Some scales, like the Major, Minor, and Minor Blues are good scales that people use often.

However, there are way more bad scales, which nobody uses because they may be dissonant, or lack notes.

The Top Ten
1 Chromatic Scale (1- b2-2-b3-3-4-b4-5-#5-6-b7-7-8

Too many notes

2 Octave Scale (1-8)

This will sound very monotonous.

You mean octatonic?

cause that's a good scale

3 Threestep scale (1-b5-8)

On top of it being 2 unique tones, the 2nd one is very ugly sounding.

4 Major pentatonic scale (1-2-3-5-6-8)

Too simple.

5 Dorian blues (1-2-4-5-#5-6-8

This one really lacks a tonal chord

6 Melodic Minor

Maybe using one at a time, but not both ascending and descending.

This one requires two different scales at least once

7 Locrian (1-b2-b3-4-b5-b6-b7-8)

Are you kidding me

Locrian is like my favorite scale

I'm offended dude

8 Minor Pentatonic Scale (1-b3-4-5-b7-8)

This is so simple!

9 Guitar dot scale (1-b3-4-5-6-8)

Also very simple

10 Consonant Interval Scale (1-b3-3-4-5-#5-6-8)

This one really lacks tension and resolution
