Top Ten Food-Themed Levels in Video Games
What happens when you combine two of my favorite things in the world, food and video games and put them together? Well, you get these food themed video game levels of course. I'm sure you get the full jist of it by now... Vote for the food themed video games levels YOU think are the best. We good? Good thanks. And the award for the most creative lava stage in all of gaming goes to... Luncheon Kingdom from Super Mario Odyssey. Gotta love how after you beat the boss and cook him/her alive, the NPCs comment on how the stew is chewier than usual.
The second level of Victoria's Laboratory and the seventh level overall of LittleBigPlanet 2 features cake meanies to deal with as you traverse through the delicious-looking, dangerous garden. It's also the first appearance of possibly the best song in the entire game, Victoria's Laboratory Theme. (I seriously recommend giving it a quick listen, as it's one of the most ingenious pieces of music I've ever heard.)
The eighth level of the 1995 sequel to Earthworm Jim is, as expected, based on the cleverly named title alone. Food is obviously the main theme here.
The second track of the Egg Cup in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is my main pick. The reason I chose this track over Sweet Sweet Canyon is primarily that I prefer cheese over sweets. I also love the sweet jazzy tune that accompanies it, and I believe it's just an overall better track.
Level 6 of Juicy Jungle is the final level before the boss battle. It features giant popsicles to run and jump across and an overall beautiful, frosty atmosphere. (I chose this level over The Golden Temple in DKC Returns mainly for these reasons).
A level based on the imagery of Columbia's Bon Bon Parade and Van Beuren's Candy Land in particular.
The first level of World 3 in Yoshi's Woolly World is most notable for its many references to the 1992 NES puzzle game, Yoshi's Cookie.
The first level/dream of the 2003 children's Winnie the Pooh adventure game, Piglet's Big Game, unsurprisingly features sweets and candy everywhere, considering that it's the dream of the food-loving bear with very little brain. Complete with a flowing ocean of milk and a cake house filled with even more delicious cakes and festive birthday decorations.
Too bad Heffalumps and Woozles are everywhere, trying to scare poor little Piglet away. Jerks...
The third stage of Treat Land in Kirby's Epic Yarn should be kept in mind, considering that levels are usually the worlds in the Kirby series and the stages are the actual levels in the games.
The only spooky and food-themed level on this list so far, with the upper area of the level being spooky and the lower areas being sweet and foody in particular.
