Top 10 Predictions for E3 2018
I am going to try this again for E3 2018, as I did with 2017. This time, I'm going to be more researched and look into more of the rumors and leaks leading up to the event. Hopefully, I'll get more of my predictions correct this time.If you have any predictions of your own, please feel free to share, and hopefully, some of them may be correct.
At first, I wasn't sure about this prediction, as I initially believed it was too early for the game to be released. However, with all the recent rumors and "leaks," as well as the fact that Nintendo seems pretty confident that the Switch will sell like hotcakes this year, my guess is they have something big up their sleeve.
Nintendo works in mysterious ways, so you never know, but the only two IPs they have left that will drive sales as insane as Mario and Zelda are Pokemon and Smash. I don't think Nintendo will release Smash yet, so Pokemon seems to be the biggest bet right now.
Kojima likes to keep the internet on its toes when it comes to Death Stranding. Every single tweet or comment he makes will have the internet speculating, whether it is related to Death Stranding or not. Many people are eagerly looking forward to new information, details, and theories on how the game will unfold.
Kojima has stated that the game was in a playable form a while back. Guillermo Del Toro has mentioned that he has seen some of the gameplay. My guess is that while the VGA's announced another trailer to help piece together the complex puzzle that is Death Stranding, a gameplay reveal will be shown at E3 that will make every Kojima fan ecstatic.
It's been nearly 5 years since its announcement, but it seems we may have our chance to see a new trailer (or at least a substantial amount of information) for the mysterious IP, Cyberpunk 2077.
With the game's Twitter account riling up the internet with a single word and the fact that the company will attend E3 this year, I have high hopes that Cyberpunk 2077 will be a major talking point when E3 hits.
This is a mix of both Blade Runner and Splinter Cell fused into one. I would like to know more about it.
After surprisingly not even showing up at last year's E3, I have a feeling that Naughty Dog will be sharing something new with us regarding their upcoming game.
Since The Last of Us Part II is now the main focus for Naughty Dog, and they are Sony's most prominent developer at the moment, having a second E3 in a row with no mention of the game seems highly unlikely.
Well, Sony is getting this game sooner rather than later, once the decade has reached its end.
It seems fitting that Nintendo will throw in the big one to excite E3. Last year was Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon. This year, Smash seems like the worthy candidate.
We may not get a release date, but I highly believe we will see the reveal. This would be an exciting E3 moment for sure.
That would be SUPERB. I will be looking forward to it. *Prays that there are no Kingdom Hearts characters in the game.*
I hope Krystal will make it into the next game's roster...
It's been confirmed to be in development for a while now, and I feel like the possibility of Bethesda giving the latest Elder Scrolls game a release date is highly likely.
Bethesda often only announces games at E3 that will be released the same year. Rumors suggest Bethesda plans on making a big reveal this E3, and my guess is that it's Elder Scrolls 6. Their last main team game was in 2015, so they should be pretty close to finishing this one. Maybe I'm reaching here, but I feel like it shouldn't be disregarded as a possibility.
You may be thinking, "Hold on, Metroid Prime 4 was just announced last year, there's no way they will have gameplay ready."
I have a feeling Nintendo has been working on this game for longer than we initially thought. Plus, it's confirmed that Bandai Namco will be working on the new Prime game as well. It seems this game was in development way longer than its reveal. Nintendo knew that just the slight announcement of it would make the internet and fans explode. Expect to see some MP4 at E3, definitely.
Insomniac's upcoming title will hopefully be a PS4 classic. With the excitement and hype around this game, I'm willing to bet that Sony will announce a release date for the game at E3.
They have estimated it will be out in Summer 2018, and E3 is just before the season. It would be kind of like the Fallout 4 situation, where the release date is announced only a month or so away.
I was hoping it would make it out in time, but now we are just anticipating an answer this year.
I'm willing to bet Microsoft will give this upcoming Xbox exclusive a release date at E3 this year. It was perhaps delayed to be more optimized for the Xbox One X, and I feel like this game could be a real test to show the power of the console.
Let's hope Microsoft does well with this.
It has already been confirmed that the original Spyro trilogy will be remade from the ground up into a full HD remaster, just like the N-Sane Trilogy. It is said that it will release later in 2018 as a timed PS4 exclusive.
A trailer is supposed to be revealed sometime in March, and my guess is that gameplay and more details will be shown at Sony's E3 press conference. This is kind of already confirmed-ish, which is why I put this at #10.
After 15 years, how much more will be revealed about the greatest surprise of 2017? Now, Ubisoft, can you deliver 2 years in a row?
Sure, why not? Burnout was a pretty great series next to Need for Speed before the quality started to decline later on.
There's a remaster of Burnout Paradise coming soon.
We all hope that Jak and Daxter will return to gaming, as we haven't seen a new Jak and Daxter game in years.
That looks pretty possible based on the peeks I've been seeing.
