Talkin' 'Bout My G-Generation

PetSounds During the year-and-a-half I've been a member of TheTopTens, a few people have asked me about writing a blog. Well, it's here at last. The only thing I'm really qualified to write about is music.

The Beatles--The Rolling Stones--Queen--Metallica--Nirvana--everyone has heard of them. Their music is well known by my generation. But there are always a few bands and musicians that slip through the cracks--bands that, despite their popularity at the time, have been forgotten by the youth of the 21st century. Mention them to somebody under the age of 16, and you will likely get a blank stare.

My objective is to introduce some of you to bands, songs, and albums that you might not otherwise give a chance. I have no idea how frequently I'll be writing, but I hope you can find something you'll enjoy.

One note: I am an album-oriented listener, and I'm assuming people who will be interested in this are as well. Basically, if you've never heard Revolver or Dark Side of the Moon, this probably isn't the series for you.

PetSounds, you appear to have the correct listening skills, so please take my word for this recommendation- Buffalo Springfield!
Neil Young, Richie Furay, Stephen Stills, Jim Messina, and a couple of others.
Bypass their monster hit "For What its Worth", and dive on in.
You can thank me later. - visitor

I certainly will, since I've been working through the other projects of the members of CSNY. The only song I know by them is "For What It's Worth".

Thank you for the recommendation, my anonymous friend. - PetSounds

Enjoyed the chapters on Bowie and The Cars. Looking forward to more. This is a perfect approach to the subject and so generous of you to share your knowledge and perspective. - Billyv
