American Ninja Warrior: Venice Qualifying
2storm Matt Iseman: Hello this is Matt Iseman with Akbar Gabjabiamela and this is American Ninja Warrior.Akbar: This will be epic New season.
Matt: So this is Venice top ten or if you complete the courses you will make it to final then top five or if you complete the much harder course will make it to Mt. Midoriyama then do four stages for a chance for a million dollars.
Akbar: There have been two people to become a American Ninja Warrior one will compete tonight. Along with David Campbell, Travis Rosen, and Ryan Stratis.
Matt: So let's go down to Doris Burke.
Doris: Thanks so first obstacle is the Quintouple steps 8 steps 8 feet away hit the water your out. The second is the cargo net, jump from the platform to the net climb down to the platform hit the water your out. Next is snake crossing stand on a little platform it will flip 25 percent in the walk then again halfway, hit the mat your out. 4th is new X mat you jump off a platform to a mat you jump to the top of the mat. You then jump to the next mat. You then do that four more times. The last is the infamous warped wall run up a wall 15 feet high. Just press the buzzer and you go to the semis Akbar Matt.
Akbar: So let's start first up is Ryo Matachi from Greece.
The buzzer starts.
Matt: Ryo gets on the first step and gets cross it quick he goes to the trampoline and jumps to cargo net and quickly climbs down. Wait he got his hand stuck.
Akbar: This bad he is losing energy.
Matt: Ryo gets out and jumps off. He now dries his hands.
Akbar: Now for Snake crossing a killer last year.
Matt: He gets on it he makes the first flip now for the deadly second one.
Ryo jumps at the wrong time and hits the mat.
Akbar: He misses the second one.
Matt: No!
Akbar: Like a lot of people last year he just jumped badly down to Doris and Ryo.
Doris: Hey Ryo.
Ryo: Hey.
Doris: The first victim of snake crossing.
Ryo: Yeah that is hard.
Doris: You hope it will hold up?
Ryo: Hopefully.
Doris: Up to Matt.
Matt: It may just be the furthest and fastest and make it his time is 49 seconds. Coming up David Campbell the Godfather on American Ninja Warrior.
Matt: And were back with American Ninja Warrior up next is Mokoto Nagano he won Sausuke.
Akbar: This guy is legendary.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: And Mokoto takes a slow approach to the Quintouple steps.
Akbar: This can hurt him in the future with time.
Matt: Mokoto then runs to the cargo net gets a low jump and OHH HE CAN'T GRASP THE NET AND HE IS OUT!
Akbar: He just didn't reach out far enough to reach the net wow.
Matt: Just like that he is out.
Matt: So are next competitor is Paul Kasmir.
Akbar: Paul is amazingly consistent and can finish any course you throw at him. One of our best competitors.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: So Kasmir finishes the quintouple steps at a good pace. And on to the cargo net.
Akbar: He gets a good place in the middle of the net.
Matt: On to snake crossing.
Akbar: He collects his thoughts. He knows how difficult this obstacle is.
Matt: He goes slowly to the quarter mark he jumps and WOW HE JUST FLYED THROUGH THAT!
Akbar: He moves to X-Mat.
Matt: He makes the 1st jump. He makes this obstacle look easy and he flys through it and then he just flys up the Warped Wall. And he is the first finisher of the night!
Akbar: He just destroyed Snake Crossing and the X-Mat with ease.
Matt: What a performance by Paul Kasmir finishing in 56 seconds. Coming up The Godfather David Campbell and Positronwildhawk has something to prove.
Matt: So we are back up next is Bobbythebrony. He is one of the Toptenners in this competition. He has something to prove coming from Tennessee.
"Confessional" Bobbythebrony: I know I can beat these Gay People from New York.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: Bobbythebrony comes out flying through the quintouple steps. He goes to the cargo net and he gets a low placement and he is flying early on this could really benefit him. He goes on Snake Crossing and....
Akbar: OH AND HE SLIPS AND FALLS ON THE FIRST ROTATION!
Matt: Wow, but he did go quick and could still be moving on.
