Best Dynasty Warriors Characters
Huge AoE damage for taking checkpoints, and his Musou attacks inflict very high single-target damage for nuking generals.
The most formidable warrior in history, he contested the three sworn brothers: Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, and Guan Yu for more than 100 rounds. He defeated Liu Bei and overpowered him in no time. He killed Dong Zhuo with a single swing of his weapon. In the actual game, his starting skills are higher than all the other characters available. He has a unique ability to become invincible. The description says he is the strongest warrior of that time. With just a few swings, he can wipe out an entire army. Lu Bu is simply the best character in Dynasty Warriors.
Guan Yu is the best of the best! I played as Guan Yu with my friend (he used Zhao Yun). We were both level 25 and we killed Lu Bu very easily. I also played on a map with only Wu people (I forget the map's name) and met Sun Quan. By then, I was already level 50. Guan Yu just killed everyone, swinging his blade like a boss and killing Sun Quan alone. He is just awesome!
P.S.: He is the very first guy I used in Dynasty Warriors, so I really love him!
In Dynasty Warriors 8, whenever I use a single strong attack, his weapon gets imbued with fire and deals great damage. I love his moves and he is quite powerful. Great fighter and God of War.
Speed, strength, and range. Most badass in my opinion, and he's just a badass character.
Here comes the strategist of Mt. Dingjun, Marquis Wei, the governor, and valiant of Liang.
In history, he is the strongest warrior of the Three Kingdoms era, even above Lu Bu. The only reason he isn't named as such is that since Liu Bei met Guan Yu and Zhang Fei first and they are sworn brothers, Liu Bei would always send Zhao Yun on the most difficult missions, then send Guan Yu and Zhang Fei in shortly after to reap the rewards. Due to this, Zhao Yun never really got to put his name and abilities out there like Lu Bu and Guan Yu.
I love his fighting style and character design.
Here comes the Dragon of Chang Shan!
He looks cool. He wields a massive blade. He's a great general, tactician, and a legendary soldier.
He removed an arrow from his skull with his eye attached to it and kept fighting. He lived longer than most, fought more wars than most, and was always steadfast and loyal. He crossed blades with the greatest warriors, beat most, and drew with the rest.
Xiahou Dun is the best. He can beat Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. He is the one who killed Zhang Jiao in the game. Dian Wei and Lu Bu fight and they draw. In the game, Xiahou Dun is hunting tigers when he encounters Dian Wei and fights him. Dian Wei loses to him.
There is no greater weapon than a prepared mind. So, what is better than the most genius strategist in Chinese history?
Hail the 'Mighty Blade of Wei'!
A level-headed general who searches the 'Path of the Warrior,' he remains fearless even in death. While physically stronger, Lu Bu was frightened of his impending death, while Zhang Liao accepted his fate like a man. Even when outnumbered 7,000 to 100,000, his fearlessness changed the tides of He Fei. He had Sun Quan wagging his tail between his legs.
In addition, his character design is stylish, especially his hats. His twin axes combined with his EX 1 make him unstoppable.
He's such a tragic hero and is so fun to play as. I know people don't like his voice, but I really like it. He's one of my favorite characters ever.
Zhou Yu was truly the master strategist of that period. Even Cao Cao and Liu Bei feared him. If he had lived longer, he would have given Cao Cao or Sima Yi a run for their money. Perhaps Wu would have lasted longer than it originally did. Zhuge Liang can't compare to him (unless you are talking about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms portrayal of Zhuge Liang).
He is superior to Zhuge Liang in actual history. They downplayed him in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, making Zhuge Liang seem better than him when he's not. Zhou Yu is the better general and strategist who really came up with the plan to defeat Cao Cao at Chibi.
Gan Ning is a true pal. Just look at his interactions with Ling Tong!
Best in Dynasty Warriors 2-6 when he runs for his Musou. Still awesome afterwards. Strong and reliable.
People mostly underrate him because of his alcoholism and "stupidity" and other stuff he allegedly did.
But actually, he is awesome. He is very powerful, he is a funny guy, and not as dull as most characters. That's why I love him. Unfortunately, KOEI, for some reason, portrayed him negatively, and it shows.
The man who lied and manipulated his way to Jin winning everything while maniacally laughing along the way. Surely, he was no IMBECILE.
The best strategist. In the end, he manipulated Wei and allowed his family to rise to power.
Everyone else is just an imbecile.
Dude uses nunchaku or a three-section staff (made popular in the classic kung fu movie "Shaolin 36 Chambers") and has an attitude that many people can relate to. He's a little effeminate-looking, but it's not that big of a deal. He's nasty on the field and one of my favorite Wu generals.
I like her along with her older sister, Da Qiao. She's very energetic, confident, and really pretty. I love the Two Qiaos!
If Sun Ce had lived longer, together with Zhou Yu, Wu would have been at the peak of greatness. He would have been the Alexander the Great of his age if he hadn't died so soon. This guy conquered much of China's territory quickly at a young age. He wouldn't have been the Little Conqueror otherwise. He should have ranked higher.
He was the original badass of Wu. If only he had lived longer with Zhou Yu, Wu would have been greater. Sun Ce conquered areas in a short period of time at such a young age.
This girl is awesome. She knows how to kick butt. She has one of the best personalities. I know she's not involved a lot, but she is young. Her relationship with Sun Ce is one of the best relationships in Dynasty Warriors ever! She really knows how to fight and would do anything to protect her confident little sister.
Mature 18-year-old wrecking an entire army with fans.
She's such a badass! She calls the shots in her marriage and dominates on the battlefield! Such a queen! Plus, she was the only woman in the original novel who fought, so her badassery carries over in all versions of the story!
He is literally the hero of the story.
