Most Underrated Video Games

This list is one of the worst crafted lists that I had ever seen. I take it that most of the people that found this list don't get what the word UNDERRATED means. Since when had mario, pokemon, star wars, zelda, or call of duty ever been underrated? Those are all among the most OVERRATED things out there. Seeing any game from those franchises on this list is as stupid as seeing justin bieber and several other overrated singers on the list of most underrated singers. If this list were highly consistent to the title of this list, then Ristar, Alex Kidd, Tumblepop, and Beyond Good & Evil would at least be in the top 20 part of this list. It's nice to know that Kinetica is. As for Sonic 06, it's not that many people don't know about it. It's that many people want to pretend that abomination does not exist. Only the most die-hard sonic fans would like that game. If such glitches had been part of a non-sonic game, like Big Rigs, no one would want to know that game even exists.

This is the best video game I have played in my life. It is beautiful. When you play this game, you will feel deep emotions for this game. It has a extremely deep story. When I saw this game, I just bought because it was cheap. Well, the best choice ever. Once you get to the end, You WILL cry. I have never cried in any other game. The deep music is the best part, it is better than anything you will ever hear in your life. Just play it, and you will understand, the music deeply connnects to what is going on. There are some dark parts, but they still make you feel great. Just thinking back at the game gives me chills.

Personally, I think Luigis Mansion is overrated. Some moments are pretty annoying like the big boo boss, the story isn't perfect (I mean how does the boos kidnapped Mario if they were trap in a room before Luigi arrives that doesn't make any sense), and the game is pretty short. I don't say Luigis Mansion is a bad game. Heck, I might even give this game a 4/5! However, this game still has it flaws. However, the biggest reason why I find this game overrated is because of dark moon. Dark moon is one of my favorite game of all time and this game is hate because of the original. This was the only reason I had a SNES. Don't get me wrong, it had great games, but I liked the genesis better. However, nothing compares to earthbound. This was in my opinion the best game of the fourth generation. I had it when I was nine, and still play it to this day. If you haven't played it yet, I strongly suggest you do. If you're into RPG's, you'll automatically like it.

A good game that got ruined by Nintendo's half-assed advertising, and due to its failure (which, again, was not the game's fault), Nintendo of America never bothered to release any of the other Mother games (this is the second game), while Europe didn't even release this one.

So for many people, Super Smash Bros was their first glimpse of the Mother series.

Is this a broken game? Yes. Is it one of the worst in the world? Okay that's a bit too far. This game is far more enjoyable than Sonic Labyrinth and I guess Free Riders even though I've never played Free Riders but I've played Sonic Labyrinth.

For example, it's fun to see what glitches you can perform and the multiplayer is ok. This even has lots of playable characters each with a unique ability. Also, who could forget Mephiles, I mean he was the best Sonic villain and I think his fights and the final boss are pretty fun. Mephiles needs to come back.

Now I know what you're thinking, how can you forget about the loading screens? Well I guess it's annoying but it's not the end of the world. As for the story, if you don't like it, just ignore it. It doesn't matter.

You should at least try this game to see what glitches you can do because some of them are genuinely funny.

This game is actually one of my favorites. Yes, BFBB is a good game as well, but I this game makes you stay up at night thinking about how you're going to beat the next level. Don't listen to the hate. I bet they never even played the game.

Starfox is really underrated, this game was my childhood. The only reason some people know it is because of Super Smash Brothers. I love this game and if you haven't checked it out you really should.

Reply to the person who claimed Mario games have no story: Mario games didn't focus on the story, they were more focused on the level design and buildup of level difficulty. And why are they still good? Because the Mario series does a good job at giving the player a challenge as they progress throughout the games levels. Another example of a misjudgment of a game. Because a game's plot doesn't always matter.

This was one of my first games and I'll always have a special spot for it, I thought it was a good game that, stepped away from traditional Mario and succeeded, why vegetables, no Bowser, stop complaining and play you'll like it. Don't get how it is one of the worst.
Almost voted for majora's mak, but I thought it at least had some respect in the game world.