Akbar: He did that in 27 seconds, but he still failed.
Matt: Let's see if our next Top Tenner can do better the nerd from England has something to prove.
"Confessional" Positronwildhawk: Yes I am a nerd. A nerd can do anything a athlete can do exceptionally me.
Akbar: So let's see.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: Positronwildhawk starts off slow on the quintouple steps. He now goes onto the cargo net.
Akbar: His long legs could slow him down on this obstacle.
Matt: And he gets through the obstacle. On to Snake Crossing. He gets on the obstacle he balances himself on the first rotation and OH HE JUMPS THE SECOND HALF!
Akbar: That is where the long legs help.
Matt: On to X-Mat. He jumps and makes it here comes the second and yep. On to the third and be makes it. Here comes the last and yes he makes it unto the Warped Wall. And there you go another finisher.
Akbar: The long legs just helped him on Snake Crossing.
Matt: Let's go down to him and Doris.
Doris: Positronwildhawk you just crushed the course. How do you think of your first experience?
Positronwildhawk: Well I'll tell you one thing I am tired, but it just proves a nerd can do anything a athlete can do.
Doris: Get ready for the semis and good luck. Up to you Matt.
Matt: So now we have Mike Bernardo. He is a firefighter and is quick with amazing strength.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: Mike Bernardo goes up one side of the quintouple steps and flys into the cargo net and gets a low placement.
Akbar: He wants the fastest time.
Matt: And FLYS THROUGH SNAKE CROSSING! He goes straight into X-Mat and he makes the first jump and the second. He makes the third and the fourth. AND UP THE WARPED WALL HE GOES! MIKE BERNARDO!
Akbar: I don't know what got into him, but he just finished this course in 41 seconds for the number 1 time.
Matt: Let's go down to Doris.
Doris: Mike you just burned that course. How did you do that?
Mike: I knew that there was some quick people tonight so I knew I had to come out blazing and I did.
Doris: Well you got the fastest time so far. Good luck in the Semi-finals.
Matt: So Mike Bernardo takes first with Kasmir in second. In third is Positronwildhawk. With Bobbythebrony in fourth. Mokoto Nagano in fifth and behind him Ryo Matachi still in danger. Still a lot of contestants left. So up next David Campbell shows his greatness and Geoff Britan looks to live up to the hype.
Matt: So we are back Ryan Stratis is up to the plate.
Akbar: Stratis is one of the greats and one of the most motivated contestants and I expect him to destroy this course.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: So Stratis is off with the quintouple steps and gets a good swing on the cargo net to get a good low placement. He moves to Snake Crossing.
Akbar: Stratis is slowing down at Snake Crossing, because he knows how dangerous it is.
Matt: He gets past the first rotation. And he gets past the second and he goes straight to the X-Mat OH AND LOOK AT STRATIS JUST DESTROYING THE X-MAT!
Akbar: Stratis just showing how to do the X-Mat.
Matt: And he goes up the wall with ease. Stratis completes the course in 1 minute and 4 seconds.
Akbar: He just destroyed the X-Mat he completed the long 4 mat obstacle in just 10 seconds.
Matt: Up next is Kevin Bull a breakout star for American Ninja Warrior. Let's see how he does.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: Bull goes up one side of the quintouple steps and jumps quickly on the cargo net and he goes low and he is off.
Akbar: Kevin Bull is going for that fastest time.
Matt: OH AND HE DESTROYS SNAKE CROSSING! He jumps to the first mat OH KEVIN BULL FELL!
Akbar: WHAT!?
Matt: He misstimed the jump.
Akbar: What a shock let's go down to Doris.
Doris: Kevin, What happened?
Kevin: I was going to fast and got a little over anxious.
Doris: You have gone far enough fast enough to move Kevin up to you Matt.
Matt: So in 1st place is Mike Bernardo with Kasmir in 2nd. In 3rd is Ryan Stratis with Positronwildhawk behind him in 4th. Of the people who did not complete the course Kevin Bull is the only one safe with only 5 competitors left. Up next both Travis Rosen and Brett Stephenson taken a crack at the course.
