Top 10 Worst Fire Emblem Pairings

Worst Fire Emblem pairings, or worst Fire Emblem ships, canon or not. These are the pairings that rub you the wrong way, that you dislike because of the way they are written, because of their annoying shippers, or for any other reason. Which Fire Emblem ship or pairing can't you stand?

  1. Chrom & Sumia (Fire Emblem Awakening)

    This is probably one of my least favorite pairings for Chrom in all of Awakening.

    First off, I hate that Sumia is so hard to pair off if you don't put her with Chrom.

    Secondly, Cynthia does not make any freaking sense! She doesn't recognize Chrom as her father and follows some random bandit. And we know Ylisse Castle still stands, at least before they travel back in time, based on cutscenes and the audio CDs. So there had to have been a picture of Chrom somewhere in the freaking castle, especially with how much Frederick plasters his face around. So how can she not know?!

    Sumia is the worst option among all of Chrom's love interests, and even so, she gets a special cutscene.

  2. Eliwood & Ninian (Fire Emblem Blazing Blade)

    A ship with a very territorial fanbase that attacks and downvotes anyone who likes Eliwood or Ninian with his other options, and gets praised for nothing. The writing is very dumb, and Ninian is helpless and annoying.

  3. Tharja & Robin (Fire Emblem Awakening)

    Tharja is a stalker and an abusive mother towards Noire. It's also quite bad that Robin turns into a bad father by default for allowing Tharja's abuse of Noire.

  4. Hector & Lyn (Fire Emblem Blazing Blade)

    Some shippers try to say that Lyn would never marry Eliwood because she wouldn't be happy in a palace, but they still ship her with Hector, who is verbally abusive towards her and would make her live in a palace even so. Try to make sense of it?

  5. Lucina & Robin (Fire Emblem Awakening)

    The main thing is that it feels really weird to pair up Robin with any of their friend's children. Lucina is slightly more okay, and that's only because of the fact that you meet her before all the time travel shenanigans are revealed and before she's born.

    It is still very weird, though, and I still don't like the pairing. She still gets a bit better reasoning than the others, but I still don't like it and have only done a Robin and second-generation pairing just to see what a third-generation Morgan is like.

    Marrying the daughter of your best friend that you met as a baby is not nice, even if you met her again when she is a hot time traveler.

  6. Nah & Inigo (Fire Emblem Awakening)

    Nah tries to force Inigo if he doesn't marry her.

  7. Corrin & Percy (Fire Emblem Fates)

    Similar to my reasoning for Lucina and Robin, Corrin with any child unit is just weird. Also, I really just don't like Percy as a character. But really, I just don't like the avatar units generally with second-generation kids.

    Percy is a child, and Corrin is an adult. Totally creepy.

  10. Lucina & Inigo (Fire Emblem Awakening)

    Lucina and Inigo is just a pairing I can never see working out for a number of reasons.

    1. Lucina and Inigo, in theory, seem like they'd go good together, but I feel like there'd be way too much going on at the same time. Inigo is always being compared to Lucina, and I feel like he'd come to have some negative feelings towards her. But I also feel like it'd be one-sided on Inigo's side towards Lucina. I don't think Lucina would vibe with Inigo very well.

    2. One of my favorite pairings for Chrom is Olivia. My reasoning for this is that Inigo is one of the only children aside from Lucina who mentions having the brand out of all of Chrom's kids. You'd think more would point out having the brand. In addition, just from the way Inigo's father seems to compare him to Lucina, I feel like it'd hit more for Inigo being bitter about it if he and Lucina are siblings.

    I just can only see Inigo and Lucina as siblings, or it being one-sided love on Inigo's side that he grows out of once he goes to Nohr and realizes that his small group of friends aren't the only people in the world who are a good dating pool.

  13. Edelgard & Byleth (Fire Emblem Three Houses)

    Nothing like a couple that subjugates others. Not to mention that Edelgard is obsessed with "Professor" and can't pay attention to others when Byleth is around.

  14. Roy & Lilina (Fire Emblem Binding Blade)

    Talk about an overrated pairing. There's nothing that is so interesting about this pairing that other romances for either Roy or Lilina can't provide.