Bought it for my 3DS because I loved paper Mario and the thousand year Door, picked up this hot mess and returned it within an hour. If you thought paper Mario for the wii was hot garbage wait till you play this total stinker. Buy it. Throw it in the trash. Better gaming for humanity.

I'm sorry but this is trash. I only played 5 minutes of it and then felt like chucking my 3ds at a wall.

Like Hollow Knight, this indie game needs and deserves more attention. I have a friend who is zealously trying to tell everyone about this game, he in fact is the one the introduced it to me. I can see why he wants everyone to know about this game, it really is something amazing.

It's a real shame. This game had a wonderful story and really fun gameplay, among all of its other pros, but it NEVER had a chance. Just looking at the box, it looks like one of those generic DS games made by that company you've never heard of. Too bad it couldn't take off.

One of if not the best DS games out there! It sucks that it sold so poorly causing to be hard to obtain and fading into obscurity. Hopefully the prequel spinoff game for modern consoles, Fuga: Melodies of Steel will increase awareness of this hidden gem!

The game sold terrible when it first came out, but it slowly gaining popularity, being called one of the most underrated games of all time, with its uniqueness in almost every aspect of the game.

A fun, surreal game with extremely entertaining writing that will make you want to keep going through it.

It's a great game, with great gameplay, great story, and is just generally really fun up until the finale.

I love this game! The music is beautiful, and the landscape and characters look breath-taking! Kirby may have lost this copy-abilities, but with how great this game's story was, I almost forgot about it. Some parts (such as the Meta Knight boss fight, that lovable little turd), were decently difficult. I'll come back to this game with fond memories.

This is possibly one of the greatest games of all time. For coming out in 2011-ish, it looks great and plays great. Co-op isn't confusing, gameplay is fresh, and the whole concept is lovely. The characters, the aesthetic, those boss fights (some of my favorites), just, everything. Besides, it's quite easy to pick up.

Does not deserve the hate it gets. Yes it is nowhere near as good as the other Bioshock games but it is still a good game. I feel like it gets compared to #1 and Infinite instead of other games and that is just sad. Fantastic game.

Just play Minerva's Den. Then you'll realise how underrated this game is.

People may worship this game now, but it deserves as much acclaim as Ocarina of Time, aged better, and would have changed the outcome of the franchise for the better if it wasn't met with so much rage at the time for its graphics.

Depends on who you are talking to, I'm guessing the general outcry is that it is pretty awful, because of the fanbase, who say it's amazing. I love this game, but have pushed away the fanbase. In that context, yes. It is underrated.

Listen folks. I adore Undertale, and it's definitely one of my FGOATs (favorite games of all time), but I don't find it underrated. There is a lot of people that loves it and other that dislike it. It's not a game that is underrated or even overrated.

Overrated by its fanbase, but deserves vastly more respect from the general public. Pretty much the same hype situation that happened with Rocko's Modern Life before it.

This is truly the most underrated video game ever. It got very mediocre reviews and didn't sell well at all. I thought it was a great game, in fact it's honestly the best Sonic game I've played. This game had loads of different endings and stories, which gave it excellent replay value. It had a great thought provoking story, Shadow was so cool and badass, and the multiplayer was good as well.

The gameplay is still good to this day. I feel if more people knew about this game and the fanbase for this site was a bit more mature than this game would be 1st or 2nd on this list.

This game is great, the GameCube didn't do so well so it explains why it isn't well known. It was great and if I would choose a Mario sequel from odyssey, galaxy and paper I would choose Sunshine

People didn't like the change they made to Mario. Said it was overdone..well at this point in time Mario needed a change and this got the franchise back up and running

I would say get good, but I feel like the only person that sucks against Ring Man, so I have no idea why this game is consider hard.

This game is FINE. The only problem is samus acts helpless and there's drama.
