Top 10 Worst Reasons People Get Discriminated Against

Discrimination is a violation of human rights, but it is still prevalent in society.

The Top Ten
  1. Race

Out of all the things people are discriminated for, I get most disgusted when others judge people by their race.

I've never been discriminated against for my race, but I'm afraid I might be because I'm half Black. I also hate how a lot of people don't like Asians and just stereotype them with a fake accent.

I got called a Black B because I was talking to my sister on a bus. People are just ignorant.

I don't understand who would hate people just because of their skin color!

  2. Sex

There are still many sexist attitudes and people around the world.

People who identify as agender are lucky. They get to transcend the nonsense that women and men (though on the Internet, it's usually women) face nearly every day.

I wish men weren't always seen the same way. Some men are asexual or not straight, but they still get categorized as only wanting sex from women. Please be more considerate with your words.

  3. Appearance

People who are "more appealing" regarding their looks tend to be treated better than those who aren't necessarily "good looking." This is something that society has invented, and that we have adjusted to. It's actually all nonsense.

  4. Opinions

People tend to discriminate against someone who doesn't have the same opinion as them and call him or her a strange person.

    Liberals in a nutshell.

(Not discriminating, but "safe spaces" are taking away my free speech because free speech isn't always hate speech.)

  5. Religion

I think that everyone can live wherever and however they want. They should also be allowed to have the religion to which they belong or want to belong. I don't understand how people don't understand that.

People don't believe I'm Muslim sometimes because I don't obey all the rules. They judge too quickly.

This could be the negative effect of governments that very strictly impose state religion.

  6. Sexuality

I don't believe that anyone was born gay, but such discrimination is still unacceptable.

Who cares about gay or lesbian? The other day, I saw a woman propose to another woman!

I know two gay couples, and they are like family to me.

  7. Being attractive

  8. Social status

There are still these traditional societies that discriminate against poor people.

  9. Ethnicity

I've been called a Nazi Jew for being part Polish, German, and ethnically Jewish (it's my mom's side). I've also been called white ass, along with people whispering about me being a Catholic. My family received similar discrimination over the years and faced hardships.

This is the reason behind all the ethnic cleansings and killings.

  10. Mental disabilities

Don't you hate it how people use a disease affecting someone as an insult towards another person?

Ah, don't you just love it when people nowadays use autism as an insult?

  11. The Newcomers

    School achievements

  14. The Contenders
  15. Gender

I should be given the same rights as anyone else, regardless of whether I am male or female.

  16. National origin

Just because you're Asian doesn't mean you're uncivilized.

Just because I'm American doesn't mean I'm racist.

Just because I'm German doesn't mean that I'm a Nazi.

  17. Educational attainment

I haven't found this. I barely scraped through school, but I find my own way through life by other means. No one seems to notice how uneducated I am. Haha.

Others would just take advantage of you because they'd think you're illiterate.

Not trying to brag, but my grammar is better than most kids my age.

  18. Fandoms

In some cases, a fandom attraction (MLP, for example) will usually be incorrectly interpreted as being correlated to another personal decision (in this case, homosexuality).

  19. Language barriers

This mostly happens to people who can't speak English.

I speak two languages. My first language sounds like gibberish, and I get mocked for it. Ale mine to die obchodzi. That's "but I don't care" in Polish.

  20. Age

My opinions and knowledge are frequently ignored because I am not yet 18.

People sometimes refuse service to teenagers!

  21. Intellect

  22. Music taste

  23. Physical disabilities

Any disabilities. People with deformed legs get abused as much as those with mental disorders.

They may have physical limitations, but they have a complete soul.

  24. Sexual orientation

  25. Their past

People get discriminated against for their past. If you've been to prison or juvie, and you go somewhere, you get treated differently as if you're bad. I love how people are remembered more for the mistakes they've made than the good things they've achieved.

  26. Types of hobbies

I play basketball and am constantly being called "gay" and weird in public.

  27. Weight

Yeah, it's disgusting for someone to say, "YOU'RE FAT."

  28. Maturity

  29. The way they talk

I was sadly bullied for it, and it made me feel less extroverted and talkative.
