rifle, Midas Drum Gun, Brutus Minigun, purple heavy sniper, and a gold pump. My neighbor was a huge coward and hid away from the battle. Then he swooped in and stole everything except the Peow Peow Rifle. Luckily, my brother and his friend kicked my neighbor from the party and won.

  21. People that don't speak your language

Everybody who plays the game should speak English.

  22. Spammers

This is very annoying in Fortnite! Last season in Chapter 2: Season 2, I kept dying to annoying kids that just sprayed me from close range with their AR or SMGs. Why can't people just use a shotgun in a close-range fight instead of relying on spray weapons?

Spammers are annoying. Even in Naruto, they're a pain, but in DBZ, they're much worse. Seriously, I fought a Y. Kakashi spammer in Revolution who spammed Chidori, but I made a huge comeback and beat him with Sakura. I did the same thing with Shisui against a Madara spammer. In RB1, I fought a scrubby spammer, and I 2v5ed him, then he rage quit. In RB2 team battle, he tried to 1v5 me with Goku by repeating the same combo and abusing Instant Transmission but failed miserably. He beat my Meta-Cooler but not my SSJ2 Teen Gohan. LOL.

  23. People who kick you for no reason

I got kicked off of Minecraft, Dead Island, Dead Rising 2, and more because they don't like you or kick you out for no apparent reason.

On the tablet, playing Call of Mini Zombies Online boss fight level 11, kicked off.

    Starts playing game.

"I'm finally playing multiplayer in Halo!"

    Gets kicked.

    "Oh, come on!"

  24. Ads

  25. Rage quitters

I had some people rage quit a few times on Call of Duty. They quit in the middle of the match.

  26. Overpowered weapons

Weapons like the AWP (CS:GO), Phlog (TF2), and the minigun and homing launcher (Grand Theft Auto Online) are just annoying.

  27. Long load times

  28. People who play with horrible connection

I hate to be mean, but if you have a crappy connection at the moment, just wait it out and don't play online! Why make everyone you're playing with online suffer too?

I apparently have a bad connection, and it's pretty much the opposite. I shoot this guy's chest like 250 times, and he just kills me with a shotgun.

I wait on you for 5 minutes to connect to the PlayStation 3 internet forever.

  29. Noobs

I hate noobs. But I don't hate them just because they are new. I hate them because most of them try to play the game correctly, but they just bum around doing stupid things.