Matt: So we are back Travis Rosen is ready to start. Rosen is a market trader from Tennessee and he is one of the best ninjas ever and he wants to go far this year.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: He starts out with a good pace. He gets a really low placement on the cargo net.
Akbar: Getting a good position on the cargo net is crucial, but is also risky.
Matt: He slows down for the Snake Crossing and he flys through the obstacle. On to the X-Mat he gets on the 1st one and makes the 2nd one. The 3rd is good and the 4th and he jets up the Warped Wall and he hits the buzzer. 1 minute and 2 seconds from Rosen what a run.
Akbar: Wow that was amazing from the legendary Travis Rosen.
Matt: Let's go down to Travis.
Doris: Travis you get again put up another great performance. Do you think you can actually win American Ninja Warrior?
Travis: Yes I have put a lot of work in and I believe I can do it.
Doris: Well you have completed the first step. Up to you Matt.
Matt: Up next Brett Stephenson.
Akbar: Brett Stephenson is a amazing athlete who can do almost anything.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: He starts with a good pace. He moves to the cargo net and gets a medium ranged placement he moves down and moves to Snake Crossing.
Akbar: He dries his shoes to make sure he doesn't slip on Snake Crossing.
Matt: He starts the obstacle he balances the first rotation and the second he runs to the X-Mat and he is flying now he destroys the X-Mat and he rushes up the Warped Wall for a time of 1 minute and 38 seconds. Stephenson just destroyed the course.
Akbar: That is a good start for Brett Stephenson.
Matt: So with only 3 contestants left here are the standings. In 1st is Mike Bernardo with a time of 41 seconds. In 2nd is Paul Kasmir with a time of 56 seconds. In 3rd is Travis Rosen with a time of 1 minute and 2 seconds. In 4th is Ryan Stratis with a time of 1 minute and 4 seconds. In 5th is Positronwildhawk with a time of 1 minute 14 seconds. In 6th is Brett Stephenson with a time of 1 minute and 38 seconds. In 7th is Kevin Bull who fell at the X-Mat in 27 seconds. Bobbythebrony, Ryo Matachi, and Mokoto Nagano are all in danger. Up next Are the final 3 competitors.
Matt: So we are back Shingo Yamamoto is on the plate. Yamamoto is a Japanese Ninja Warrior and can win this easily.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: Shingo Yamamoto starts out fast and jumps to the cargo net OHH AND YAMAMOTO FALLS!
Akbar: Another bad jump just wow. And Yamamoto went slower then Mokoto Nagano so Yamamoto is eliminated.
Matt: So now The Godfather David Campbell is up. If he reaches the cargo net in 12 seconds or completes the obstacle Mokoto Nagano is eliminated.
Akbar: He is known to have one of the largest obstacle courses ever.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: Campbell starts how fast he goes low on the cargo net and he runs to Snake Crossing.
Akbar: He dries his feet.
Matt: The Godfather goes slowly to the middle and he runs past the second rotation he goes straight to the X-Mat and he completes the 1st two mats and be gets the last two. And he flys up the wall.
Akbar: The Godfather just dominated down to Doris.
Doris: David, have you ever been on the X-Mat?
David: Doris, I never have but from watching other ninjas I know how to complete it.
Matt: So David takes out Mokoto Nagano. Ryo Matachi is on the block with only one person left, but that person is Geoff Britain.
Matt: We are back if Geoff Britain can get to Snake Crossing in 48 seconds or less or just gets past the obstacle, Ryo Matachi is out.
Akbar: Don't count on him losing he is the first ever American Ninja Warrior. And he is known as Popeye.
The buzzer sounds.
Matt: Britain comes out on a decent, but slow pace. He jumps to the cargo net in about the middle. And with that Ryo Matachi is out. He dries his feet and hands and he runs through Snake Crossing and he goes straight to the X-Mat and he storms through it and dashes up the Wall.
Akbar: Geoff Britain destroys the course.
Matt: So he finishes in 1 minute and 26 seconds. Here are the rankings.
